Fresh off of the success of their sold out Contagion Across The Nation tour, Chicago deathcore heavyweights, OCEANO are pleased to announce the Contaminating The Coast tour. Sponsored by AMP magazine and running throughout the month of January, the Contaminating The Coast tour will see the year’s heaviest Billboard charting act get in front of their rabid western fans who have been waiting a long time for the band’s return. Trekking along with OCEANO will be their friends, FOR THE FALLEN DREAMS, UPON A BURNING BODY, THE GREAT COMMISSION and I THE BREATHER. The full list of dates for this January tour will be announced soon at http://myspace.com/oceano and http://facebook.com/oceanometal.
OCEANO‘s new album, CONTAGION landed the Chicago deathcore heavyweights at number 163 on the Billboard Current Artist Chart in its first week of release. The band also debuted on the Billboard Heatseekers chart at number 3.
CONTAGION is now out in North America. Produced by Zeuss (MUNICIPAL WASTE, THE ACACIA STRAIN, HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL), the new album is about a government-born virus that becomes an epidemic and spreads chaos amongst the population. CONTAGION is a major step forward for OCEANO. Their signature breakdowns and inhuman heaviness is still intact, but the band’s traditional death metal influence now shines through more than ever, leading to a stronger melding of old school and modern extremities.

ODERUS TO TAKE OVER DECIBEL MAGAZINE’S TWITTER ACCOUNT THIS FRIDAY FROM 3:00-4:00 PM EASTERN
GWAR have always made this world a better place by killing off celebrities and politicians on stage during their legendary live show. Blood thirsty GWAR fans crave and expect this, and yes, your Lords and Masters make good on it nightly. The “Bloody Tour of Horror” is no exception to this as it features warty front thing Oderus Urungus and the rest of the band tearing apart Lady Gaga and former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Apparently the Sarah Palin constituents and supporters have caught wind of the nightly slaying and the political blogs and websites have been just overwhelmed with comments about Palin’s untimely demise. Check out the video below. Is GWAR getting ready to delve into the political field even more? Will Oderus run for president? Is Sarah Palin really dead? Did Oderus fuck her corpse? Only one alien would have the answer to that question…
When reached for comment on this highly offensive slaying of Mrs. Palin, (to Republicans and tea partiers at least) possible presidential candidate and overlord Oderus gave the following statement: “Is this what American politics has come to? We have killed every President since Reagan, regardless of party affiliation, and the proof of it is all over the net…but the right-wing tea bag numb-nuts are getting their knickers in a twist over somebody that doesn’t even hold office, and in fact left her office as Alaskan governor in order to concentrate on her reality show…and is this woman actually being considered as a potential president? Why does the agenda of the right require that America be viewed as a global laughing stock? Because between Wikileaks and the attention this idiot gets, that is exactly what you are…” scoffed Oderus.
“Besides, we don’t even kill her, just rip her in half, and honestly she seems to love it! Anything for attention, I suppose.”
Santa Oderus is currently featured on the latest issue of Decibel Magazine. The magazine also features an amazing story about the inner workings of GWAR’s infamous “Slave Pit”. If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, you can do so online at decibelmagazine.com.
In addition to being on the cover of Decibel, Oderus will be taking over Decibel’s twitter account this Friday December 3rd from 3-4 PM EST. Make sure to follow @dbmagazine on Twitter and see what kind of Christmas Cheer Oderus has in store. He will be giving away prizes and will be answering questions from you, the lowly human scum. This could be your one chance to interact with biggest dicked alien front man in the music business, unless you bring crack to an upcoming show…then Oderus will hang with you all night.
Recently GWAR took to the stage on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on NBC. The band performed their new single “Zombies, March”. The performance will be airing again this Friday night December 3rd at 12:35 AM EST on NBC, so if you missed it the first time or if you saw it the first time, watch it again this Friday night.
GWAR’s latest masterpiece “Bloody Pit of Horror” is in stores on now and you can also purchase it on the official GWAR page on the Metal Blade Records website at: http://www.metalblade.com/gwar. The landing page includes all current tour dates, GWAR footage from both GWAR.tv and MetalBlade.tv, and pre-orders for “Bloody Pit of Horror” on CD, a GWAR t-shirt, or the ultimate “Bloody Pit” package that includes the CD, the GWAR t-shirt, and a 12×12 autographed cover print! (While supplies last or until GWAR decides to start using the prints as rolling papers…whichever comes first)

Philadelphia, PA area True Metal Band Power Theory announce drummer Chris Smith (After Glow, Tears of the Departed) as their newest full time member.
Immediate plans are upcoming local live shows in December and January in which they will record 4 or 5 songs for a live EP to showcase how Chris’s Metal Machine Drumming put their existing material over the top, as well as recording drum tracks for their next full length album “An Axe to Grind” set to be released in Summer/Fall 2011.
“It will be an injustice to the fans not to record a few our heavier songs with Chris’s drumming and see how much tighter and heavier the material becomes, plus it’ll be a little live teaser before to the new one” quotes guitarist BB Ballinger.
The band would also like to acknowledge and thank Infernal Opera drummer Michael Alberque for his help keeping the back-line while our search for a permanent drummer took place.

EARTH have completed their highly anticipated upcoming full-length album, which has been a subject of much discussion over the past two years. Following the band’s magnificent 2008-released The Bees Made Honey In The Lion’s Skull opus, the next chapter in the ongoing EARTH legacy is ready for public consumption. To see release via Southern Lord Recordings in February 2011, the recently completed new album has been titled Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light 1, and promises to be a brand new entity within EARTH’s already impressive and constantly progressing lineage.
Joining founding guitarist and band frontman Dylan Carlson and percussionist Adrienne Davies, the album lineup this time around also includes cellist Lori Goldston (Nirvana, David Byrne, Black Cat Orchestra, Laura Veirs) and Karl Blau (K Records, Laura Veirs, Microphones) on electric bass. Returning to Seattle’s Avast Studios in April and July of 2010 to again work with producer Stuart Hallerman (Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Built To Spill, and Earth2), EARTH’s newest masterpiece shows the band continuing to expand on the Americana themes represented on The Bees Made Honey In The Lion’s Skull, and even their incredible 2005 album Hex (Or Printing The Infernal Method), taking their sound into broad new directions.
Citing inspiration from British folk-rock bands the Pentangle and Fairport Convention, as well as North African Tuareg band Tinariwen this time around, while still maintaining the thunderous, organic heaviness of previous EARTH releases, the material on Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light 1 is more fluid and melodically oriented in nature, relying on more textured patterns and a greater emphasis on improvisational songwriting tactics. This, as well as the inclusion of cello and other experimentation from the musicians involved, culminate into some unforgettable new hymns. The album was mastered by Mell Dettmer, who also remastered the recent re-release of EARTH’s first recordings in the form of A Bureaucratic Desire For Extra Capsular Extraction, released by Southern Lord in late October.
Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light 1 Track Listing:
1. Old Black
2. Father Midnight
3. Descent To The Zenith
4. Hell’s Winter
5. Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light 1

Ironwood announces the release of their new album Storm Over Sea. The album is available for purchase in a luxurious digipak format with 24 page booklet, however the band has also made the entire album available for free download from their website.
Mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö at Sweden’s Unisound Studios, the new release is Ironwood’s celebration of the beauty, majesty, and fury of the ocean – literally and figuratively, for this is an album of spiritual and psychological dimensions as much as it is a deed of nature worship.
“We’re extremely proud of this release,” explained vocalist/bassist Henry Lauer, “and we’re confident that once people hear it they’ll be more than tempted to pick up a copy of the physical CD. So jump in and download away!”
Storm Over Sea, is available for purchase from the Ironwood website (www.ironwoodsound.com.au), with other distribution channels will follow shortly.
Ironwood hails from Sydney, Australia. A channel for forces elemental and spiritual, Ironwood’s unique fusion of progressive|folk|metal invokes spiralling atmospheres and dark vistas.
Emerging in late 2006 in the Sydney metal scene, Ironwood rapidly established themselves as a frighteningly intense live ensemble, while simultaneously seducing more than a few hard bitten metal heads to the pleasures of folk and progressive music.
Their initial limited edition self titled EP release (2007) was greeted with celebration by critics and fans alike, and is sold out.
Ironwood then proceeded to release :Fire:Water:Ash:, their expansive debut album, in 2009. Again the critical and fan response was resoundingly positive.
After a select string of ecstatic launch performances in several Australian cities, Ironwood resolved to leap immediately back into song writing for ther sophomore effort.
The band’s second full length album, Storm Over Sea, is currently in post-production for a 2010 release. It sees the band delve much deeper into their metal and progressive influences, although the acoustic/folk elements still pervade. Ironwood has evolved and developed dramatically in the period since :Fire:Water:Ash: was composed, and Storm Over Sea will be a testament to this deepening and concentrating of their creative spirit.
Ironwood is Philip Brown (vocals/guitars/piano/cello/samples), Henry Lauer (vocals/fretted & fretless 6-string bass/additional acoustic guitar), Dan Nahum (drums) & Matthew Raymond (vocals/guitars/samples).
