GOD DETHRONED - "Under The Sign Of The Iron Cross"
Mighty Dutch death metallers GOD DETHRONED have announced that Bravewords.com will be premiering the second track from Under the Sign of the Iron Cross, Storm Of Steel! The song perpetuates Henri Sattler’s lyrical WWI theme and describes what it was like to go over the trench and be a part of a charge in the war of attrition style warfare for which WWI was best known. Musically, the song is just as much of a barrage of steel and iron to aurally represent the machine gun and artillery fire experience! Listen to Storm Of Steel now at Bravewords.com HERE!
Under the Sign of the Iron Cross, the bands 9th album, was recorded at the Soundlodge Studios in Leer, Germany.
Comments singer/guitarist Henri Sattler: “Musically the new album turned out to be one of the most extreme records we ever did. Nevertheless with the very recognizable God Dethroned hooks present in all the songs.Producer Joerg Uken outdid himself this time, because our new album is in my opinion the best produced album we ever had. Extremely raw, heavy, but crystal clear and super dynamic at the same time.”
‘Under The Sign Of The Iron Cross’ track listing:
1. The Declaration of War
2. Storm of Steel
3. Fire Storm
4. The Killing is Faceless
5. Under the Sign of the Iron Cross
6. Chaos Reigns at Dawn
7. Through Byzantine Hemispheres
8. The Red Baron

Brooklyn, New York-based triple-guitar led sludge merchants HULL recently came out of hiding to play a surprise CMJ performance with Kylesa at Public Assembly on their home turf. The crushing performance brought with it an unexpected, brand new, as-yet-untitled track from the band’s upcoming full-length. Check it out HERE.
HULL have been holed up at an undisclosed location working on the follow-up to their Sole Lord debut, issued via The End Records in 2009. The unsung five-piece’s difficult-to-pinpoint but ultimately all-consuming brand of post-hardcore/sludge metal continues to draw praise from the masses. Metal Hammer said the band sit, “…somewhere between the somnambulant art metal of Neurosis, the clattering abrasive prog of Mastodon and the raging doom rock of High On Fire,” while a Sole Lord review from The Sleeping Shaman insists, “HULL can barely be contained within the confines of a mere CD, their ideas, energy and exuberance flow forth and threaten to break free and cause all manner of trouble.” Added The Dreaded Press: “Because you can hear as clear as day that HULL have no shortage of musical skill available to them, not just in the guitar work and drumming but in their ear for song structures that keep things moving, making shifts from down-tuned bludgeon to gentle clean-tone tapping lines or subtle tonal swells seem not just effortless but utterly appropriate.”
HULL‘s sophomore full-length will be co-produced by Brett Romnes (who played drums on the band’s long coveted Viking Funeral EP, initially self-released in 2007) and mixed by Bill Anderson (Sleep, High On Fire, Neurosis, EHG, Melvins et al). A May 2011 street date is expected.
Check out additional footage of the band playing “Viking Funeral” (Movement #2) HERE.
Further updates on HULL‘s recording process will be announced in the coming weeks.

Hate Eternal is working on their fifth studio album (second for Metal Blade Records) and follow up to Fury & Flames once again at Erik Rutan’s own Mana Recording Studios. JJ Hrubovcak has been added as the band’s bassist and the devastating combo of Erik Rutan on guitar and Jade Simonetto on drums is at work once again. The album promises to be one of the most intense death metal albums of 2011.
Front man Erik Rutan offers the following update: “The band has been locked up in Mana Recording Studios doing pre-production for the past 2 months, finishing up songs that we have been writing over the last year in between tours and albums that I’ve produced, and we feel we have come up with one of Hate Eternal’s heaviest, most twisted, evil, melodic, and insane albums yet.
It was my goal to expand upon what the band has done in the past, and add new dynamics and twists to the traditional, dissonant Hate Eternal style, yet keep it in the same vein. It took the three of us really pushing ourselves, and digging deep into the essence of who we are as musicians and writers and players to create something very unique and special. We cannot wait for everyone to hear what we have in store. Look out for updates from the studio over the next few months.”

DoA shot on location at the Bissman Building in Mansfield, Ohio, which is widely rumored to be haunted and was recently featured on an episode of the Syfy Channel’s Ghost Hunters.

Having returned home safely from their Midwestern mini-tour, Atlanta sludge demons SONS OF TONATIUH are stoked to announce the next bout of live happenings to round out 2010 (and usher in 2011). Elaborated drummer Tim Genius: “We’d first like to report that the tour was a resounding success. Thank you in no small part to the hospitality of our label boss at Hydrophonic, the rad bands we shared bills with and the swell folks we met along the way. A special thanks is due to our driver and road-man extraordinaire, Greg who delivered us safe, if not sound. We wish the same could be said for a certain feline representative of Grand Rapids who had a bit of a run-in with our van. That part was a bummer.
So we’re back in Atlanta, and after a couple of days, we’ve got the inevitable ‘ants-in-our-pants’ associated with a post-super fun road trip. What did we do? The only thing we know to do. We booked a tour. That’s right, come January 6 SONS OF TONATIUH will be heading out for a ten-day stretch from Florida to Texas and back. And what will we do with ourselves until then? Well, how about a particular hometown gig with fellow southern teetotalers, Eyehategod? And if that wasn’t enough, what if we told you that our pals and recent touring accomplices Phobia would be there too? That’s right. Sludge legends, Eyehategod AND grind pioneers, Phobia with SONS OF TONATIUH at The Earl in Atlanta, December 4, 2010!
That’s all for now. But do yourselves a favor. Let’s see you there! Or just do it for the Mr. Wiggles.”

SONS OF TONATIUH — drummer Tim Genius, guitarist/vocalist Dan Caycedo, bassist Mike Tunno and guitarist/vocalist Darby Wilson — unleashed their self-titled debut full-length via Michigan’s Hyodrophonic Records earlier this year. Engineered by Jay Matheson (Kylesa, Black Tusk) at the legendary Jam Room Studio in Columbia, South Carolina, the crushing eight-track long player features the artwork of Rodney Githens and is available on CD as well as blue and gold-colored wax.
Swedish black/death battalion TRIDENT have unleashed the first official video from their blistering Regain Records-released World Destruction debut, for the track “Jaws Of Satan.”
“To make this video we used a good friend of ours; Carlos from Blackshadows” stated TRIDENT bassist Alexander Friberg. “He is a talented artist with a good eye for the visual. He is the guy behind Blackshadows Tattoos & Blackshadows Film Production [www.black-shadows.com]. We wanted to do a raw and rough video that suites the sound and energy of the song and I think we nailed it!”

Canadian leading artists in modern metal tunes are coming with a vengeance! THREAT SIGNAL intense metal songs have skyrocketed up the internet charts, ignited an international fan base and earned them a worldwide deal with powerhouse Nuclear Blast Records.
Although the band took a quite long break after the release of the highly acclaimed breaking debut album “Under Reprisal”, THREAT SIGNAL have worked hard and intensively on their second strike. “Vigilance” takes modern metal to another level of brutality, diversity, depth and intensity, with loads of thrash influences, a little bit of Swedish upper class metal, shattering screams and perfectly set up clean vocal lines.
This prompted THREAT SIGNAL to fly over the old continent to launch their first European tour with a promise to include lots of past songs into their set list and to hang out in the crowd all nights long.
Lifeforce Records futuristic metallers RAUNCHY and vicious industrial groove masters SYBREED comprise major support acts in this Threat Over Europe Tour. Hitting the road with THREAT SIGNAL are also special guests M.A.N and IN COLD BLOOD.
