MIAMI – Miami DIY stoner metal act, Shroud Eater, has uploaded a video trailer to the band’s official website in celebration of the release of ThunderNoise, Shroud Eater’s debut full-length record which hit stores on Tuesday. The video features a preview of the brand new track, “Baying of Jackals”, and can be seen online now at: http://www.shroudeaterrocks.com/videos.html.
“ThunderNoise is our statement of intent,” explains guitarist/vocalist, Jeannie Saiz. “It’s a ferocious labyrinth of music that we literally put blood, sweat and tears into. We hope it consumes the listener as much as it did us.”
The track list for ThunderNoise is…
1. High John the Conqueror
4. Shark Valley
5. We Are Beasts
6. Descent from the Summit
8. Baying of Jackals
9. Sinister Hunt
10. Hands that Prey
11. Pale Rider
ThunderNoise was constructed at Miami’s Relax Bro! Studios in July. The album was self-produced by Shroud Eater with the help of Relax Bro! engineer, Raul Valentine. The band tapped Scott Angelacos (renowned vocalist of the classic hardcore band, Bloodlet) and Jeff McLear at High Five Audio for mixing, while Nick Zampiello and Rob Gonnella of New Alliance East (Torche, Converge, Against Me) handled mastering duties.
ThunderNoise is the follow up to the band’s November 2009 self-titled debut EP, which Decibel Magazine deemed, “a mighty hurricane in Miami”, and the Miami New Times called, “soul-damaging”.
Artwork comes courtesy of Shroud Eater’s own, Jeannie Saiz.
After a month of recording in the sizzling Florida summer – in a warehouse with no AC unit to speak of – the group embarked on tour to lay waste to the eastern seaboard, passing through Georgia, North Carolina and up through New York.
The band plans to tour through Florida, up the east coast, and play a string of shows out west in the spring.
Stay tuned for more information on Shroud Eater and ThunderNoise.
Friday, January 14th 2011 marks the start of ACCEPT’s long anticipated “Blood Of The Nations” world tour. The new tour is named after the band’s highly successful and critically praised comeback album “Blood Of the Nations” and includes shows in 24 countries around Europe, North America, Canada, Latin and South America. This mammoth 80-show trek marathon commences tonight in Osnabrück, Germany at the Gartlage Hall.
ACCEPT have crisscrossed the globe with little interruption since May of 2010. By the time June 2011 and the final shows of this tour come around, ACCEPT will have played more than 120 shows over 12 months, elevating their status as one of Germany’s most relevant and important rock exports. There have already been numerous high-points along the way: The blistering stadium shows supporting AC/DC in Hannover and Stuttgart, their headliner appearances at the Sonisphere Festivals in Bucharest and Istanbul, the spectacular “secret” guest spot at the Rock Hard Festival 2010, not the least their scorching performance at Japan’s largest indoor festival Loudpark 2010 in Tokyo. Throughout all these shows, ACCEPT have once again confirmed to their large army of fans that they are indeed one of the most productive and dominant live metal acts on the international hard rock scene.
The best-selling album “Blood Of The Nations” has concluded 2010 by receiving the proud designation of “Album of the Year” in most leading rock media outlets in the States, Canada, South America and many European territories. With this colossal success, ACCEPT have quickly bridged their 17 year long recording inactivity with amazing simplicity and have given their old and new fans the most successful comeback in metal history. The live shows offered by the prolific line-up of Wolf Hoffmann, Mark Tornillo, Peter Baltes, Hermann Frank and Stefan Schwarzmann will offer an explosive mix of legendary classics like “Balls To the Wall” and “Metal Heart” mixed in with new hard rock highlights like the sensational “Teutonic Terror”, the hard hitting “Pandemic” and the colossal “The Abyss”. It is a spectacle not to be missed!

In an official message from STRATOVARIUS: “Some good news and some bad news. The good news is that we’re back on the road with Helloween. And Jörg Michael is back in his drum chair after his brush with death.
The bad news is that Timo Kotipelto caught some sort of bacterial infection. We suspect it was something from the backstage food in December, but we don’t know. Two of the other people on the tour had the same thing: A very bad dysentery-like stomach infection with vomiting and diarrhea, dehydration, also eventually had to go to hospital, etc.
Timo’s infection is stubborn and in addition to ruining his Christmas break, it has dried out his vocal cords. In his own words, he can’t sing a note at the moment. We are currently in France and so far we had to cancel playing in Paris and Lyon.
We are of course very sorry about this, and nobody is more heartbroken or frustrated than Timo himself. Apart from heeding the advice from doctors we are in touch with, the only thing we can do at the moment is to hope Timo gets better. We will ride the 1000 km to Bilbao tonight and hopefully we will all get some sleep on the nice smooth French motorways.
Check out a short video about the Paris cancellation and some words from Jörg HERE.

A new webisode featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of “Blunt Force Trauma”, the sophomore album from CAVALERA CONSPIRACY — the project featuring former SEPULTURA members Max (guitar, vocals) and Igor Cavalera (drums) — can be viewed below.
“Blunt Force Trauma” will be released on March 29 via Roadrunner Records. The CD was once again tracked with Logan Mader (ex-MACHINE HEAD/SOULFLY guitarist), who co-produced the LP with Max. Logan also mixed the follow-up to the band’s debut album, “Inflikted”, which has sold 43,000 copies in the United States since its March 2008 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The brothers Cavalera co-founded SEPULTURA, the Brazilian metal band that redefined and established the genre outside of the U.S. and Europe. After Max exited the band, there was a rift between himself and his brother, one that was eventually repaired through the redemptive power of music. Some time had passed and Max and Igor were unable to resist the musical pull in their magnetic fields and their musical collaboration was renewed. The duo are back for round two with CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.
CAVALERA CONSPIRACY’s lineup is filled out by guitarist Marc Rizzo, who plays with Max in SOULFLY, and bassist Johnny Chow.
“Blunt Force Trauma” track listing:
03. Lynch Mob
04. Killing Inside
06. I Speak Hate
08. Genghis Khan
09. Burn Waco
11. Blunt Force Trauma
An audio recording of CAVALERA CONSPIRACY performing a brand new song, “Warlord”, during the band’s October 11, 2010 appearance at the SWU Music and Arts Festival at the Maeda Farm in Itú (about 43.5 miles away from São Paulo), Brazil can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.
In an interview with Triple J’s “The Racket”, Max Cavalera stated about the sophomore album from CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, “We recorded 15 songs, 13 being originals for the album, and then we did a BLACK SABBATH cover, ‘Electric Funeral’, that’s gonna come out on a Metal Hammer compilation in Europe. And we did a BLACK FLAG cover, a song called ‘Six Pack’. We also had a collaboration with Roger [Miret] from AGNOSTIC FRONT — he sings on a song called ‘Lynch Mob’ that we did together in the studio in L.A.; he flew to L.A. to do this collaboration. I was really proud because, to me, Roger is like the godfather of New York hardcore; AGNOSTIC FRONT is one of the pioneer bands of the whole New York hardcore scene, so it was like recording with a legend of hardcore. The CAVALERA album is really intense; that’s all I can say about it. It makes the first album sound like pop music.”
Regarding the songwriting and recording process for the new CAVALERA CONSPIRACY album, Max said, “I wrote a lot of the stuff and I sent it to Brazil to [Igor] in the form of a CD — like four tracks of the riffs — so that he would be familiarized with the songs by the time I got to the studio. And then I brought another CD with me, which was, like, newer songs I had just got done [writing] for the album. And everything else we did in the studio together — me and him there on the spot. I told him the idea of making a very intense album with some songs being only a minute and a half, so it’s a cross [between] MINOR THREAT and SLAYER and CAVALERA CONSPIRACY. So the idea was really cool — Igor really liked that — and from that point on, the album just grew and song after song, every day a new song came in. And I’m really happy with it. I think people are gonna be blown away when they hear it. I think it’s a pretty cool album.”
LOVE.MIGHT.KILL, the new band led by drummer Michael Ehré (FIREWIND, ULI JON ROTH, METALIUM), has completed work on its debut album, “Brace For Impact”. The CD, which was produced by Ehré and mixed by Markus Teske (SAGA, VANDEN PLAS, SPOCK’S BEARD), features 13 “stunning melodic metal tracks in the tradition of RAINBOW, JUDAS PRIEST, DIO and BLACK SABBATH,” according to a press release.
After touring all around the world with several bands and writing songs for German metallers METALIUM, Japanese female metal vocalist Saeko and ex-ZED YAGO founder Jutta Weinhold, Ehré realized his vision of an own band by writing, recording and producing LOVE.MIGHT.KILL‘s debut CD. The effort features additional contributions from Italian singer Jan Manenti as a co-writer, longtime friends Christian Stöver and Stefan Ellerhorst (both from the German metal band CROSSROADS) on guitar and Jogi Sweers on bass.

THE SECRET’s newest full-length Solve Et Coagula — their first for Southern Lord Recordings — was released to in September, unleashing it’s brutally-charged surge of noise-laden metallic hatred on the unsuspecting public, and since appearing on countless “Best of 2010” lists in recent weeks. Recorded by Kurt Ballou at his Godcity Studios (Trap Them, Converge, Disfear), Solve Et Coagula runs rampant with dismantling breakdowns, gargantuan riffage and jackhammer blastbeats, all empowered by the most shredding vocal attack. THE SECRET’s attack is surely cutting edge, and places them near the top of the heaviest bands to ever surge forth from Italy. Solve Et Coagula exposes the sound of humanity’s failure and defeat, embodied as pure aural rage. http://www.myspace.com/thesecret

The New Haven, CT based black metal band IPSISSIMUS are currently putting the finishing touches on the band’s Metal Blade debut, The Way of Descent, which will be released in the spring. Drummer Haimatokharmes has just issued the following update, ” IPSISSIMUS’ debut album with Metal Blade will be entitled The Way of Descent – the title aims to encapsulate the lyrical matter of the new songs, which deal with various katagogic themes in Gnostic, Luciferian, and Merkavah traditions as applied to Left Hand ethics and praxis. We finished the recording in October and the beginning of November at Sonic Environments Studios with our ‘sonic alchemist,’ (producer and mixer) Jeff Weed. It’s an interesting sound, at turns raw and filthy, yet also warm and spacious, which I suppose is fitting for hymns to the abyss. Expect some traditional black, melodic riffage à la the ‘Fatima’ material as well as the occasional avant-garde element – I believe this will be the first black metal album to employ a waterphone.”
IPSISSIMUS is also excited announce that they will be providing direct support for Toxic Holocaust Jan. 13, 2011, at Daniel St. in Milford, CT. IPSISSIMUS will also be taking part in day one of Boston’s “No Life Fest” at the Midway Cafe in Jamaica Plain on Saturday, March 5th and playing the Union Pool in Brooklyn, NY with The Secret and The Funeral Pyre on Sunday, March 27.
Stay tuned to MetalBlade.com for further details, release date, music, and preorder information for The Way of Descent, available everywhere this spring.
On Monday, January 17th, 2011 at 12 noon PACIFIC / 3 p.m. EASTERN / 9 p.m. CET, MESHUGGAH members Tomas Haake and Jens Kidman will host a live stream of the band’s first DVD Alive, which debuted at #8 on the Nielsen SoundScan Top Music DVD Video chart in North America the week following its February 2010 release.
The event will begin with a live Q&A video session via uStream.com with Haake and Kidman, who will answer questions submitted by fans via MESHUGGAH’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
A second stream of the live DVD will take place at 4 p.m. PACIFIC / 7 p.m. EASTERN / 1 a.m. CET.
Shot by director/producer Ian McFarland of Killswitch Productions during MESHUGGAH’s 2009 North American tour and at their 2008 performance at the Loudpark Festival in Tokyo, Japan, Alive contains concert footage of selections from the band’s Billboard Top 200-charting 2008 release, obZen, in addition to their time-tested career staples. Gracefully interlacing the live tracks are behind-the-scenes vignettes shot in black & white that give Alive a concert film feel so unlike many of the live DVDs currently on the market. The result is a visceral, visual abduction into the band’s metric insanity-in-action.
Alive comes with a bonus live audio CD containing twelve tracks.
