is a musical project born in December 2005 from the mind of Dan Logoluso, guitarist and founder of the group. After taking time out from the live scene, an idea was born:the simple sound of a minor triad evoked and developed a complete and intense work of art.
At the beginning there was no planning,no real direction, but, after just a few months, three songs were already in the making, as if inspired by something unknown and greater. After a while Dan decided he needed to put his music into the skilful hands of true musicians who could arrange and give life to the project while understanding its musical meaning. Thus started a long journey, looking for the best possible musicians: the first to be won over by the music was Bryan Beller, one of the best bass players on the international scene – having worked with “James Labrie”, “Steve Vai”, “Mike Keneally”, “Dweezil Zappa” an many more – who in a short period of time learned and recorded two songs. After a couple of months Dan met drummer Alex Galanti and bass player Luca Prederi, previously in KOMADAY an Italian Prog Trash band with a full length called “Ghost and the Wiseman” released by Lucretia Records on 2006.
Subsequently enters the line up keyboardist Alberto Sonzogni, multifaceted musician graduated in Organ and composition at the Istituto Musicale Donizetti in Bergamo and artist committed to 360 ° with collaborations both classical face that modern, participated in the project in 2007 to SpellBlast Choirs of the parties drafting the album Horns of silence (made by Fuel, which is distributed by SELF / FRONTIERS).
At the end of 2008 comes into the singer Mark Pastorino not much has also become the rhythm guitarist renowned Italian band SECRET SPHERE.
On 5 March 2010 have been released the debut album called “Chains of Sin” under 7HARD records with a worldwide distribution.

DEADLOCK POSTS ‘BIZARRO WORLD’ ALBUM TEASER ON REDESIGNED MYSPACE PAGE
‘Bizarro World’ out in March on Lifeforce Records
GERMANY – Germany’s veteran melodic heavy metal outfit, Deadlock, has posted an album teaser of the forthcoming full-length, Bizarro World, on the band’s newly revamped official MySpace page. Head over to: http://www.myspace.com/deadlock, for a glimpse at Deadlock’s fifth studio album, and fourth Lifeforce Records release, which is slated to hit stores on March 15th.
Deadlock will release a worldwide digital single for the track, “State Of Decay”, on February 7th.
Bizarro World was produced by Deadlock guitarist, Sebastian Reichl, at Slaughter’s Palace studios this fall.
On Bizarro World, Deadlock has designed an interpretation of a world built up on extremes and antitheses. The album is based on the concept of “Bizarro”, which originated in DC Comics in the early 1960s, and represents a weirdly mutilated version of earthly creations. However, contrary to the concept of a world stigmatizing perfection, sonically, Bizarro World strives for the opposite.
Deadlock’s sound can be described as a combination of opposed elements, such as sharp guitar-assaults, pop and dance quotations, orchestral profundity, gruffly growls, and beautiful clean vocals. WithBizarro World, the band seeks to improve on what they already did so well in the past, while offering a wider, self-assured view on symphonic and brutal metal, based on a progressive approach.
Over their previous Lifeforce offerings, Earth.Revolt (2005), Wolves (2007), and Manifesto (2008), Deadlock has accentuated the signature of their metal sound, which hovers somewhere in between beauty and darkness, with increasing relevance. The band has toured in support of such accredited acts as Lacuna Coil, All That Remains, Sonic Syndicate, Dark Tranquillity, Caliban, and Heaven Shall Burn within the past two years.
Stay tuned for more information on Deadlock and Bizarro World.
Before a performance in Chicago, Karl Sanders, leadman for the Egyptian-themed Death Metal band NILE, takes a break from practicing his chops to talk to Hank Pearl of THE DAILY ROCK (http://www.thedailyrock.com) about the greatness that is the National Geographic channel and how it has been inspiring new lyrics. He also discusses new ideas for future music videos and Sanders jams throughout. Sanders also mentions the appearance of gothic belly-dancers as part of the band’s demographic of fanfare as well as why the band refrains from dressing up as Pharaohs and mummies for sake of their music’s thematic imagery.
One band that many veteran metal heads feel should have hit the big time was New York’s The Rods. Comprised of members David “Rock” Feinstein (guitar/lead vocals), Garry Bordonaro (bass/vocals), and Carl Canedy (drums/vocals), The Rods would go on to open arena shows for such renowned groups as Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne (the ‘Blizzard of Oz’ tour), the Scorpions, Rainbow (Joe Lynn Turner era), and during the mid ’80s, even had a then-unknown Metallica opening a headlining tour for them. Add to it the fact that Feinstein is the cousin of the late, great Ronnie James Dio (both played together in Elf) and Canedy is an acclaimed metal producer (having worked on classic early releases by Megadeth, Anthrax, Overkill, etc.), and it makes it even more baffling why The Rods never got their due.
But this appears to changing quickly, as the trio has signed on with the Niji Entertainment Group, a label that was created by Ronnie James Dio and his wife/manager, Wendy Dio. The band’s seventh release overall (and sixth release overall for Niji) is titled ‘Vengeance,’ and will be released on March 29, 2011. The release comes hot on the heels of Feinstein’s recently-released solo album, ‘Bitten by the Beast.’
The first single off ‘Vengeance’ will be “The Code,” which features vocals from none other than Ronnie James Dio (one of the very last songs that Ronnie ever recorded, before his untimely death in May of 2010). This aforementioned Rods line-up has been rocking and rolling for nearly 30 years, and the group has been officially invited to play SXSW this year in Austin, Texas. More info and tour dates will be announced soon, so get ready to rock once more with The Rods!
‘Vengeance’ Track Listing:
1. “RAISE SOME HELL
2. “I JUST WANNA ROCK”
3. “REBELS HIGHWAY”
4. “RIDE FREE OR DIE”
5. “THE CODE” (Featuring Ronnie James Dio)
6. “LIVIN’ OUTSIDE THE LAW”
7. “LET IT RIPP”
8. “FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE”
10. “RUNNIN WILD”
Legendary rock’n’roll band Motörhead is proud to announce the formation of Motörhead Music as they prepare to release THE WÖRLD IS YOURS on February 8. Joining forces with EMI Music Services, Motörhead Music is owned by Motörhead and represents their very first venture into the record company business.
To celebrate their 35th anniversary and the release of THE WÖRLD IS YOURS, the band also announces their 2011 North American tour, which kicks off January 25th in Anaheim, CA and wraps up March 11 in Los Angeles. For a full listing of dates, see below or head over to the band’s website at www.imotorhead.com.
Motörhead has never just been the best rock’n’roll band in the world. They’ve never just been the loudest. Or the hardest. Or the toughest. Or the bad-ass-est.
No…Motörhead is a lifestyle.
Motörhead is a mindset, a belief, a way to live your life, a way to both survive and beat a society that sometimes seems intent on trying to grind you down.
Which is why Motörhead has chosen now, in what might be some of the most tense times in recent global history, to release a hell-raising, rebel-rousing rock’n’roll statement known as THE WÖRLD IS YOURS.
Written and performed by Lemmy Kilmister, Philip Campbell and Mikkey Dee in both Los Angeles, CA and Wales, with production once again by Cameron Webb, THE WÖRLD IS YOURS serves to remind everyone that you should never stop questioning or critiquing a society that would surely chew you up and spit you out if given half a chance. And with 10 soul-scorching testaments to the unbridled power this world-famous trio continually maintains, THE WÖRLD IS YOURS delivers some of the finest, most important Motörmusic yet.
On instant classics such as Get Back In Line, Kilmister thunders that ‘The way we are is not the way we used to be my friend’, and ‘We are trapped in luxury, starving on parole, no-one told us who to love, we have sold our souls’, whilst on Brotherhood Of Man Kilmister roars ‘You cannot hide the truth from me I know what’s in your heart, greed and jealousy each equal, all your days now dark’. And with the defiant, uproarious Rock’n’Roll Music, Kilmister and co remind everyone that ‘Rock’n’roll music is the true religion’ and ‘Rock’n’roll even gonna set you free, make the lame walk and the blind see’…
Recorded during late spring of last year, the album’s creation was thrown into turmoil by the poor health and sad eventual passing of Philip Campbell’s father; the situation dictated that Philip needed to be home during some of the scheduled recording time, so Motörhead hired a studio in Wales where Campbell was able to continue working on ideas and record tracks whilst first Mikkey and Lemmy, and then just Lemmy, laid down the rest of the album in LA. But being Motörhead, nothing phased them, and with THE WÖRLD IS YOURS the band has triumphed over adversity to produce an absolute stormer in this, their 35th year as THE greatest, loudest and just plain goddamn coolest band around.

Y&T guitarist/vocalist Dave Meniketti has released the following message:
“It is with profound sadness and disbelief that I tell you that my best buddy for 37 years passed away this morning, January 7th, 2011 at 1 AM at Stanford Hospital. Bravely and steadfastly battling the horrible spectacle of lung cancer, at the end he was surrounded by his family members, and the Y&T family up until his final breath.
All the beautiful things that I could say about my buddy Phil could never be summed up in a short sentence or two, and I promise that I will be back to say so much more about how I feel about him and his talents in due time. But for now, at 3 AM, after just having returned home from his passing, let me at least put this out there.
Phil Kennemore was not only a sweet and passionate man with his life, friends and family, but as an artist, he also had that rare ability to say what was on his mind with the most eloquent, clever, and to-the-point lyrics, yet could turn it on it’s head in a second with some other viewpoint on reality and nail the point dead center. He was able to do what very few can – say the things that others have been thinking, but could never quite seem to put into words. He has always had a keen knack for doing that.
As a musician, with those huge fingers, his bass playing was always loud, strong, and deep, filling the largest or smallest of stages equally.
He had an amazingly strong life force that has influenced everyone who ever had the opportunity to be called a friend of his. I am forever grateful for our lifelong friendship, that was always in place throughout the worst and best of times. I will miss his sense of humor, his amazing wit, but most of all I will always miss not seeing him to my left on the stages I will play from this moment forward.
Yes, he was one of the class guys on this planet, and in this business, and I will always do what I can to spread the legacy of Phil Kennemore across the globe on every stage that I land on.
You know how much I love you Phil, and you knew how much your fans and fellow musicians loved and respected you. There was nothing left unsaid. You had a rich and wonderful life and I can only tell you that I was happy to have been alongside you every step of the glorious way.
Cheers to you, Phil.
Your friend forever, Dave.”
Phil Kennemore – October 20, 1953 – January 7th, 2011
” Morning Glory Clouds (In Manus Tuas Domine) “, a brand new track from the Portuguese Dark-Rock/ Metal outfit HEAVENWOOD, is available for exclusive streaming on the band’s MySpace page. The song comes off the band’s new album, ” Abyss Masterpiece “, which will be released on February 28 via Listenable Records. The follow-up to 2008’s ” Redemption “ was produced by Ricardo Dias & HEAVENWOOD and was mixed & mastered by Kristian “ Kohle ” Kohlmannslehner at Kohlekeller Studios, Germany.
Meanwhile, HEAVENWOOD have announced the addition to their line-up of Paulo Chanoca (DEMON DAGGER/ DECREPIDEMIC) as new session bass-player.
Commented HEAVENWOOD’s manager, Filipe Marta: ” ‘ Morning Glory Clouds ‘ is an amazing song that will grab the listeners attention from it’s very beginning thanks to very addictive melodies/ chorus and catchy riffs. I think this one is the perfect first single of this new album and I’m certain that will become a smash hit on every rock club dance floor and radio stations around the world and people must check it and spread it everywhere. Here’s what Hugo Flores had to say: “Melotronical is different, very special, quite aggressive some times, and perhaps our best album to date… Every track from this album has something unique, maybe related to the way the album was designed; a conceptual album, following a storyline that in the end will make sense to everyone. It’s a timeless story, about who every living being IS… and what’s also great is the booklet with no less than 13 specific images created to support the story and music! I hope that all tracks will stick in your mind for a long time, we tried to come up with ideas that would definitely make a difference.Hope you enjoy it and a Happy 2011 to everyone!”

OCEANO‘s new album, CONTAGION landed the Chicago deathcore heavyweights at number 163 on the Billboard Current Artist Chart in its first week of release. The band also debuted on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart at number 3.
IMAGIKA has finally called it a day. Lead Guitarist/Songwriter Steve Rice comments on the bands demise. ”All things must come to an end and for IMAGIKA the time is now. After 17 years, 7 worldwide releases, 2 vocalist, 5 guitarist, 3 bassist, 2 drummers, countless performances and tour dates I’ve decided to put the band to rest. The reasons are many, but the truth is that it’s time for something new and to move forward without being bound to the past. I’m not mourning the end because I’m grateful the band lasted as long as it did. I look forward to building upon the music and legacy of a band I spearheaded for close to 2 decades with my new project. I would personally like to thank all the fans, press, labels, booking agents, promoters, venues, studios, engineers, artist, instrument manufactures and everyone else that had a helping hand in IMAGIKA’s career. It could not have happened without you! I will personally still handle and oversea everything Imagika post mortem for the foreseeable future.”
Moving forward, drummer Wayne Devecchi, former Eldritch guitarist Roberto Proietti and I have formed a new Metal/ Thrash project that will take our collective musical ideas to the next level. Fans of our past bands music will not be disappointed as we’ve put together some great catchy material that is melodic, complex and heavy. A five song instrumental demo has already been recorded and we are presently seeking a Pro Vocalist and Bassists to complete the project. Interested parties can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org Please have reviewable audio or video media.
Additional video footage of Swedish heavy metal band HAMMERFALL in the studio (plus other holiday shenanigans) has been posted on HAMMERFALL’s official Video Blog site at www.HAMMERFALL.tv.
The band is currently recording the follow up to 2009’s No Sacrifice, No Victory – which debuted at #38 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart for top new artists – with producer James Michael (Mötley Crüe, Scorpions, SIXX:AM, Meat Loaf). The as-yet-untitled new album will be released in Europe on May 20th. A summer release in North America is expected.
Regarding the sound of the new HAMMERFALL songs, guitarist Oscar Dronjak shares: “The new material contains a lot of fresh ways to look at the musical ideas, we’re trying to preserve the essence of what HAMMERFALL is while at the same time updating the execution and approach. Definitely heavier and less straight forward than the previous albums, yet remaining true to what we believe heavy metal is all about.”
No Sacrifice, No Victory achieved gold status in Sweden for sales in excess of 20,000 copies. The album registered the following first-week chart positions in Europe: #2 in Sweden, #7 in Germany, #20 in Switzerland, #21 in the U.K. (Indie Albums chart), #25 in Austria, #46 in Norway, and #95 in France.
DEICIDE is also gearing up for an incredible tour to promote ‘To Hell With God’ this February. This will be fans’ first chance to see Glen Benton (vocals/bass), Steve Asheim (drums), Jack Owen and Ralph Santolla (guitars) tear through the ferocious new material along with classics from the band’s 20+ year legacy of evil. Support on the ‘God is Dead – To Hell With God’ tour comes from Belphegor, Neuraxis, Blackguard and Pathology. Dates for the trek are below.
Stay tuned for more news regarding DEICIDE’s new album and touring plans.
French band BLOODY SIGN has decided to split up after 15 years of devotion to death metal. Bass/vocalist Hagend left the band in early December, which leaded Ilmar & Kalevi both founders of the band to dissolve, rather than looking for a replacement.
BLOODY SIGN eternally thanks all the people who supported our sounds and dedication to extreme music.
But from the burning remains of the band should rise a new dark sound propagation with both founder members and……. See you in strange new aeons!

Surtur Rising is the follow-up to the highly acclaimed 2008 release, Twilight Of The Thunder God, which landed the #7 spot in Revolver Magazine’s Top 20 Albums of 2008 and what MetalSucks called a “bottomless gauntlet of riffs that the band endlessly takes gargantuan swigs from, sounding both lush and emotive as well as skull crushingly heavy… every goddamn one is a chest-beating anthem.” Outburn declared how Twilight Of The Thunder God “will render you nothing short of ecstatic” and Time Out New York noted that “AMON AMARTH plays some of the most unabashedly epic metal you’re likely to find these days.” Further details on Surtur Rising to come. Stay tuned.
