Black Sheep frontman Willie Basse has been added as direct support to George Lynch’s upcoming tour with Lynch Mob throughout January and February. Basse is touring in support of his new single, “Break Away” featuring Lynch on guitars and Scorpions James Kottak on drums, which has been released through iTunes and all digital retailers.
Basse says, “It’s great to work with George again. He’s the hardest working man in rock! I am very excited to be able to support him & Oni Logan in a serious format, while having fun doing what I love. This tour will melt your ass and set the pace for much larger things to come in the near future.”
Basse is best known for his role as bassist/frontman for legendary metalheads Black Sheep, who were mainstays on the Los Angeles Sunset Strip during the ‘80s metal explosion. It’s a great pleasure that we can announce a new entry in Spider Rock’s roster, of a bright Italian band: LUNOCODE!
They play an eclectic female fronted power/prog metal, with a fist-rate taste and polished arrangements, where many influences can be seen: very first Dream Theater, Stratovarius, Ayreon and Angra. The band has been known since six and more years with the monicker Anima, which has been changed on the occasion of this new adventure under the aegis of Spider Rock, and it’s going to release its very first debut EP.
“Last Day Of The Earth“, this is the title of the new album, will be released on 20 January 2011 under Spider Rock, and will be distributed worldwide through Believe Digital channels.
Mixed by Davide Fatemi (Povia, one of the most appreciated Italian rock singers) and mastered by Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson) in Los Angeles, “Last Day Of The Earth” is a deep and philosophical concept, and is to be considered as an opener for the next album, whose material is near to be completed.
The cover artwork, made on pictures of Andrea Brizi (http://www.myspace.com/andreabrizi), who created this masterpieces specifically for this record at the request of the band.
MR. BIG is back to announce their highly anticipated new studio album entitled « What If… » on February 8, 2011on Frontiers Records.
«What If… » is MR. BIG’s first all original album since the reunion of the four original members, Eric Martin, Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan and Pat Torpey back in early 2009. Sixteen years after the release of « Hey Man », the new recording is set to bring back MR. BIG on the height of the current Hard Rock scene.
Guitarist Paul Gilbert said: “This is the first MR. BIG album I have been a part of, since fourteen years and it was done in a snap. It was fun and we had really a good time in making this one”. Continues Billy Sheehan “It’s so great to be back with Paul, Eric and Pat too. We wrote this record like we did in the old days for the first 2 records. Jamming together in the same room to write songs”. Pat Torpey adds ““Some of the recording process is different now from what we were used to in the old times. But I think this record really managed to capture the performances of the band, not of the individual musicians”.
Eric Martin concludes: “I like to compare this to the first album, when we just got to know each other in a reharsal studio and cut it in 8 or 9 days. This is like chapter 2. We had so many years, so many records and so many things behind us. Now this feels like a beautiful brand new chapter starting for all of us”.
« What If… » was produced by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Rush, Iron Maiden) and the release will be followed by a World Tour which will kick off in South America in March and will hit Europe in early summer.
Formed in 1988, Mr. Big forged its place in hard rock history by combining trademark “shredding” musicianship with awesome vocal harmonies. The original line-up – vocalist Eric Martin, guitarist Paul Gilbert, bassist Billy Sheehan, and drummer Pat Torpey. Mr. Big produced numerous hit songs that ranged across a wide array of rock genres – be it ballads, heavy metal, or blues rock.
Their hits included “To Be With You” (Billboard Hot 100 number one single in 15 countries for weeks, in 1991, propelling the band the band to huge international success and record sales in the multi-millions), “Wild World”, Green-Tinted sixties Mind”, “Just Take My Heart”, and a host of heavy metal songs that were played mostly during their live performances: “Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy”, “Addicted to that Rush”, “Colorado Bulldog”, and “Take Cover”.
“What If…” will be released in a special edition CD + DVD in digipak, regular CD, vinyl and digital download and in a limited edition luxury box including the CD, DVD, LP and exclusive memorabilia.
“What If…” tracklisting includes: Undertow; American Beauty; Stranger In My Life; Nobody Takes the Blame; Still Ain’t Enough for Me; Once Upon a Time; As Far As I Can See; All The Way Up; I Won’t Get In My Way; Around The World; I Get The Feeling; Unforgiven (exclusive bonus track for Europe / North America – not on vinyl edition).
The DVD will include the videoclips of “Undertow” and “All the Way Up” plus a documentary “Making of” the album including interviews and exclusive behind the scenes features of the four members.
HD TRAILER FOR BAND’s NEW MUSIC VIDEO “WAS IT WORTH IT?” NOW AVAILABLE
CHILDREN OF BODOM (also COB), the hard partying Finnish Heavy Metal band that features frontman and modern day guitar hero Alexi Laiho will release its new album Relentless Reckless Forever on March 8, 2011 via Universal Music. Today, COB reveals the album’s cover art, which can be viewed now at this location.
Recorded in Finland’s Petrax Studios with famed rock producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Monster Magnet), Relentless Reckless Forever is the seventh studio album of CHILDREN OF BODOM’s illustrious career and the first new record from the band since 2008’s Blooddrunk, which debuted at #22 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart and scored the quintet its third consecutive #1 debut in Finland. On Relentless Reckless Forever, COB’s high-energy hooks and electric energy forge stadium-sized heavy metal anthems that seethe with both marvelous musicianship and a phenomenal pop prowess. The quintet’s unique union of haunting melodies, rhythmic sensibility, guitar-and-keyboard interplay and king-size solos is supercharged to the maximum, and the resulting record is poised to push the band – already on the brink of breakout success in the U.S. – to an altogether new pinnacle.
“We worked super hard on this album, at least for me it was pretty much no sleep or rest for six weeks,” stated Laiho. “But we were determined to make the best COB album ever, so we were willing to do whatever it took. Of course, having our producer Matt Hyde kicking our asses 24/7 definitely made the results even better, so obviously we’re more than anxious to get this album out there”
The first single and video from Relentless Reckless Forever is “Was it Worth It?”. COB shot a high energy music video for the track, joining forces with two-time X Games gold medalist and two-time Thrasher Magazine “Skater of the Year” Chris Cole as well as noted pro skaters Jamie Thomas, Garrett Hill and Tom Asta (the current #1 Amateur skateboarder in the world). Filmed on location at central Pennsylvania’s residential Action Sports compound Camp Woodward and directed by Dale Resteghini for Raging Nation Films (Pink Floyd, Santana, Mötley Crüe), the video was shot guerrilla style, sans treatment; honing in directly on CHILDREN OF BODOM’s high-spirited fire and the skaters’ eye-opening execution. A high resolution trailer for the clip can be viewed now at www.relentlessrecklessforever.com.
The track listing for CHILDREN OF BODOM’s Relentless Reckless Forever is as follows:
1.) Not My Funeral
2.) Shovel Knockout
3.) Roundtrip to Hell and Back
4.) Pussyfoot Miss Suicide
5.) Relentless Reckless Forever
7.) Cry of the Nihilist
8.) Was It Worth It?
9.) Northpole Throwdown
10.) Party All the Time (* Eddie Murphy)
“The single ‘Was It Worth It?’ is a total party song, said Laiho. “It’s not your typical Bodom sound, but it’s one of my favorites and heavy as hell.”
In addition to Laiho, CHILDREN OF BODOM features Roope Latvala (guitar), Jaska Raatikainen (drums), Henkka Seppälä (bass) and Janne Warman (keyboards).
About CHILDREN OF BODOM:
CHILDREN OF BODOM’s enthralling mix of modern heavy metal, melodic hooks and the guitar acrobatics of Laiho have solidified the critically acclaimed Finnish band as one of the most revered hard rock acts in the world and one of the leading voices of metal’s new generation. The group’s 2008 studio album Blooddrunk skyrocketed to #22 on Billboard’s Top 200, scored the quintet its third consecutive #1 debut in its native Finland and saw Laiho named “Best Metal Guitarist” by the readers of Guitar World, besting well known players such as Kirk Hammett of Metallica to win the coveted award. CHILDREN OF BODOM has been called “technically dazzling” by the New York Times and “One of the most talented metal bands of our time” by contemporary media conglomerate VICE. COB’s popular song “If You Want Peace…Prepare for War” is currently featured in the smash hit music video game Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The band’s name is derived from the infamous Lake Bodom murders, which took place in Finland in 1960.

Mesopotamian thrashing black metal pioneers MELECHESH are currently headed for Istanbul, Turkey to shoot the music video for the track “Grand Gathas Of Baal Sin”. The song comes from the bands brand new masterpiece The Epigenesis and will be shot by Canadian director Rouzbeh Heydari. Director of cinematography and producer are Emin Murat Kılıç and Tumay Irgas.
Commented mainman Ashmedi: “We decided to film in Istanbul in order to capitalize on the suitable and real scenery and avoid a greenscreen, the location is surreal. Choosing to film in Istanbul also keeps us in line with The Epigenesis photo shoot and recording which were both done here. Rouzbeh, the director, flew in from Canada today and the whole band will arrive tonight. Friday we will do some pre production, Saturday and Sunday we will be shooting in two different locations. We chose ‘Grand Gathas of Baal Sin’ because it has all of the desired elements; speed, thrashiness, aggression, mysticism and middle eastern ritualistic beats and parts.”
MELECHESH will be direct support to ROTTING CHRIST on their tour next March/April 2011. Joining them will be polish death metallers HATE, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, and LECHEROUS NOCTURNE. Reduced service charge tickets are now available through EnterTheVault.com.

The Epigenesis was recorded in the newly built first class Babajim Studios in Istanbul, Turkey. The album was mixed by Reuben de Lautour and mastered by Pieter Snapper. In an unprecedented move in metal, the band chose to record the album entirely in Istanbul in an attempt to capture the inspiring surroundings. Babajim Studios is run by some of the most elite sound engineers in Turkey.
The artwork (attached) to their long awaited 5th album was handled by renowned UK based occult artist John Coulthart, whom the band has previously collaborated with before.
The Epigenesis was released on October 1st in Europe and on October 26th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.
TMD has obtained an extremely rare audience recording from one of the earliest known MEGADETH shows at The Stone in San Francisco, California on February 19, 1984. The lineup features a young, foul-mouthed Dave Mustaine on guitar and vocals, along with future SLAYER member Kerry King on guitar, David “Junior” Ellefson on bass guitar, and Lee Rausch on Drums.
Live for Metal...Die for Megadeth!
After having got the boot from METALLICA, Mustaine was definitely out to prove himself and you can hear all the truly over-the-top arrogance and then some from a baby Dave on this historic cut.

Today Stereokiller premieres “Zoo Human Syndrome,” from blackthrash trio THE WRETCHED END.
THE WRETCHED END features ex-Emperor/ex-Zyklon guitarist Samoth, Mindgrinder/ex-Scum guitarist Cosmo and ex-Dark Funeral/ex-Aeon drummer Nils Fjellström. “Zoo Human Syndrome” comes off the band’s recently released Candlelight debut entitled Ominous.
Said Samoth of the track: “‘Zoo Human Syndrome’ is the last song on the album, and it’s one of my favorites actually. It’s quite melodic and atmospheric with a more epic feel. This one definitely has some black metal influences and I feel at this point that we’ll be working more within this territory for newer material. Conceptually, it deals with nature deficit disorder. Basically, it’s the soundtrack to zoo-like humans trapped in the digital chaos of the modern world. In today’s society we are stuck in small boxes, be it offices, shopping malls, etc. where we get hit by insane amounts of flickering lights of all kinds of so called ‘important’ information. We are removed from nature.”
THE WRETCHED END formed in 2008 as a creative collaboration between Samoth and Cosmo, who previously worked together in deathpunk project Scum. In addition, Cosmo played bass with Zyklon when the band toured Europe 2001 with Morbid Angel. The two have long spoken about an extreme metal project and thus, THE WRETCHED END was born.

The full list can be seen at: http://www.noisecreep.com/2010/12/06/top-10-metal-songs-of-2010/.

This Friday night (12/10) at 8PM EST, All Hail Hair will welcome Robert Mason, the lead vocalist of Warrant! Hosted by Bob Carroll and Francis, the guys will speak to Mason about his history in the music world and now his time with Warrant. Also joining the guys will be special co-host, Diopriest Radio’s Alex Alvarez. The show always welcomes listener participation, so call in at (347) 202-0832.
Warrant first broke onto the music scene with the 1989 album “Dirty, Rotten, Flithy, Stinking Rich” an album that spawned three hits, “Down Boys”, “Sometimes She Cries” and the 80’s top power ballad “Heaven”. They followed that album up with another strongly performing album, “Cherry Pie” which contained the title track, their biggest selling hit. Also included on that album were the hits “I Saw Red” and Bob’s favorite Warrant song “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. The early 90’s brought a change to the music scene and with it, the music of bands like Warrant was affected, yet the band still produced another incredible effort in the 1992 release “Dog Eat Dog”. Two more albums were recorded after this, 1995’s “Ultraphonic” and 1996’s “Belly To Belly” before the band splintered apart. The band re-grouped in 2000 and released the album “Under the Influence” in 2001. That would be the last album with vocalist Jani Lane as he left in 2004 to pursue solo projects. Lane was replaced by Jamie St. James, lead vocalist of the very underrated “Black N Blue”, from 2004-2008, releasing “Born Again”. In 2008 Warrant re-grouped the line-up from its most popular days, to include Jani Lane and set out on tour. That reunion was not to last long as Lane once again departed from Warrant. The band went on a search for a new vocalist and decided on former Lynch Mob front man Robert Mason to lead Warrant into 2009 and beyond. Sounding as strong as ever, the band is currently touring and rumor has it, putting together a brand new album. We will catch up the listeners on all of the news of Warrant, the touring schedule and what to expect from Warrant in 2011.
All Hail Hair is broadcast every Friday night at 8 PM EST on the Fightin’ Words Radio Network and is the networks highest rated show. To take part in the show, dial (347) 202-0832. To listen in to the show live and in archive, click here.
