British death metal act IGNOMINIOUS INCARCERATION are due to kick off a headlining European tour this Sunday, 1st August, with Detroit deathcore destroyers AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH and HONOUR IS DEAD.
IGNOMINIOUS INCARCERATION, who are taking time out from working on a new album to headline the string of shows, are looking forward to teaming up with their labelmates in AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH – for whom this will be their first ever European tour.
IGNOMINIOUS INCARCERATION bassist CHRIS BALL comments:
“This tour is going to be a heavy one, not only on stage but off! We have been looking forward to this since the idea was proposed. With it being AHFW’s first time over here we’re hoping we can show them the enthusiasm European metallers have! Me and Kyle have been plotting on what will make this tour that little bit more over the top than any other tour! If everyone is wanting to see what we get up to while we’re away then follow us on our Twitters (not for the faint of hearted).
“We’re also hitting cities/countries we’ve never been to before, this should seem interesting as we know Europe is already awesome! Still definitely looking forward to UK shows including Bristol which will include our tour buddies from last December, While She Sleeps, and all our friends should be there to show AHFW how the UK party! See you out there and don’t be afraid to come party with us!”
AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH guitarist KYLE MCILMURRAY adds:
“Very grateful and stoked to have this lot of tour dates with Ignom. They seem to be awesome dudes so it should be a real banger from the get go. Not only will it be fun for us, it will be fun for the fans. Our first time in Europe will definitely be something to remember!”
Keep up with all of the antics of the tour as they unfold by following the bands on Twitter:

Dementia/Dyslexia was finished by June 2009 and was recorded at Navene’s studio, Death Midi Soundlab, in San Francisco. Navene played all of the instruments, did all the tracking, mixing, and editing, with mastering handled by Dustin Miller at Audio Aggregate Recordings in Des Moines Iowa.
About the band:
FLESHWROUGHT was born in 2003 when death/grind drummer Navene Kopperweis (former drummer of San Francisco Bay area grind band Animosity and drummer for Animals as Leaders), paired up with Nic Gauthier and made a demo at their friend’s house. A live lineup formed shortly after the demo was recorded and consisted of Nic, Navene and fellow Animosity band mate Chase Fraser. FLESHWROUGHT played a few local shows in Santa Cruz California (where the band called home), one of which was a New Year’s house party with Decrepit Birth. As time went on, the guys jammed less and less due to Animosity’s high frequency tour schedule and Navene moving an hour and a half away to San Francisco. However, Navene’s writing for FLESHWROUGHT never slowed down and in fact his productivity was increasing exponentially as Navene had acquired amazing musical tools such as 7-string guitars, computers, and recording software; all components necessary to make his own album.
While Animosity was on the “Steers and Beers” tour supporting the band’s Blackmarket Activities debut Empires, the band played a show in Phoenix AZ with a local band called JOB FOR A COWBOY. During JFAC’s set Navene thought to himself “dang! That singer is brutal!” All of the guys became great friends and even went on to tour the United States and Europe together. “I knew Jonny Davy was the only guy for my CD,” comments Navene. So at this point, Navene and Jonny decided to join forces began working hard to perfect the band’s debut full-length album titled Dementia/Dyslexia.
TRIPTYKON Announce Line-Up For Their First North American Tour;
Tom Gabriel Warrior Provides His Thoughts
Decibel Magazine and Stereogum/Haunting the Chapel present the “Weltenbrand Tour 2010″ featuring the North American debut of TRIPTYKON with 1349 and Yakuza rounding out the bill. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/triptykonofficial or see below to view the entire tour itinerary. You don’t want to miss out on this monumental event when it hits your city.
Tom Gabriel Warrior (vocals, guitars) describes his emotions on the eve of this new undertaking: “Ever since my earliest days in Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, I have been extremely fortunate to be able to count on the support, fanaticism, and immense loyalty of the North American metal scene. The recognition my work has received there eclipses anything I have ever encountered in my own native country. Of the 125 concerts performed on the final Celtic Frost tour in 2006 and 2007, for example, a full 71 were played in North America. Some of these performances rank among the most memorable ones in my entire career.”
“It is thus an immense honor for me to now bring my new group TRIPTYKON to North America for the first time. TRIPTYKON is further pursuing the path I once began with Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, and I am looking forward to continuing to forge this darkest of musical alliances with all of you. We shall all celebrate masses of unleashed heaviness and morbidity. Only death is real!”
The main purpose of TRIPTYKON is to continue where Celtic Frost left off and to satisfy Warrior’s undying passion for extreme music. Indeed some of the material Fischer was working on post-Monotheist ended up on TRIPTYKON’s debut album, Eparistera Daimones, so it stands to reason, besides the obvious fact that Fischer fronts TRIPTYKON, the two are sonically and spiritually closely connected. As can be expected, Eparistera Daimones is therefore a musical leviathan.
Next to Warrior, TRIPTYKON features V. Santura (guitar, vocals), Norman Lonhard (drums, percussion) and Vanja Slajh (bass). Eparistera Daimones was produced by Tom Gabriel Warrior and TRIPTYKON guitarist V. Santura. Like Celtic Frost’s universally praised Monotheist album, Eparistera Daimones was mastered by Walter Schmid at Oakland Recording in Winterthur, Switzerland.

ANGELS OF BABYLON are pleased to announce the release of their Burnhill Union Records debut, Kingdom of Evil, July 27th! The record is now remastered, and features three previously unreleased tracks. Kingdom of Evil was released in Europe by Metal Heaven Records in January of 2010, and in Japan with Hydrant Music in May of 2010. Download Kingdom of Evil for free at the Burnhill Union Records website, today!
ANGELS OF BABYLON features former MANOWAR drummer Rhino, Arizona based power-metal vocalist David Fefolt, guitarist Ethan Brosh and MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. With this intense line-up of heavy metal greats and sharp musicians, ANGELS OF BABYLON is sure to see success in this evolving industry and genre. Forging ahead with the sounds of classic metal, while bringing fusion of new technique and prowess, the band is a new force to be reckoned with. With the launch of Kingdom of Evil worldwide, Earth will soon know the excellence that is ANGELS OF BABYLON.
“At a point in metal history when the best music moving forward is really drawing from our pasts, ANGELS OF BABYLON has become a unique and eclectic composition of music and styles, encompassing many from across the entire genre,” states bassist David Ellefson. “Power, melody, and hooks stand the test of time regardless of what category the ‘experts’ put it in.”
ANGELS OF BABYLON drummer and Nashville, TN native Rhino began compiling tracks featured on Kingdom of Evil many years ago, but was patiently waiting for the optimum lineup to record and release an album. Rhino is well known for his amazing work with MANOWAR. In 1991, Rhino appeared on The Triumph of Steel; one of MANOWAR’s best selling album to date. Rhino continued on with MANOWAR, touring Europe multiple times and cruising through Japan between 1992-1995. Rhino left MANOWAR in 1995 to pursue personal interest. In the coming years, Rhino was soon introduced to Fefolt, Ellefson and Brosh, and they provided the key to his inspiration to forge ahead and complete the album.
Vocalist David Fefolt feels this album will surprise a lot of people due to its classic metal sound, but with an accent of majestic arrangements throughout. Fefolt was a member of the epic metal band, VALHALLA, and their debut album is still considered one of the staples of metal vinyl collectors worldwide.
Bassist David Ellefson is well known for his time with thrash icons MEGADETH. From1983 to 2002, Ellefson held his place as the co-founder and original bassist in the band. In February of 2010, Ellefson rejoined the ranks of MEGADETH, just in time for the much anticipated “Rust In Peace” 20th Anniversary tour of North America, aside fellow thrash legends TESTAMENT and EXODUS.
Guitarist Ethan Brosh graduated from Berklee in 2004 with honors and a major in songwriting before returning to the school in 2008 to teach. Brosh is currently an instructor in the guitar sessions program. His debut instrumental album Out of Oblivion, was released on March 24th 2009 by Magna Carta Records, and features impressive guest appearances and production credits.

Empires Of Eden – Reborn In Fire featuring Sean Peck (Cage) discussing the song “Total Devastation“.
Sean’s song Total Devastation is definitely the heaviest track on the cd and pure, kick in the face screaming heavy metal. The new album from Empires of Eden – “Reborn in Fire” will feature some of the world’s most respected heavy metal voices. With the already announced Mike Vescera, Zak Stevens, Steve Grimmett and Carlos Zema the album also showcases the incredible talents of Aussie singers Louie Gorgievksi, Chris Ninni and Mike Zoias.”
With a 30 piece orchestral score – 8 singers – one album – Empires of Eden – Reborn in Fire.
Christofer Johnsson, the creative force behind Sweden’s genre-defying THERION, has issued the following statement:
“Now that we have posted Nalle(y)’s message to the fans, I’ll give some comments on it myself.
“Naturally, it may sound worrisome that there has been announced two changes in the live line-up in such a short time frame. But the Nalle situation is not something that has happened recently; we have known this could be the case since last year and we have had a replacement ready for months. Nalle told us immediately about his new family situation in the beginning of the year and given the fact he periodically had really tough drinking problems, we thought it was the right thing to do, to stay away from long tours and deal with the problems and be home with the kids instead. The band can always get somebody else to play the bass, but his kids only have one dad. And they need him in good shape. Some things are simply more important in life than heavy metal and beer. We also applaud his bold decision to start studying at his age, so that he will have options other than music for making a living in the future. Kudos!
“The reason we waited with announcing this was that we wanted to play these Mexican shows and European festivals with Nalle and avoid the funeral atmosphere of everyone knowing someone is about to leave (or take a break, as in this case).
“What about Nalle in the future? We have had discussions in the band if we should get another bass player, but we have decided to keep him as a member of the band and wait and see. It is possible that we will have him playing on the albums and have a live bass player for touring. One thing is sure, though, I’ve never been more happy with the bass on an album than with Nalle’s work on Sitra Ahra and it would be awesome to continue to work with him.
“So who’s gonna play bass on the tour? It will be Waldemar Sorychta, an artist mainly known for his skills as a guitarist and songwriter with his own bands Grip Inc., Enemies of the Sun, Eyes Of Eden, and Despair. He also created a big name as a producer, working with bands like Lacuna Coil, Moonspell, The Gathering, Samael, Tiamat, etc.
“I got in contact with Waldemar when I made the Vovin album back in 1997. He did some additional guitar on “Draconian Trilogy” and also recorded some stuff that would not make it to the album (it was later released on [1999’s] Crowning of Atlantis instead). I was impressed with his skills, so when me and drummer Sami [Karppinen] went down to Germany to record the song “The Crowning Of Atlantis” one year later, and I got stuck not getting the right groove in the rhythm guitars of that song (it’s a pretty difficult type of tempo), we gave him a call. He showed up and I explained what I thought was missing. He grabbed the guitar and a couple of takes later, it was nailed to tape exactly like I wanted it.
“Fast forward and many years later, I’m looking to find a replacement for [lead guitarist] Kristian Niemann. Waldemar was on my list of interesting guitarists, but he was already engaged with other bands at the time, and I was also still trying to persuade the amazing Lori Linstruth that THERION was the band where she belonged (an idea that Kristian Niemann heavily supported as well ,actually). In the end, I ended up working with Waldemar as a session guitarist doing most of the rhythm guitars (new talent Christian Vidal was brought into the band just in time to record the solos). I recalled Waldemar saying he did a lot of jobs as a bass player as well, so when the need of a live bass player occurred, he was naturally one of the top names on our list.
“He’s gonna do a fantastic job on the tour and being a very nice guy as well, I think we’re all gonna have a really good time on tour together.”
The artwork to the new THERION album, Sitra Ahra, is posted on their homepage & MySpace page. Mixed by Lennart Östlund (Led Zeppelin, ABBA) at the legendary Polar Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, the new albumwill be available in North America on October 26th.
The track listing for Sitra Ahra is as follows:
01. Sitra Ahra
02. Kings Of Edom
03. Unguentum Sabbati
04. Land Of Canaan
07. Cu Chulain
08. Kali Yoga III
09. The Shells Are Open
11. After The Inquisition: Children

Before the release of the 7th studio masterpiece AQUA, and the start of the new World Tour supporting the album, Edu Falaschi with ANGRA finished the Back To Life Tour 2009-2010 with a great performance on stage of Anime Friends Festival in São Paulo (Brazil).
This show became the biggest highlight of the final part of the tour. One of the most important rock/metal media in Brazil, “Whiplash!” Webzine highly appreciated the latest performance of Angra and Edu Falaschi on the festival.
Anime Friends Festival took place in Mart Center, São Paulo (Brazil) on the last week and it was dedicated to the famous Japanese art of Anime. It included shows of several Brazilian rock and metal bands and various events for anime fans. Angra played on Friday, 16th of July. The band presented the set-list of Back To Life Tour 2010 and, specially for this event, Pegasus Fantasy – a song from the soundtrack of anime series Knights of the Zodiac (Cavaleiros do Zodiaco) or Saint Seyia which is very popular in Brazil.
As Whiplash! Webzine reports, despite the diversity of people who attended the show (besides metal fans, for sure there were a lot of anime and manga’s fans) the band really rocked.
Edu Falaschi was very inspired and his performance that memorable night was incredible, as he sang both the old and the more recent classics of Angra. In particular, the reporter mentions such classical song as Silence and Distance performed with great feeling and vibration that excited and united the public. And the great interpretation of Lisbon made by Edu Falaschi, as well as his recent version of Nothing To Say where he got its highest notes were accepted with great enthusiasm of the audience. And, of course, the hits from the “nova era” of Angra like Rebirth, The Voice Commanding You, The Course Of Nature, Spread Your Fire and others.
“Thus, if you have had any doubt regarding Angra, you can forget it! – tells Whiplah! – The band made a brilliant show on the stage of Anime Friends with a lot of respect to the fans, fascinating everyone with its professional performance, real team-work and great frontmanship of Edu Falaschi. It was a perfect aperitif before the things that should happen soon, and those who have been to there, will never forget”.

OCEANO‘s Over The Limit Tour – Almost Famous contest came to a close earlier today and drew a major fan response that put the spotlight on some majorly talented and creative people all over the nation. As the band takes some time to go through the videos to determine the grand prize winner, there has already been one stand out video that’s received many positive reviews for combining OCEANO‘s brutality with sheer good humor and fan enthusiasm.
In this riotous video by YouTube user, MantisInMyPants702, he shows us how he “gets pumped” for OCEANO. Watch the video here:
“Familiar Taste of Poison” on last night’s episode of
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
The band recently wrapped up a tour overseas, and will continue to tour in support of their self-titled debut album, which made a top 5 debut on SoundScan’s “Hard Music” chart upon its release. After an amazing performance at this year’s Rock on the Range, Halestorm was included in SPIN’s “Best Moments at Rock on the Range 2010,” where they noted, “If any band deserves a bigger stage (and an even bigger production) for an outing at ROTR next year, it’s these alt-rockers.”
Current single “Familiar Taste of Poison” impacted Active Rock radio earlier this month, and the band will be shooting the companion video shortly. After wrapping up their July headlining dates, Halestorm will take part in the Uproar Tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed.
