STRATOVARIUS has just released “Under Flaming Skies,” another track from their forthcoming new album. Produced by guitarist Matias Kupiainen, Elysium, will be hitting stores on January 18th via Armoury Records. The cover art for the record was created by Gyula Havancsák who has also worked with the likes of Annihilator and Destruction. “Under Flaming Skies” finds the Finnish metal masters firing on all cylinders with a particularly impassioned performance from vocalist Timo Kotipelto, who wrote the track along with Kupiainen.
Formed in 1984, Stratovarius has sold over 2.5 million albums throughout their career so far. Elysium will be the quintet’s 13th studio album. In November of 2010, the band announced that doctors had found a cancer in drummer Jörg Michael’s thyroid. After a successful surgery and some post-op treatment, Michael released a statement in late December letting his fans know that his health is rapidly improving. The drummer stated, “The surgery was done about 6 weeks ago and the first therapy is done as well. All looks good so far and as Jens (Johansson, keyboards) told me before: “Do not worry Jörg, nothing survives in your body after all what you did to it!”
Elysium will be out 1/18 via Armoury Records and is available for pre-order

Internationally established thrash metal act INDESTRUCTIBLE NOISE COMMAND is pleased to announce the release of their new Bleed the Line EP, available now in digital format. Fans can download the record at iTunes or Amazon.com now. The Bleed the Line EP was written, recorded and produced by the band between the spring and summer of 2010, aside from the single ‘God Loves Violence’, which was cut by seasoned producer Fredrik Nordström (At the Gates, In Flames, Opeth). The Bleed the Line EP is released on the band’s label, M90 Records, and is the first music that the band has released in 20 years. The artwork for the Bleed the Line EP was illustrated by Dennis Guevera.
1- God Loves Violence (Fredrik Nordström mix)
2- Bleed the Line
3- Rain (feat. Ron Thal of Guns N’ Roses)
4- Full Metal Jacket
5- If I Were President
6- Fueled By Regret
“It felt great being back in the studio after so long,” states lead guitarist Erik Barath. “It didn’t even feel like there was any rust, it just felt natural. It was also amazing to have Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal stop by and lay down a lead on Rain! That guy is an alien from another planet the way he plays guitar!”
INDESTRUCTIBLE NOISE COMMAND and MetalUnderground.com are pleased to post the brand new music video for the single ‘God Loves Violence’, today! Head to this link to view the new video. An original music video depicting scenes of violence and war was posted on YouTube several months ago, but after receiving over 100,000 views in under two weeks, the video was banned. This new video was filmed by New York City based filmmaker Justin Johnson. Justin is known for his popular short political satire, Hillary in Bosnia, which has over 2.4 million views, and was featured on Fox News and other TV outlets.
In addition to this video, MetalUnderground.com has posted a second short video showing guitarist Erik Barath in drummer Dennis Leeflang’s studio working on the lead solo in ‘God Loves Violence’, whilst vocalist Dennis Gergely displays some “interesting” hand motions behind the camera.
Through humble beginnings in Connecticut, INDESTRUCTIBLE NOISE COMMAND exceeded their own expectations and the expectations of others with two successful full-length Giant Records releases, Razorback (1987)and The Visitor (1988). Giant Records signed I.N.C. after witnessing the band’s crushing live performances with the likes of Exodus, Megadeth and King Diamond; all of which taking place only six months after they had graduated high school. In 1988 with The Visitor, the band hit #1 on the CMJ Metal charts and stole the U.K. #2 Import slot out from underneath Aerosmith. Now based in New York City, the band is back with their Bleed the Line EP. I.N.C. is also currently writing and recording a presently untitled release (again with producer Fredrik Nordström), set to hit stores in late Spring 2011. The band will release the full-length with UK-based label Rising Records, who signed the band less than a year after getting back together to record the EP. I.N.C. is an original pioneer of the thrash metal scene, resurrected in order to take back a genre recently flooded with neo-thrash carbon copies. Revived and back with a vengeance, I.N.C. is ready to prove ownership of the scene in 2011.
INDESTRUCTIBLE NOISE COMMAND is:
Erik Barath – Guitar
Tony Fabrizi – Guitar
Dennis Gergely – Vocals
Dennis Leeflang – Drums
Samuel J. Roon – Bass

Legion Of The Damned have never played in Sweden, a fact that will be changed on April 7-8 when the band boards the Sweden Rock Cruise!
The roots of these Dutch thrashers can be found in Occult, which started out as a death/black metal band but flirted heavily with thrash metal at the end of their career. Occult gained cult status in the extreme metal underground but real success evaded them, so after a decade of misfortunes, line-up changes and record company disagreements, singer and band leader Maurice Swinkels decided it was time for a fresh start.
After changing the band name and signing a new record contract, the quartet finally got the breakthrough they had been fighting for for so long. Another three albums later, Legion Of The Damned have established themselves as one of the leading extreme thrash metal acts on the European metal scene.
Seven Thorns is power metal in purest style, catchy melodies, fast guitars and blasting drums are the key components on Return to the Past. Seven Thorns is aiming for the stars, with the awesome lead guitarist of At Vance, a giant within the power metal genre. Olaf Lenk, features on one of the certain hits, “Liberty”, with a frightening fast guitar solo. Many of the keyboard parts were played by the very skilled Mikkel Henderson (Fate, Evil Masquerade). And the icing on top is Mastering by the legendary, Danish power metal producer, Tommy Hansen.
Warlock is without question one of the most prominent bands in the history of German heavy metal. Their musical journey began in the early 1980’s and came to a sudden stop in 1987, when the group’s singer, Doro Pesch, was forced to continue her career under a new moniker. This year, Metal Mind Productions are proud to present three exclusive re-releases of Warlock’s amazing albums – „Hellbound”, „True As Steel” and „Triumph and Agony”, all of which capture the sheer essence of heavy metal, delivering fast and melodic riffs, intense drumming and stunning vocal performances by one of the best female metal singers of all times!
The band was originally assembled in 1982 in Düsseldorf, Germany and featured the following line-up: Doro Pesch (vocals), Peter Szigeti (guitar), Frank Rittel (bass), Rudy Graf (guitar) and Michael Eurich (drums). In 1984, Warlock released their spectacular debut album entitled “Burning the Witches”, which brought them even more fame and recognition. In May 1985, the band released their second LP “Hellbound” via Vertigo Records. The follow-up was a significant step away from the traditional heavy metal approach which could be heard on “Burning The Witches”. This time the group focused more on incorporating elements of hard rock and power metal into their style. Nevertheless, “Hellbound” proved to be the heaviest and most intense material that Warlock has ever recorded, and probably one of the heaviest albums released in 1985 (outside of thrash metal, that is). The LP featured such highlights as “Earthshaker Rock”, “Wrathchild” and the beautiful closing ballad “Catch My Heart”. By the end of their touring period, Rudy Graf left Warlock and was soon replaced by Niko Arvanitis (ex-Stormwind). The renewed line-up signed a record deal with Phonogram for their next album. The band’s third opus “True As Steel” saw the light of day in August 1986. The LP became a big success in the US, mostly thanks to a fair amount of airplay for the single “Fight For Rock”. In terms of style, “True As Steel” showcased a bit more mainstream approach, with a greater emphasis on melodic choruses and, at times, clearly influenced by such bands as Dokken or Quiet Riot. The highlights of the LP include the powerful opener “Mr. Gold”, the speed-metal anthem “Midnite in China” and the stunning power ballad “Love Song”. Soon after the album was released, Warlock performed at the Monsters of Rock festival in Germany, next to such legendary acts as Scorpions, Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne and Bon Jovi. Next, they went on a full tour to promote the album, at the end of which bassist Frank Rittel and guitarist Peter Szigeti called it quits. They were replaced by Tommy Bolan (ex-Armed Forces) and Tommy Henriksen. Warlock’s fourth LP “Triumph and Agony” was released in September 1987. The album went even further into mainstream grounds, delivering perhaps the most cohesive material in the band’s entire career. The music video “All We Are” was often played on MTV’s “Headbanger’s Ball” and, to this day, the song remains the most successful Warlock single. Other fine cuts from the album include the crushing “I Rule the Ruins”, the rock-oriented “Metal Tango” and the touching “Für Immer” (“Forever”) with inspirational lyrics sung in German. The release was followed by the group’s first ever American tour, during which they supported Megadeth along with Sanctuary. This was followed by a series of headlining shows, with Warlock being supported by such acts as Lillian Axe or Fates Warning. Unfortunately, after the tour has ended, both Michael Eurich and Niko Arvanitis left the group, leaving Doro as the band’s sole original member. After the recruitment of drummer Bobby Rondinelli (ex-Rainbow) and guitarist Jon Levin, Doro was ready to record Warlock’s fifth LP. However, her plans were foiled by a law suit issued by the group’s ex-manager who claimed the rights for Warlock’s name. Surprisingly, he won and Doro, pressured by her record label, chose to continue her career under a new moniker. As DORO, the singer released many successful albums, the most recent being “Fear No Evil” from 2009.
In 2004, Doro reunited with the original members of Warlock for a few festival performances. Unfortunately, legal problems made it impossible for the band to continue using their original name. Warlock ceased to exist along with “Triumph and Agony”, a title which proved to be an ironic metaphor of the group’s future. Nevertheless, thanks to the exclusive re-releases of „Hellbound”, „True As Steel” and „Triumph and Agony” fans may once again revisit the golden years of Warlock – the years that brought the true quintessence of heavy metal. The albums will be available in a new digipak edition each limited to 2000 copies. Each title includes bonus tracks. Metal Mind Productions set the release date for 31st January 2011.

Iron Fate is a new band from Germany that plays old school heavy metal. I had the pleasure to talk to the bass player, Jan Abraham. We talked about their debut album, their background, and the impact that Ronnie James Dio had on the band. Iron Fate is something that you have to check out if you’re into heavy metal music in the veins of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden etc. Enjoy!
The British legendary thrash metal five piece Onslaught reunited five years ago. The band did plenty of gigs all around. As a result of the reunion, the triumphant KILLING PEACE saw the light of day. The band’s newest opus SOUNDS OF VIOLENCE takes their brand of thrash metal to into a more extreme phase, presenting the pure true and violent thrash metal to the bone. Onslaught hasn’t given up an inch. The British thrashers will soon be embarking on gigs and festivals. It is a huge pleasure to have a chat with one of the founding members of Onslaught, Nige Rockett. He tells more about why the band chose to work with Jacob Hansen and why the band signed a deal with AFM. Time now for METAL FORCESSS.

As previously reported, back in 1986 Slayer released their landmark album Reign In Blood that helped shape the sound of metal for decades to come. 25 years later, it’s high time to give that album the credit it’s due, and ESP is doing just that with the limited-edition Slayer-2011 guitar.
ESP - limited-edition Slayer-2011 guitar
Limited to just 250 guitars worldwide, the LTD Slayer-2011 is highlighted with a custom graphic finish that employs elements of the cover artwork from the Reign In Blood album. Details include a special LTD headstock logo in Slayer’s distinctive typeface, pentagram-shaped neck inlays, and the Slayer logo inlaid near the 12th fret.
The guitar uses bolt-on construction, an alder body, a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 24 XJ frets, a TOM bridge with string-thru-body design, and EMG 81 (bridge) and EMG 85 (neck) active pickups.
