Dick Siebert, The Bassist of The Brazilian Thrashers KORZUS
(Additional questions answered by guitarist Silvio Golfetti)
Interview by Arto Lehtinen
An interview series of The Brazilian metal bands continues again. Korzus being one of the longest running thrash metal bands from Brazil was definitely a logical choice for Metal-Rules.Com. Korzus has struggled year after year by putting out killer releases for example their latest output TIES OF BLOOD was a great slab of brutal and grove influenced thrashing metal. Even though Korzus isn’t widely known, the five piece Brazilian metal squad constantly keeps gigging all around Brazil and other South American countries. Therefore it was a great opportunity to interview Korzus’s founding member and bassist Dick Siebert to find out more about this legendary Brazilian thrash metal combo.

Chris Bailey, ex-vocalist of
Interview by Luxi Lahtinen
The legendary Canadian thrashers Infernäl Mäjesty´s new interview was published through Metal-Rules.com in March 2006 in which both the band´s longtime guitarist Kenny Hallman and new, young frontman and throat torturer, Brian Langley, shed some light on Infernäl Mäjesty´s current situation. They especially spoke enthusiastically about the new Infernäl Mäjesty album in the works, titled SYSTEMATICAL EXTERMINATION.
The band changed vocalists with Brian Langley replacing Chris Bailey who was in the band on and off for 17 years. Naturally it was inquired as to what happened with him and what his primary reasons were for leaving the band.
Shortly after the interview was published in Metal-Rules.com, Chris Bailey, the ex-vocalist for Infernäl Mäjesty, contacted me via email, telling me if I wanted to know the real reason why he was not with them any longer, I could reach him at his email address for more info. I did because I felt like it´s always justified to hear from both of the parties impartially, giving both a fair chance to to explain how things were seen from their own points of view.
I need to remind all of you Metal-Rules.com does not take any responsibility for either Kenny´s or Chris´s sayings how truthful they are or are not; who´s telling the truth and who´s lying about what. This all will be left up to you, dear reader, to decide; you draw your own conclusions out of these two fellows´ stories.
Chris Bailey opens up for Metal-Rules.com exclusively and tells his own story about his leaving from Infernäl Mäjesty, so let´s hear him out…

This interview is dedicated to the Nasty Idols front man and founder Andy Pierce from Malmö, Sweden. The band has recently released a compilation with material taken from 3 of their 4 studio albums recorded between the years 1989-1995. I had a chat with Andy where we discussed the bands past, present and future and we also talked about Andy’s projects besides Nasty Idols.

Singer Marc Storace was originally born on the Island of Malta in 1951. At the age of 19 he moved to London while he was trying to start his musical career but only one year later, in 1971, he ended up in a Swiss band called TEA. Together they released three studio albums and toured a lot, mostly in Switzerland but also in U.K and other European countries. In 1976, Marc moved back to London and formed another band called Eaze Money but they never make it big time. A few years later in 1979 Marc was invited to join another Swiss band KROKUS and things really started to change. The band sold millions of records during their “heydays” in the early eighties and up to this date they are still the most successfull Swiss band of all time. Albums like HEADHUNTER, ONE VICE AT TIME and HARDWARE are highly praised hard rock classics. Unfortunately things started to go bad at the very end of the eighties and after several line up changes and some less than successfull albums the band broke up in1989. After the breakup in the early nineties, Marc did several projects and albums with such names and artists as China, Glenn Hughes and Amen. Althought the band did a brief reunion and one studio album in 1995 things really started to roll again in 2003 when KROKUS released their highly acclaimed ROCK THE BLOCK album which went directly to number one in Switzerland and did quite well in the rest of the world. Then, after two very succesfull years of touring and the release of another live albun FIRE AND GASOLINE, lead guitarist and only remaining founder member, Fernando von Arb surprisingly decided to leave KROKUS. Against many expectations the band decided to carry on and they hired old friend Mandy Mayer ( ex -ASIA, Katmandu,Gotthard) , who used to play in KROKUS in 1981, to be their new lead guitar player. At the moment, in the sping of 2006, KROKUS are once again in the studio putting the final touches on the upcoming studio album which should be out in the upcoming months. I met Marc in Stockholm last December and here are the results of our long and interesting discussion about the past, present and future of Marc Storace and KROKUS.

UNDER RAVEN SKIES was a festival organized by people from Wagga Wagga—half way between Sydney and Melbourne—in the name of the MS Society. What better way to increase the street cred of metal in this hell on Earth than by demonstrating a social conscience.

Icarus Witch from Pittsburgh definitely came out of blue with the brilliant debut Ep release ROSES ON WHITE LANCE. The four piece has continued their traditional heavy metal crusade on the first full-length album titled CAPTURE THE MAGIC. Therefore it was about time to get a hold of the founding member and the bassist of Icarus Witch, Jason Myers, to find out more about the band. Icarus Witch definitely stands for the good old traditional heavy metal by swearing into names of several classic metal legends, which can be without any doubts heard in their music. Both of the outputs of Icarus Witch just prove the band’s ability to create memorable songs.

Moyses Kolesne – The guitarist of Brazilian Death Metal commandos Krisiun
Interview & live pictures by Arto Lehtinen & Luxi Lahtinen
The relentless Brazilian Death Metal trio, Krisiun, finally made it to Finland. Frankly, it was about the time. Unfortunately it needs to be said Krisiun’s name hasn’t been carved to the Finnish Death Metal heads’ that much yet (or so it seems to be), which was proved by a relatively lame attendance at both of the gigs in Finland. However, regardless of this somewhat low attendance to both of their gigs, the band’s guitarist Moyses Kolesne turned out to be a real humble person and extremely excited about having a chance to play in Finland for the first time in Krisiun´s history. So keeping this in our minds, the timing was pretty ideal for us to talk with him about the band, about all those things that have gotten them this far – and especially about Krisiun´s latest output ASSASSINATION which is another piece of evidence of these three Brazilian brothers´ skills to write catchy and ear-nailing Death Metal.
Now let´s give Moyses a chance to tell more about this murderous, all-devastating Brazilian war machine called Krisiun…

“The Sentinel” KILLgast from the horror-oozing metallers DOMINATION BLACK
Interview and live pictures by Luxi Lahtinen
Domination Black, this horror-oozing thrashy Heavy Metal band, which comes from a small town named Karhula, located in 60:30:05N (60.5014) Lon: 26:56:58E (26.9495), was one of the most promising and interesting newcomers in the world of metal last year. They managed to impress me hugely both with their 4 song “Fear ReloaDEAD” demo and especially with the band´s debut album titled “Fearbringer”. Domination Black´s most distinctive trademark is undoubtedly Mr. “The Sentinel” KILLgast who fronts Domination Black against his will (well, sort of), and who has already been compared to such greats in Heavy Metal as Rob Halford, Tim “The Ripper” Owens and even King Diamond. Luckily all of his other band mates also seem to match together so well that they all create a killer musical incarnation. “Fearbringer” speaks for all the great things that may be ahead for them, but let´s not predict the future any further for Domination Black as it´s a bit unneccessary at this point in the beginning of their road.
Metal-Rules.com inquired from the band´s vocalist “The Sentinel” KILLgast how the band got started, their plans for the future amongst a host of other things – and “The Sentinel” KILLgast took the opportunity to open some sealed and secret doors into Domination Black´s realms of madness and chaos…

Including Dark Funeral, Naglfar and Amoral to the same touring package would have been believed to be a strong concept to sell a lot of tickets. But when entering the club before the domestic Amoral kicked the set off, it was quite odd to see only a handful of people having arrived on time before the Finnish metal virtuoses got on the stage. Obviously setting a metal gig on Tuesday ain’t the most idealistic date to lure people to see bands in action. After all, according to the rough estimate, about over 300 black metal freaks had crawled to testify these bands on the stage. Frankly the whole touring band package was rather an interesting mix of different metal genres. As Amoral stands more for the technical death metal oriented approach whereas Naglfar’s style is a lethal mix of the vicious death/black metal combination, whereas Dark Funeral is nothing but a total “punch direct to the face” black metal assault without any mercy.

Karl and Konstantin from the Swedish old school Death Metal squad KAAMOS
Kaamos, this old school Death Metal foursome from Sweden, is undoubtedly highly respected and appreciated amongst so-called true Death Metal crowd these days who are being able to capture all those musical elements tightly together one by one that are essential and vital for this kind of Death Metal. When the band hails such Death Metal pioneers as Possessed, Autopsy, Grotesque, Dismember and the likes as their main influences, it?s pretty obvious which school Kaamos comes from.
The band?s latest album, apptly titled LUCIFER RISING on Candlelight Records, is a great effort to prove what makes old school Death Metal so old school sounding that it manages to throw you through a time gate back in time; back to those times where bands like Autopsy, Morbid Angel, Incubus, Grotesque and such wicked and grotesque sounding old school Death Metal leagues reigned supreme. Kaamos has found that precious heritage of the old school Death Metal legends, and they are doing amazingly good with it.
I hooked up with both band?s vocalist and bassist Karl and guitarist Konstantin before their show in Helsinki 4th of February 2006, and we talked about one of our favorite common topics ?old school Death Metal? what it is all about – amongst other things, and lots of Kaamos -related issues were naturally touched upon as well.

Kenny Hallman & Brian Langley of INFERNÄL MÄJESTY
Interview by Luxi Lahtinen
Pics taken from www.infernalmajesty.com
If you have been wondering what´s been happening in the camp of Canadian legendary thrashers Infernäl Mäjesty for these last 3-4 months, I guess it doesn´t come as too big a surprise to anyone that the band has been working slowly, but determinedly with their 4th full-lenght album titled SYSTEMATICAL EXTERMINATION in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. This will also mark the debut of band’s new vocalist Brian Langley. Infernäl Mäjesty´s longtime vocalist Chris Bailey left the band, to say at least under very strange circumstances in late 2004, and apparently Chris continues his life in Toronto even if no one seems to be completely certain about his presice location nowadays. Hope he´s doing alright tho…
Brian (also a singer in his other band Mecha Messiah), however, is a relatively young guy full of vital energy and potential whose slot in Infernäl Mäjesty as a new frontman also came as a huge surprise for him, too. But nonetheless, he has done his job in the band more than well as a real pro thus far as far as all the positive feedback from the fans´ direction is concerned, so the whole band is undoubtedly standing firmly and strongly for sure. And as each of us should already know, the fans cannot be wrong, so don´t go questioning that tiny fact… ever! ;=)
I contacted both Kenny Hallman and Brian Langley just a short while ago and wanted to get all the latest, updated news about the recordings for SYSTEMATICAL EXTERMINATION, the band´s touring plans for this year, all the reasons why Chris actually left – amongst other ´hot topics´. Both Kenny and Brian were more than eager to give their best shots about the latest happenings of Infernäl Mäjesty, so let´s just read what they had to say about probably the hottest potato in their mouths at the very moment, the band´s eagerly-waited new record SYSTEMATICAL EXTERMINATION…
