The Israeli progressive metal combo Orphaned Land will be releasing a brand new opus called "The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR". The long waited fourth album gives a massive journey into the Middle Eastern metal with obviously folk music approach involved. The album is based on an interesting concept. Even though it is already some years having passed by since Mabool, the Israeli metallers have returned with a strong and brilliant album. Therefore, it is about time to have an interview with Orphaned Land in Metal-Rules.com and chat with the guitarist Yossi Saaron Sassi about the new album.
For nearly twenty years Sweden’s black metal assault Marduk has been delivering the most blasphemous, venomous and often perverse assault on Christianity with their brand of blastbeat heavy black metal. From the "Fuck Me Jesus" EP to songtitles like "Fistfucking God’s Planet" Jesus Christ Sodomized" and "Christraping Black Metal" long has Marduk been an adversary of the Holy.
Guitarist and founder Morgan Steinmeyer Håkansson has been the only constant member of the band’s lineup since it’s inception. The "Plague Angel" album marked the start of the most recent lineup with former bassist Magnus "Devo" Andersson returning to the fold alongside new vocalist Mortuus. Since that time the band has been rounded out by drummer Lars Broddesson and continue to stay as active as ever with a whopping eleven studio albums, six EP’s, three live albums, a boxset and three DVD releases to date.
Most recently the band has released Wormwood. A ten song album recorded at bass player Devo’s Endarker studios; and finally returned to the United States for the first comprehensive tour of the States since 2001’s "Black Metal Assault" tour. Originally slated to take part in last summer’s "Blackendfest" as a co-headliner alongside Norway’s Mayhem; some visa delays put the band’s plans on ice.
Finally…Marduk is now back on U.S. soil and prepared to take their unholy funeral march to a town near you. Backed by French black metaller’s Merrimack, the thrash attack of Mantic Ritual and dark psychedelic metal of Nachtmystium; this tour is not to be missed.
From one of America’s greatest cess pools, the hellish Motor City of Detroit, comes a band so violent and full of rage that the world should be mortified… and the Metal world should be ecstatic. Nocturnal Fear’s fourth album, METAL OF HONOR, influenced by the legendary and super heavy Thrash bands of Germany, is a text book of Heavy Metal at it’s best, rude, nasty, and unforgiving. In this interview founding member and guitarist, the Rev. Chris Slavehunter Ph. D. explains the bands philosophy on Metal, War, why he’s the reverend, and even President Obama.
The mighty Italian thrashers Bulldozer have returned to the living daylights after a long hiatus with a brand new album UNEXPECTED FATE. The band gained a reputation back in the 80’s when thrash metal was raging around the world. Their four albums still represent brutal thrash metal to the bone, which are still worshiped by extreme thrash metallers. Bulldozer’s return has been hailed by several old school metal fans as a welcome addition to the current wave of thrash revival. Therefore it was a good opportunity to ask the fron-tman of Bulldozer, AC Wild, about their return and the new album.
Dan Swano is one of the living legends in the extreme metal genre and he has always been a hero for me and many more. I got in touch with Swano and asked him if he was willing to do an interview with metal-rules.com which he was. So here come the final result, it’s a long interview with Swano that includes all you need to know about Swano’s career which includes numerous releases with Nightingale, Edge Of Sanity, Bloodbath and Total Terror to mention a few. Swano is also a highly acclaimed producer and mixer which we also talked about. Swano has also released the debut album with crust punk band Total Terror this year which is an album that he originally recorded back in the late 90’s. Here is the first official interview with the amazing Dan Swano in metal-rules.com.

Thanks so much to Dan Swano for doing this interview with me, and for providing me with the promo pictures of himself.
Thanks to Vic Records for providing me with the promo pictures of Total Terror.
Legendary U.S band W.A.S.P. would stir up quite a bit of controversy in their mid 80’s heyday thanks to their explicit lyrics and over-the-top stage show, which many deemed violent and sexist. That controversy would fade in time as the band tamed a bit and many more controversial acts came long, but not before putting the band on the map of the rock world and creating a ton of free publicity. The band released its self titled classic debut in 1984, and wouldn’t stop or even slow down despite some highly disruptive lineup changes and slowly fading album sales. The band has been relentless in their album releases, almost never letting up or even taking a bit of a breather. Their latest effort, 14’th studio album, BABYLON, arrived stores just a couple of months ago. Although this band has faced many ups and downs in its long career they now seem to do extremely well especially here in Scandinavia. In Finland alone, band now sold out four shows and performed altogether in a front of over 6000 WASP maniacs, that’s not so bad on these days isn’t it? In Helsinki we had a chance to sit down with the bands founder and mastermind Blackie Lawless and discuss many current topics including: the new album BABYLON, The Crimson Idol Anniversary –tour, the past, the future, the current global situation, politics and Blackies’ thoughts about retiring… Read on and learn!!

The dark/progressive metal act Andromeda has just released their fourth album THE IMMUNITY ZONE. The band is led by guitarist Johan Reinholdz and I had the pleasure of talking to him. This interview takes a deep look into the vaults of the music of Andromeda and the mind of guitar wizard Johan Reinholdz.
Brian Posehn is a lifelong heavy metal fan in addition to being a popular actor, comedian and comic book writer. It would only make sense then; for Brian to team up with metal musician pals like Scott Ian (Anthrax) Satchel (Steel Panther) Joey Vera (Armored Saint) and John Tempesta (White Zombie, ex-Testament) to record two songs for the 2006 Relapse Records release "Brian Posehn – Live In: Nerd Rage" album. A disc that showcases the stand up routine of heavy metal’s resident funnyman alongside his first musical output. The result is hilarious to say the least, with the single "Metal By Numbers" gawking at "Nu-Metal" and "Emo" posers. The single even spawned a very silly music video.
Now riding a generous wave of notoriety from his work on the hit Comedy Central program "The Sarah Silverman Show" Brian is gearing up to record a follow up record. I caught up with Brian recently on a particularly drizzly afternoon at the second day of this years "Fun Fun Fun Fest" in Austin, Texas where he was performing his stand up routine on an eclectic bill that also featured headliner Danzig and crossover legends D.R.I. amongst indie rock, alternative and hip hop acts.Brian filled me in on how he originally got into metal music, his plan’s for his metal band "Posehn" the upcoming season of "The Sarah Silverman Show" and his recently released zombie comic "The Last Christmas" You can expect quite a bit from Brian next year including a new album, touring and more laughs. Be sure to catch him live when he comes to town!
Here is all you like to know about the new up-rising Swedish sleaze/hard rock act called Pretty Wild. The band have made a name for themselves outside the Scandinavian borders and I thought it was time for the band to be featured in Metal-Rules.com . The interview was made during two sessions, I talked with lead singer Ivve Hoglund and then bassist Kim Chevélle and drummer Johnny Benson took over.

Back in the days Mr. Big was one of the few "shredder" hard rock metal bands that prized song craft as highly as virtuosity. The seeds for the group’s formation were sown when bass player extraordinaire Billy Sheehan (ex-David Lee Roth band, Talas) began piecing together a new outfit with former Racer X guitarist Paul Gilbert, drummer Pat Torpey (Ted Nugent, Impellitteri, Robert Plant), and singer Eric Martin, the latter of who had issued a couple of solo releases in the mid 80’s. By 1989 the band inked a recording contract with Atlantic, resulting in the release of a self-titled debut the same year. The album was a success, especially in Japan, and it included the MTV hit singles "Addicted to That Rush” and ”Wind Me Up”. Their sophomore album LEAN INTO IT was released in 1991 and it was a bigger worldwide success with the help of the mega hit ballad "To Be with You". Their third album BUMP A HEAD came out in 1993 and although it included another hit single "Wild World" (a cover of an old Cat Stevens classic), it failed to reach its predecessors sales figures. During next month’s years Mr. Big did a lot of touring including a tour with Aerosmith in Europe, they had three sold out headline shows in Tokyo’s classic Budokan arena, and played a show in Sao Paulo in front of 100 000 people. HEY MAN was released in 1996 but soon after everybody in the band started to concentrate more and more on other stuff than Mr.Big and as a result the band was on hold for nearly two years. In 1999 Mr. Big decided to reform but at that point Paul Gilbert refused to come back so Mr.Big decided to continue with a new guitarist Ritchie Kotzen (ex-Poison) and later on they released two more albums: GET OVER IT (2000) and ACTUAL SIZE (2001) before they called it quits after a farewell tour in 2002. In February of 2009 it was announced that the original line up of Mr. Big would do a reunion tour in the summer in Japan to celebrate its 20th anniversary of their debut album. As expected, that tour proved to be highly successful and they decided to continue the tour outside of Japan. A twenty-date European tour started on the 9th of September in Tallinn, Estonia. On the next day the band arrived in Helsinki and I had a chance to sit down and talk with Mr.Torpey about the past and possible future of Mr.Big amongst other interesting topics. Read and learn on!
Once again darkness descended over Helsinki when a two night black metal festival was arranged at the Dante’s club in Hellsinki. The line-up looked utterly brilliant for every true black metal maniac. Above all, the headliner of the last night, Blasphemy, was truly beyond the wildest dreams of every raw black metal worshiper. Therefore it wasn’t any surprise that there were people who had traveled all the way from Russia and Italy to feel their true blasphemous attack.
