Pimmit Hills, Virginia-based doomsters KING GIANT have just unveiled their new performance-based video. The second video from their 2009-released Southern Darkness full-length, this brand new visual portrayal of the track “Solace” was filmed at Washington D.C.’s infamous 9:30 Club, and portrays the band boasting their soulful Southern rock in a thunderous live setting. The video was produced by Kevin Barker and Double Kick Productions, who also produced the first video from Southern Darkness, for the track “13 To 1”, released last September.
View both the brand new “Solace” video as well as the previously-released “13 To 1” video at this location.

Following months of touring in North America to round off 2010, British thrashers EVILE are back on the road in their homeland as they kick off a five-date headlining UK tour.
EVILE will be tearing their way around the UK with support from fellow Brit thrashers ELIMINATION and MUTANT. Each show of the tour will also feature a winning band from EVILE’s recent support slot competition in conjunction with Metal Hammer.
EVILE lead guitarist OL DRAKE comments:
“I’m just about to step out of the door to embark on our last set of dates before going into the studio to record Evile’s third album. Quickly reading through the Evile feature in today’s Kerrang! has put me quite in the mood for getting back out there, even if it is for five dates in the UK. Really excited to see all those smiling faces going mental, and hopefully we’ll have a raw version of a new track to play for you all.
“50 years ago today, The Beatles played the Cavern in Liverpool. 50 years after, Evile play the Academy in Manchester. It will be remembered. Just… not like The Beatles Cavern thing. Probably from me falling over, or forgetting a solo or something.”
Don’t miss EVILE live at the following shows:
EVILE w/ ELIMINATION, MUTANT
09 Feb. – Manchester, UK – Academy 3 (w/ BLUDVERA)
10 Feb. – Newcastle, UK – Academy (w/ VORTEX)

After years of waiting the first Sylvan CD “Deliverance” is available again. And it’s a Special Edition!
Beside a narrowly mixed artwork and a overworked version of “A Fairytale Ending”, the special edition contains a bonus CD with the 12 1/2 minutes prog epic “The Lie”. This song based on so far unreleased material from the “Deliverance” writing session and was recorded specially for this edition!
Every beginning is hard, none more so than writing a new album. Where is the journey to go? What is the right direction? We really try to explore a new aspect from our music with every new album and that can be a very time-consuming and exhausting process.
Because of that we started 2011 with a renovation of our rehearsal room and now we have the right and cozy atmosphere to announce the official start of the “Sylvan 8th studio album writing process” 🙂
French black metal label Debemur Morti Productions’ reissue of the BLUT AUS NORD classic The Mystical Beast of Rebellion is now available in North America. Debemur Morti is now taking orders for the 2xCD version of this black metal masterpiece, the second disc of which features brand new material, “The Fall (Chapters 7, 7 & 7).” A new T-shirt design is available as well.
Furthermore, the recording of Blut Aus Nord’s highly anticipated 777 is nearly complete. Plans are in motion for an April 2011 release. Stay tuned to the newly relaunched www.BlutAusNord.com for updates.

2 – The Fall: Chapter II
3 – The Fall: Chapter III
4 – The Fall: Chapter IV
5 – The Fall: Chapter V

9 – The Fall: Chapter 7
Considered by many to be the band’s greatest work, BLUT AUS NORD’s The Mystical Beast Of Rebellion marked a crucial transition from the French enigma’s Black Metal genesis toward a discordant, forward-thinking future. Originally released in 2001, The Mystical Beast Of Rebellion surges with hypnotic fury, inducing trance-like states through increasingly dissonant riffing. Now buttressed by an entire bonus CD/LP’s worth of new material (that slows proceedings to a murky crawl), BLUT AUS NORD’s The Mystical Beast Of Rebellion has become an even taller monolith of obsidian dread. With this reissue, BLUT AUS NORD consummates the original work, delving deeper into the abyss first entered almost a decade ago. Three new songs have been written – “The Fall (Chapter 7, 7 and… 7)” – comprising an exclusive new album that plots a divergent path to the same destination. In conjunction with the brutal, hypnotic minimalism of the first six chapters, these crawling, cavernous pieces give the masterpiece a more wholesome dimension. In line with the defiant mindset of today, the second part of this release sees the band try new things, writing the thickest track of their history: a painful progression subtly roaring over 19 oppressing minutes. In order to establish an equilibrium, every artist should be afforded an opportunity to showcase the antithesis of his work. With this surprising reissue, BLUT AUS NORD takes up the mantle and presents The Mystical Beast Of Rebellion in an intriguing new light.

Trapped in a Sleep, the newest opus from Ukranian doom-dealers Apostate is now streaming in full at the underground webzine, Apochs.net. Visit this location to access this exclusive stream. Prepare to be crushed…
Veteran Ukrainian doom/death act APOSTATE released Trapped in a Sleep late last year on Black Art Records and listeners lucky enough to have experienced it are still thawing out and paying contractors for the repairs to their damaged souls. A collection of dynamically composed songs that combine doom’s crushing despair with death’s frightening aggression in a way that continually captivates, Trapped in a Sleep is a work that is strangely beautiful, darkly majestic, and impossibly heavy.
Apostate was formed in 1993 in Lviv (Ukraine). The first demo Consign to Oblivion was recorded in 1995. This tape was very well received by Ukrainian underground press and fans. In 1997 appears an EP A Song of the Dead Lake. This work and plenty of live performances brought for Apostate a cult status. The band split up in 1998. In 1999 vocalist gathered new line-up and continued Apostate, but in 2001 they disbanded again. In 2007 compilation From Consign To Oblivion to A Song Of The Dead Lake was released. Its positive feedback was the reason why Oleksandr Kostko (bass guitar) decided to reanimate Apostate in January 2009. During 2009-2010 the band has actively played live (including Doom Over Kiev III fest), sharing the stage with the renowned bands such as Cemetery Of Scream, Skepticism, Sadist, Crionics, Virgin Snatch, Parricide. Especially precious was the experience of supporting Therion in part of their “Sitra Ahra” tour across the Baltics. In October 2010 the new album Trapped in a Sleep was released. Currently the band is planning a European tour in support of this album for 2011, as well as writing material for the next album.
French black metalists SVART CROWN invade North American shores with their latest brutal masterpiece, Witnessing The Fall. Out today (February 8th, 2011) in North America, Witnessing The Fall delivers nothing but the most creative and cerebral blend of blackened insanity and death metal fury to invade our airspace in quite sometime.
Spawned in France by guitarist/vocalist J.B Le Bail, SVART CROWN was born in 2005 with the idea to push the boundaries of extreme music, and create a new dimension of brutality and blackness. Following numerous tours in his native land, SVART CROWN released its first album, Ages Of Decay in early 2008. The band has been promoting this first effort since then, with countless shows and two European runs. Around J.B. Le bail, guitarist C. Frandrois, bassist L. Veyssière and drummer G. Barthélemy (also known for his work with Diabolic, Drowning, Balrog and Antaeus) complete the line-up. Following their first effort, SVART CROWN is back with a work of absolute blackness. All the frenzy and the barbarian fury that are the trademark of the band are blended here in a determinedly occult album called: Witnessing The Fall. The sulphurous and oppressive atmosphere are emphasized by an organic sound crafted by Francis Caste (Kickback, Arkhon Infaustus, Phazm) at St Marthe studio. SVART CROWN has successfully mixed an old school feeling with various modern influences; Witnessing The Fall is simply the new face of the band; a black beast, full of anger, symbol of a humanity in perdition.

LAST CHANCE TO REASON teamed up with producer Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me) to create a modern take on the classic progressive concept album. Drawing influence from the 70’s prog of King Crimson and Yes, composers Steve Reich and Schoenberg as well as prog-metal masters Opeth, Dream Theater and Cynic, LCTR’s “Level 2” takes the band in awe-inspiring new directions.
Set in a Tron-like virtual world, the album’s concept revolves around the relationship between man and technology, our move from physical reality to virtual spaces and what these changes mean to our lives and our art. The lyrics are expressed from the point of view of an artificial intelligence facing the violent reality of a videogame world.

Swedish epic metallers Quicksand Dream are streaming their recently rediscovered album.
Aelin: A Story About Destiny in full at Stereokiller.com. Head over to www.stereokiller.com/QuicksandDream to experience this classic masterpiece which has finally claimed its proper spot in heavy metal history. Aelin: A Story About Destiny was reissued in the winter of 2010 by Planet Metal and has since become a favorite amongst fans, critics and metal purists across the board.
A true gem from the heavy metal underground! QUICKSAND DREAM was a treasured obscurity even during its original active period in Sweden during the early 1990s. In 1996, the core duo of Göran Jacobson and Patrick Backlund reconvened to record the ambitious and imaginative Aelin concept album. Upon its completion in 1999, the album was only circulated among friends and has remained largely unheard and unknown until now. With sophisticated and unique narrative-style songwriting and an elegant 16-page booklet to illustrate the album’s epic tale, Aelin: A Story About Destiny is a mandatory release for any fan of Epic Heavy Metal. Fans of Manilla Road, Fates Warning, Cirith Ungol, While Heaven Wept, Candlemass, and epic-era Bathory take notice!

Check out the new promotional video for “Slave To This World” taken from “Legacy” :
No Gravity are a new progressive power metal outfit and the brainchild of renowned guitarist Simone Fiorletta. Their debut release ‘Worlds In Collision’ features some of the most illustrious vocalists in the power/prog metal field and sees release on Lion Music on 18th March 2011.
Conceived in early 2010 from the ashes of Italian progressive metallers Moonlight Comedy, Simone Fiorletta’s intention was to enclose in a single album the best singers of the Power/Prog world with each track tailored for each vocalists individual style; and what a selection of vocalists No Gravity have enrolled!
With Andy Kuntz (Vanden Plas), Michele Luppi (Killing Touch, ex Vision Divine), Fabio Lione (Rhapsody Of Fire, Vision Divine), Mark Basile (DGM), Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth) and Emiliano Germani (Moonlight Comedy) providing the vocal angle this release makes a serious statement of intent from this new band.
The No Gravity line-up is completed by an equally skilled band. In addition to Simone Fiorletta’s virtuoso guitar work we have second guitarist Davide Perruzza, keyboardist Andrea De Paoli, bassist Andrea Casali and drummer Marco Aiello who all form a formidable unit with instrumental prowess and the delivery to rival the genre’s big names.
The music for ‘Worlds In Collision’ was entirely written and arranged by Simone Fiorletta whilst each tracks vocalists were given the task of composing their own lyrics and vocal melodies. The album was recorded, mastered and mixed by Fiorletta at his studio; with the exception of the vocal tracks which were recorded at various studios of the singers own choice.
Stylistically ‘Worlds In Collision’ includes many facets of modern Power-Prog Metal. There are moments of pure virtuosity but all the time there is the will of the song coming first and foremost. The listener will find numerous musical textures with moments of light and shade, dark and heavy themes and stunning musicianship which continue to reveal new depths on each subsequent listen. Yet No Gravity have managed to craft an album that is instantly listenable and despite the numerous vocalists the albums has its own distinct sound – ones that will appeal to fans of the leading names in prog/power metal as well as the more adventurous metal fan in general.
With ‘Worlds In Collision’ No Gravity have produced a superb debut album and marks an exciting new chapter in the career of one of Italy’s most respected musicians.
