LAST CHANCE TO REASON teamed up with producer Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me) to create a modern take on the classic progressive concept album. Drawing influence from the 70’s prog of King Crimson and Yes, composers Steve Reich and Schoenberg as well as prog-metal masters Opeth, Dream Theater and Cynic, LCTR’s “Level 2” takes the band in awe-inspiring new directions.
Set in a Tron-like virtual world, the album’s concept revolves around the relationship between man and technology, our move from physical reality to virtual spaces and what these changes mean to our lives and our art. The lyrics are expressed from the point of view of an artificial intelligence facing the violent reality of a videogame world.

Swedish epic metallers Quicksand Dream are streaming their recently rediscovered album.
Aelin: A Story About Destiny in full at Stereokiller.com. Head over to www.stereokiller.com/QuicksandDream to experience this classic masterpiece which has finally claimed its proper spot in heavy metal history. Aelin: A Story About Destiny was reissued in the winter of 2010 by Planet Metal and has since become a favorite amongst fans, critics and metal purists across the board.
A true gem from the heavy metal underground! QUICKSAND DREAM was a treasured obscurity even during its original active period in Sweden during the early 1990s. In 1996, the core duo of Göran Jacobson and Patrick Backlund reconvened to record the ambitious and imaginative Aelin concept album. Upon its completion in 1999, the album was only circulated among friends and has remained largely unheard and unknown until now. With sophisticated and unique narrative-style songwriting and an elegant 16-page booklet to illustrate the album’s epic tale, Aelin: A Story About Destiny is a mandatory release for any fan of Epic Heavy Metal. Fans of Manilla Road, Fates Warning, Cirith Ungol, While Heaven Wept, Candlemass, and epic-era Bathory take notice!

No Gravity are a new progressive power metal outfit and the brainchild of renowned guitarist Simone Fiorletta. Their debut release ‘Worlds In Collision’ features some of the most illustrious vocalists in the power/prog metal field and sees release on Lion Music on 18th March 2011.
Conceived in early 2010 from the ashes of Italian progressive metallers Moonlight Comedy, Simone Fiorletta’s intention was to enclose in a single album the best singers of the Power/Prog world with each track tailored for each vocalists individual style; and what a selection of vocalists No Gravity have enrolled!
With Andy Kuntz (Vanden Plas), Michele Luppi (Killing Touch, ex Vision Divine), Fabio Lione (Rhapsody Of Fire, Vision Divine), Mark Basile (DGM), Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth) and Emiliano Germani (Moonlight Comedy) providing the vocal angle this release makes a serious statement of intent from this new band.
The No Gravity line-up is completed by an equally skilled band. In addition to Simone Fiorletta’s virtuoso guitar work we have second guitarist Davide Perruzza, keyboardist Andrea De Paoli, bassist Andrea Casali and drummer Marco Aiello who all form a formidable unit with instrumental prowess and the delivery to rival the genre’s big names.
The music for ‘Worlds In Collision’ was entirely written and arranged by Simone Fiorletta whilst each tracks vocalists were given the task of composing their own lyrics and vocal melodies. The album was recorded, mastered and mixed by Fiorletta at his studio; with the exception of the vocal tracks which were recorded at various studios of the singers own choice.
Stylistically ‘Worlds In Collision’ includes many facets of modern Power-Prog Metal. There are moments of pure virtuosity but all the time there is the will of the song coming first and foremost. The listener will find numerous musical textures with moments of light and shade, dark and heavy themes and stunning musicianship which continue to reveal new depths on each subsequent listen. Yet No Gravity have managed to craft an album that is instantly listenable and despite the numerous vocalists the albums has its own distinct sound – ones that will appeal to fans of the leading names in prog/power metal as well as the more adventurous metal fan in general.
With ‘Worlds In Collision’ No Gravity have produced a superb debut album and marks an exciting new chapter in the career of one of Italy’s most respected musicians.

I have been looking forward to this gig since I first heard about it a few months ago. Two things potentially worried me about this night. First, as much as I love the Camden Underworld, I feel it may be a little on the small side for a Band like ‘Crowbar’. Second, it is still three weeks until their new album is released and I really wanted to get to know it before the gig.
After enjoying the usual few drinks in the Worlds End pub above the Underworld Venue, I headed straight in and towards the merchandise table hoping to try and spot an advance copy of the album but of course I am just kidding myself! It was refreshing to see current Crowbar guitarist, ‘Matthew Brunson’ serving, chatting and being very accepting to the fans eager to buy t-shirts.

DEICIDE will also embark on the ‘God is Dead – To Hell With God’ tour in support of the new record. The headlining run will feature support from Belphegor, Neuraxis, Blackguard and Pathology.

A supergroup of musicians from the heavy 90s’ scene, united by their desire to play raw, aggressive and sludgy metal. Down from New Orleans consists of singer Phil Anselmo (ex-Pantera), guitarists Pepper Keenan (ex-Corrosion Of Conformity) and Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), drummer Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod) and “newbie” (joined in 1999) bassist Rex Brown (ex-Pantera). The band’s classic debut “NOLA” arrived in 1995, and they are currently working on their fourth album. Their releases may be few and far between, but Down is still recognized as one of the finest metal bands of our time. Regardless if you prefer “old-school” or “modern” metal, this is a SRF-debut to look forward to.

Eagle Rock Entertainment have been deeply saddened by the news of the death of Gary Moore, the consummate musician acknowledged as one of the finest guitarists that the British Isles has ever produced. In a career that dates back to the 1960s, there are few musical genres that he has not turned his adroit musical hand to, and on top of his acclaimed solo work he has graced the line-ups of several notable rock bands, Thin Lizzy, Colosseum II and Skid Row to name but three.
Eagle Rock Entertainment were privileged to work with Gary Moore and his team on many projects over the past few years – releasing his three most recent studio albums, a live box set album, three DVDs and a Blu-ray. It was a relationship that began in 2004 and was cherished by all those at the label.
Lindsay Brown of Eagle Rock Entertainment commented, “Gary Moore was truly a giant of contemporary guitarists. We feel honored to have worked with him, released his amazing music and indeed to have called him a friend. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him, and all fans of original guitar music, and leaves a gap that simply cannot be filled.”
Mike Carden, President of Operations for Eagle Rock in North America, adds “It isn’t often you get the opportunity to work with a legend who is also a gentlemen. Gary Moore was such a legend and he will be sorely missed.”
