ACCEPT – Wolf Hoffmann

September 28th, 2005
by Marko Syrjala

INTERVIEW BY MARKO SYRJ?L?

Pictures by Marko Syrj?l? and www.acceptarchive.com. Transcription by Blake Wolfe

There’s no doubt that Accept is a legend and one of the major infuences on the development of many bands in today’s metal scene. Accept was originally formed in the early seventies by vocalist Udo Dirkscheinder and some years later the stable lineup was completed with bassist Peter Baltes and guitarist Wolf Hoffmann among other musicians who were soon replaced with guitarist Jorg Fisher and drummer Stefan Kaufmann. This classic lineup recorded such metal classics as “Breaker”, “Restless And Wild”, “Metal Heart” and “Russian Roulette” before they split up with Udo and Jorg in 1988. In 1989 Accept did another album, “Eat The Heat”, with U.S singer David Reece, but after some unsuccessfull touring and then a split with Stefan Kaufmann the band soon disbanded and nothing was heard of Accept for the next few years.

The praised reunion album “Objection Overruled” came out in 1992 and Accept was back in action with classic lineup of Baltes, Kaufmann, Dirkscneider and Hoffmann but without Fisher this time. The new album did relatively well in Europe and Japan and over the next few years Accept continued touring and released two more albums “Death Row” and “Predator” before they disbanded again in 1997. Udo then continued working with his solo band U.D.O. and Stefan Kaufmann joined him. Peter Baltes then actually gave up playing and so did Wolf Hoffmann excluding one classical solo album which he did in 2000.

But now it’s year 2005 and Accept are back once again. During their visit to Scandinavia I sat down with Hoffmann and we talked about reasons behind this “third coming”, what happened in the past and what might happen in the future?

Bloodaxe – Nordavinden Lien

September 20th, 2005
by Lord of the Wasteland

Interview with Nordavinden Lien

Interview by Lord of The Wasteland

**All Pics Courtesy of Bloodaxe

Blistering cold, howling winds, Norse history?sounds like your standard theme for a Scandinavian Black Metal CD, right?  Well, in the case of Thunder Bay, Ontario?s Bloodaxe, a one-man band featuring Nordavinden Lien, those themes populate the vicious sounds of the band?s music through and through.  Lien, a Canadian of Norwegian descent, is the driving force behind Bloodaxe and has been steering the longship for the better part of five years.  The release of RAPING THE ANCIENT in 2004 brought new attention to Bloodaxe and the upcoming, FOR THOSE WHO HUNT THE WOUNDED DOWN, will elevate the band to the next level of greatness amongst the realms of underground blackened thrash.

Lien is extremely frank and candid in this interview and offers no apologies for his thoughts, ideas or opinions?nor should he have to.  ?The Force From The North? is here to bludgeon, pillage and dominate and NOTHING will stand in his way?

Crucified Barbara – Ida EvilEye

September 18th, 2005
by Arto Lehtinen

Crucified Barbara being the female band hailing from Sweden is a damn interesting combo playing the catchy hard rock stuff with some punkish elements tied up. The debut album ?IN DISTORTION WE TRUST? is an excellent piece of the great rocking material indeed. Even though the Swedish Metal-Rules.Com contributor recently interviewed the vocalist of Crucified Barbara Mia Coldheart, however it was the turn of the band?s bassist Ida EvilEye to tell a little bit more about the band and tours? Enjoy

Robin Beck

September 17th, 2005
by Celtic Bob

Interviewed by Anders Sandvall
Thanks to James Christian for making this interview possible
and t
hanks to Stefan at Atenzia Records for the help.
Also thanks to Frontiers Records for providing the promo-pics of Robin.

The American melodic rock singer Robin Beck is now back with her new album DO YOU MISS ME. Her last album CAN?T GET OFF came back in 1994 and I decided to check out what Robin has been up to until now. She?s  maybe most known for the masses for the Coca-Cola theme tune ?First time? but she has also done what?s considered to be one of the best  female melodic rock album ever TROUBLE OR NOTHING from 1989.
