Los Angeles, CA – October 28, 2010 — Wrapping up one of the most memorable years of the band’s career, SLAYER will make available a previously unreleased track, “Atrocity Vendor,” as part of a special limited-edition 7-inch single. Written by Kerry King, the track was recorded during the 2009 “World Painted Blood” sessions, and will be released on “Black Friday,” November 26, exclusively through Metal Club, the North American indie store consortium that works to connect the metal community with their local “brick and mortar” record stores.
“Atrocity Vendor” will be paired with the Tom Araya/Jeff Hanneman-penned track “World Painted Blood,” and released in a clear sleeve on a red vinyl disc. Go to http://www.mymetalclub.com/ to find a Metal Store record shop near you.
Slayer’s Twenty-Ten has indeed, been quite a year for the band and its fans, beginning with Tom Araya’s successful neck surgery that now has him pain-free, the group’s fourth Grammy nomination, the band’s co-headline “American Carnage” tour with Megadeth, the historical summer series of “Big Four” Sonisphere European concerts, and the recently completed “Jagermeister Fall Music Tour” that Slayer co-headlined with Megadeth and featured Anthrax, the first time in two decades that those three band shared an American stage.
Plans for the band’s 2011 are currently being confirmed, but look for more touring, more music, and more S-L-A-A-A-Y-E-R!!!!!

Commented guitarist Dru Silver: “A big thanks to anyone that came out to see us on the west coast. Anyone who had a hand in putting the shows together, gave us food or shelter, or helped us in any way, your support was invaluable. A special thanks to those who took a chance on our band even though they may have been unfamiliar with us. We hope to see all of you again soon.”
In related news, the band has new merch for sale online. “We’re still mega broke from tour, so any support in that area would be especially awesome,” laughs Silver. Check out the goods here: http://ww.frozendirt.org.
LOCUSTA released their debut full-length via Kentucky-based Pragmatic Records upon an unsuspecting underground earlier this year. The 10-track, self-titled offering was recorded/engineered by Brian Simakis at Capital City Studios, mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound Mastering and features strikingly stark cover art by local artist Stefan Hoza. Formed in the fall of 2006, LOCUSTA take their name from a female chemist from Ancient Rome regarded as the first documented serial killer. It was rumored that in A.D. 54, she may have been hired by Agrippina The Younger to kill the Emperor Claudius, possibly with a poisoned dish of mushrooms. Currently comprised of vocalist Brad Deerhake, guitarists Peter Hughes (Night Soil) and Dru Silver, bassist Scott Hyatt and drummer Simon Tracy, the band’s painstaking DIY sensibility has found them sharing stages with the likes of Coliseum, Skeletonwitch, Finntroll, Demiricous, The Gates of Slumber, Thou and local Columbus metal veterans Deadsea.
The day many thought would never come is finally upon us. Your lords and masters the one and only GWAR will be performing live…(well, taped they may have to censor some stuff out before the masses can view what the band has in store for them) tonight on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. GWAR has made numerous TV appearances throughout their 25 plus year history, but this is the first time the band will be appearing on national late night television. First FOX news, now NBC, what next…?
When asked what he thought about performing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, bellicose bass player Beefcake the Mighty grunted the following:
“As disappointed as we are that we must reschedule our attack on St. Louis, we are simply tickled shitless that we have been invited to perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! One can only assume that our shared insatiable lust for sex and drugs and rock & roll prompted the impish Saturday Night Live alumnus to request we attend his court! Regardless of the reason, we embrace this opportunity to enlist the millions of Late Night viewers into GWAR’s legions of blood-loyal slaves! How fortunate for you all!”
Guitar player Balsac the Jaws of Death also chimed in:
“I feel like Hester Prynne on prom night! I am absolutely giddy to be performing for the crowned queen of late night, her highness, Jimmy Fallon”

PRIMAL FEAR vocalist RALF SCHEEPERS is working on his first solo album. An update from Primal Fear states:
“Today, two fantastic lead guitar solos from none other than Victor Smolski (RAGE) arrived in the recording studio for Ralf’s solo album – thx Victor, killer job!
Achim Koehler has already started to mix the tracks at his Indiscreet Audio Studios in Stuttgart, Germany – more updates on the progress of the music – soon!
Don’t forget, Primal Fear Spain Tour – mid-November – check out the dates!”
Other artists to appear on Scheepers solo release include “Metal” Mike Chlasciak (ROB HALFORD, SABASTIAN BACH), Tim “Ripper” Owens (HAIL!, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH), Sander Gommans (AFTER FOREVER/HDK), and Snowy Shaw (DREAM EVIL, THERION, KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, NOTRE DAME.
About the style of the solo effort, Primal Fear and SINNER bassist Mat Sinner – who is playing bass on the entire record and producing – told BraveWords.com recently: “In part it’s very metal. Very metal. So it will not be Ralf’s ballad album. There were some ballads where Ralf was showing a different kind of music, his talent in music, because he’s playing all the instruments on one song, for example. So you hear him playing guitar, keyboards, so it’s very interesting. But overall I will say it’s a very tough metal album.”

New Jersey henchmen KRIEG embark on their East Coast Quietly Isolated mini-tour with labelmates WOE today, celebrating a four-show romp through the region in support of their new/upcoming Candlelight debuts. The festivities kick off with a free show in Philly tonight, before attacking Providence, New York City and Boston over the next four days, including a Haunting The Chapel/BrooklynVegan-hosted show in Brooklyn this Saturday, where the doors open will open at 11:59 to mark the transition from Mischief Night to Halloween…
KRIEG/WOE Quietly Isolated East Coast Mini-Tour:
10/28/2010 Kung Fu Necktie – Philadelphia, PA
10/29/2010 Machines With Magnets – Pawtucket, RI
10/30/2010 Knitting Factory – Brooklyn, NY
10/31/2010 Ralph’s – Worcester, MA
KRIEG’s The Isolationist was only released into the general population this week, officially marking the sixth official full-length from the notorious USBM unit. The first full-length release since 2006’s heralded Blue Miasma, the material on The Isolationist supersedes anything KRIEG has accomplished to date, the twisted talents of curator N. Imperial showcased through incarnate knowledge of classic US Black Metal torment and molesting it with his own unique visionary insanity. Surrounded by a hand-picked cast of assassins for the recording of the album — including guitarist Joseph Van Fossen (Noctuary), bassist Wrest (Leviathan), and drummer Chris Grigg (Woe), and recorded/produced by Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium, Pelican, Yakuza) — Imperial has crafted an album that has reaped rave reviews from diehards and critics worldwide, and set a new standard for KRIEG as a whole.
Plans of more stateside touring, as well as much more news from both KRIEG and WOE are in the planning stages.
Irremediable is the third full-length from black metal miscreants CONSPIRACY. Featuring Dutch mastermind Carpathian Wolf (ex-Melechesh) with German composer/orchestrator Aryan Blaze, CONSPIRACY returns with a mesmerizing offering of dense, deep-seated melodic passages, laced with all the brutality for which the band is known; one of CONSPIRACY‘s most intimate albums to date.
Irremediable was recorded, mixed and mastered entirely at Carpathian Wolf’s own Q-Sonic studio in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and features stunning artwork and layout by Warmaster of Necrodaemon. The cover art is based on a painting by Belgian Satanist painter Félicien Rops (1833-1898) and is strongly influenced by the dark poetry of Alister Crowley and Charles Baudelaire. View cover art HERE. For fans of King Diamond, Bathory, early Cradle Of Filth etc.
Irremediable Track Listing:
01. Nocturnal Hunters
02. Overture (Instrumental)
03. Black Mass

05. The Pentagram
06. The Invocation Of Hecate

Italian metal merchants Mastercastle have just made available their new promo video for the title track of their second album “Last Desire”.
Led by the soaring vocals of Giorgia Gueglio, the gifted guitar work of Pier Gonella and the tight rhythmic interplay of bassist Steve Vawamas and drummer Alessandro Bissa, Mastercastle made a strong impression with their debut album – the 2009 release “The Phoenix” – and returned with an even more impressive follow up in June 2010 with “Last Desire”.
Guitarist/vocalist Ashmedi of Mesopotamian blackened thrash pioneers MELECHESH, has issued the fourth of several track by track explanations of songs from their forthcoming album. The Epigenesis was released on October 1st in Europe and on October 26th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.
8. Illumination – The Face of Shamash
“This was the first song written for this album. As soon as I had the demo in my hands I sighed in relief. This was the beginning; the first stone in the sonic ziggurat known as The Epigenesis. I recorded several Tibetan monk types of chanting. The song goes into a blast beat while the drum pedals still maintain one of the middle eastern drum counts. It’s an aggressive song yet it still offers breaks with mid eastern melodies. The lyrics relate to my hallucinating but enlightening encounter with the Mesopotamian sun god Shamash. A lot of metaphors here! In the mid east shams means sun in Arabic and Shemesh means the same thing in Hebrew. The songs builds up to a very dramatic and epic ending. We tried this live last February. It had no title and no lyrics. Now we look forward to taking this song to the stage with a proud title and insane singing.”
9. Negative Theology
“How can I describe this? Many jump to conclusions before understanding the concept. Is theology negative? I say often it is. The principle of it is to provide people with a set of guidelines and hopes which is not so bad. But when looking at the amounts of dead people due to it you have to think! But regardless of this issue, does the song title refer to this? I answer no. Negative theology actually is a system of negating what is NOT divine, with the hopes of discovering the divine in the end. This is a thinking system used in every belief! We used it for discovering the actions of the Annunaki or any creators if there are any! This song was done with 12 string guitars and has very technical drumming and dynamics. The song offers some neck breaking black metal rhythms. I composed this song at the same time I was on a HEAVEN AND HELL high. Coincidentally and fatefully I was doing the vocals in the studio when I was interrupted and was told DIO had passed away. I could not work anymore that day so I got a drink and then I tried to record some vocals as a tribute. It was hard. So we stopped the session after a few hours and called it a night.”

New Orleans heavy metal act haarp has just posted a brand new track on their MySpace page, entitled ‘All, Alone’. The track is cut from their upcoming new album, The Filth, to be released on November 23rd, 2010 on HOUSECORE RECORDS. The band has also posted the never-before-seen album art on their MySpace page, illustrated by famed artist and tattoo master Paul Booth. The Filth is produced by label owner Philip Anselmo.
“When Phil called me all excited about this new brutality and its unique concepts he needed cover art for, I could immediately tell his conviction and excitement far surpassed his usual dark vigor,” recalls album artist Paul Booth. “Of course, I was in. Once Keith presented me with one of haarp’s lyrical concepts in regards to Gluttony, it was actually amazing to me how similar their ideas were to my own. This collaborative vision was meant to be, as far as I was concerned. I look forward to creating more art to this slow and painfully twisted epic of doom.”
On August 27th, 2005, two of New Orleans’ extreme metal bands, manic grind freaks rat in a bucket and black metal blazers De Capa Preta, were slated to play a show at the now defunct Dixie Taverne in the heart of Mid-City. Due to ‘inclement weather’ and the threat of Hurricane Katrina making landfall, the bands decided that since many people were evacuating the city, the show could not go on.
Hurricane Katrina struck and devastated the Gulf Coast region and effected many aspects of people’s lives. The music scene in New Orleans was not spared from this change and many bands, including rat in a bucket and De Capa Preta, suffered members departing the band, and ultimately calling it quits.
Keith Sierra Jr., drummer from rat in a bucket, and Grant Tom, guitarist from De Capa Preta, got in contact with each other from their temporary locations and discussed the state of the music scene. After digging up old conversations and ideas they had discussed at various local shows, they decided to return to New Orleans and start a new band. This new band would approach music from a new direction from the speed and chaos of their respective previous bands, and focus more on mid-tempo and slower music. The immediate choice for vocalist was Shaun Emmons of rat in a bucket, who shared the varied and eclectic musical tastes of Keith and Grant. Several tryouts later, Ryan Pomes of Milktoast joined the group and finalized the lineup as bassist.
“To call haarp “slow” would be somewhat fair, but to say that they’re just “another slow band” would be sacrilege,” states label owner Philip Anselmo. “Their music is crushing, resolute, dramatic and conceptually insane. If critics are going to try and lump them into any one genre, than they’d better put the crown on haarp’s collective heads once it’s picked. This ain’t Doom Metal by any stretch. haarp makes playing halftime sound like an original idea all over again. This music is essential.”
Shaun Emmons- Vocals
Grant Tom – Guitar
Ryan Pomes – Bass
Keith Sierra – Drums
