7 HORNS 7 EYES SIGNS WITH CENTURY MEDIA

March 31st, 2011
by EvilG

7 HORNS 7 EYES are one of the most talented and engaging bands to hit the metal scene in quite some time. Combining the technical ferocity of Meshuggah with the deep, grisly growls reminiscent of Mikael Akerfeldt and the dark atmospheric elements of Katatonia, 7 HORNS 7 EYES has developed the skills to electrify the younger scene while still maintaining the brutality and musical prowess to appeal to traditional metal fans as well. Now, Century Media Records is excited to announce that a multi-album deal has been signed and will see a Fall release of 7 HORNS 7 EYES’ debut full-length, ‘Throes of Absolution’. The European release will be handled by Basick Records.

‘Throes of Absolution’ features a guest appearance by Jeff Loomis (NEVERMORE) and will see the band touring heavily in support of the record. Fans will have their first shot to see the gargantuan stage show of 7 HORNS 7 EYES at the Revolver Magazine Golden Gods Official Pre-Party on April 19th at the Key Club in Los Angeles. The band will support Winds of Plague along with As Blood Runs Black, The Devastated and Suffer Well. More information regarding 7 HORNS 7 EYES and ‘Throes of Absolution’ will be released in the coming weeks.

Mainman & producer Peter Tägtgren recently commented on the artwork: “I really wanted something with a Nightmare Before Christmas meets Alice In Wonderland kind of feeling but with our mascot, the painhead in it. The artist Heile created what I wanted but did it in his own way. It really has this kind of Tim Burton feel to it. It will be really crazy on a big backdrop. We’re also gonna do some inflatable stuff with our Painhead. Its gonna be our Eddie, like IRON MAIDEN has.”

The new effort, which according to the band will be their heaviest work so far, will present a new line-up, featuring the vocalist Daniel Felipe. The album is being recorded in São Paulo, Brazil, and produced by Augusto Lopes (Dr. Sin, Scelerata, Hangar), ex-guitarist of Torture Squad.

About the new song the guitarist Leko Soares comments: “This single doesn’t reflect exatly how the new album will sound, since it’s the most simple of the tracks, but we decided to start from it because it has all the elements that will be found in our new album: heaviness, atmosphere and great choruses.”

“When Madness Calls” single has full booklet, design made by Marcus Lorenzet (Sacredeath, Alkeea, Thortaz), and is available for downloaded on the band’s MySpace page, which was recently redesigned, at: www.myspace.com/lothloryenband

FORBIDDEN: SHOW IN LIMA, PERU CANCELLED

March 31st, 2011
by EvilG
Forbidden 2010

Forbidden

Reactivated San Francisco Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN have issued the following statement regarding tonight’s show in Lima, Peru:

“It breaks our hearts that we have to inform the FORBIDDEN fans of Lima that we can not make tonight’s gig at Auditorio Derrama Magisterial.

“Acido Promotions GmbH booked our tour for South America but did not have our travel plans in order which has caused us to miss our shows in South America.  We were able to reschedule all the shows directly with the promoters with the exception of our Lima, Peru show, which we found impossible to reschedule and must cancel with deep regret.

“Acido Promotions brought FORBIDDEN out to South America based on lies and deceit and abandoned us owing FORBIDDEN and all the South American promoters money.

“We want to make this clear that this is not the fault of the other promoters of South America.  As a matter of fact, after being abandoned by Acido Promotions GmbH at the Santiago airport, it was Chargola Productions in Chile who came to our rescue and helped us reschedule the show for the people in Santiago which was an amazing show after all!  We would also like to thank ICARUS MUSIC in Buenos Aires for coming to our rescue and made the show happen in Buenos Aires which was another success.

“Despite great effort from Icarus in Peru, there is no way to make our gig in Lima this time. We will make it up to our fans as soon as we possibly can. We are all gutted about missing what would have been such an amazing gig.”

FORBIDDEN 2010 features Russ Anderson on vocals, Craig Locicero on guitar, Steve Smyth on guitar, Matt Camacho on bass and Mark Hernandez on drums.

Listen to the tracks “Forsaken At The Gates” and “Dragging My Casket” from FORBIDDEN’s 2010 reunion album,Omega Wave, here.

by EvilG

The band’s first release for MORIBUND shall be Caduceus Chalice, set for release on June 28th. MOON’s Caduceus Chalice pervades a hypnotic sense of obscure mysticism within a dark ambience of distorted screams, cavernous echoes and entrancing pulse. Ceremonial Magick, invocations of spirits, glorifications of darkness, underworld realms and apocalyptic apparitions are the basis for this astral visionary experience. MORBID ANGEL Unveil New Album, Single Artwork

March 30th, 2011
by EvilG
MORBID ANGEL - Illud Divinum Insanus

MORBID ANGEL - Illud Divinum Insanus

French label Season Of Mist will release the new studio album from Florida extreme metallers MORBID ANGEL, entitled Illud Divinum Insanus, on June 6th internationally, June 7th in North America. The album will be released in Japan via JVC (date TBA).

Illud Divinum Insanus is the band’s eighth studio album, and the first since legendary frontman David Vincent rejoined the fold. Below is the cover artwork of this new opus, designed by Gustavo Sazes:

The artist stated: “To create this cover we worked from several references, ideas, elements, and I would say a ”world” of options and paths. After a long brainstorming period and some [good and bad] ideas left behind we came up with the concept of this organic surreal insane being; a fallen God or a weird mirror image of our own madness. It is a different Morbid Angel cover for sure, but I think that’s how Morbid Angel is… Deviant and different on each new release. They never repeat themselves. They are always pushing the boundaries and setting new standards. I’m really proud of the final results and hope the fans appreciate my work, while listening to the new album!”

Season Of Mist will release a single, ‘Nevermore’, on May 16th as 7” collectors edition vinyl and digital download. The B-side is an exclusive version of new song, ‘Destructos VS The Earth’, remixed by COMBICHRIST.

“Of all the remixes I’ve been asked to do I never expected one of the world’s most notorious death metal bands to have an interest in hearing their music on the dance floor”, Combichrist mainman Andy LaPlegua comments. “However, ‘Destructos’ is one of those tracks that are so versatile that it could have been recorded as a folk song and it would still sound amazing. I’m honored to be a part of this project and am excited to see how the Morbid Angel fans react to this unusual new direction.”

The cover artwork for the single was designed by French artists Valnoir and Fursy Teyssier for Metastazis. Check it out below:

As previously reported, Illud Divinum Insanus will include ten songs, at least three of which stretch the boundaries of what is conventional Morbid territory.

Morbid Angel’s ninth album begins with the letter I, keeping with the band’s tradition of naming their albums in alphabetical order beginning with 1989’s Altars Of Madness through 2003’s Heretic. The album was tracked at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida with engineer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL; former Morbid Angel guitarist).
