You can download it for free at http://www.myspace.com/alajaband
1 – The mechanical god (06:16)

Extreme metal at its very best, plain and simple, is what the Atlanta based quintet DAATH delivers. Currently the group is more determined, energized, and focused than ever before and is continuing to expand upon their unique, uncompromising and dynamic sound. For those previously uninitiated, feel free to head over to www.myspace.com/daath to see what they are all about.
DAATH are currently putting the finishing touches on their much anticipated third album, which is being co-produced by the renowned Mark Lewis (Trivium, Devildriver) and Eyal Levi (guitars). Metal Mark from Skulls N Bones recently spent some time in the studio with the band and compiled a video series documenting the recording process, so click on the link below now to check out the first installment. http://www.skullsnbones.com/video/daath-studio-report-the-new
Levi further states: “It’s hard to write about your own music so I’m going to keep this quick. DAATH has a new record coming out this October. This is the most unrestrained and over the top collection of songs we’ve ever captured. We went in with the intent of creating a freak show of a record and we achieved it. People looking for a wrecking ball of an album will be happy. People looking for an album they’ll still hear new things in one year down the road will be happy. People going in with any preconceived notions of who we are and what we sound like are in for a surprise.”

The German power metal squad Gamma Ray made their debut gig in 2000 at the Tuska festival. Since then the German power metal tornado has been a regular visitor up in Finland. The band has gained the solid fanbase resulting gigs have been quite packed and even sold out. The latest album titled TO THE METAL presents the true Gamma Ray power metal from the beginning to the end. It aint wonder why the editor-in-chief worships. However before Gamma Ray got on the stage at Nosturi, we had an opportunity of chatting both Dirk Schlächter and Dan Zimmerman .
Sabaton vocalist Joakim Brodén recently spoke to Metal-Rules.com about many topics one of the more important ones being about the importance of history.
Metal-Rules.com: So do you think it’s a crime that some people forget historical things that have happened, and the reasons why they happened? The saying goes “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.”.
Joakim: Yes. I don’t think it’s important to know exactly on which date that something happened. This was something from history class where I was always thinking “Why the fuck should I remember exactly which year what Swedish king ruled?”. I knew it was in the late 1600’s but that was enough. What is important is what happened, what were the consequences, what was the igniting spark. Like the start of World War I or World War II – why, how, and approximately when – that might be interesting. I don’t know how it is on the other side of the Atlantic, but history here in Scandinavia, and at least in Poland, and Germany it’s focused too much on remembering dates to make it easy for the teachers instead of what happened. So yeah I agree. It’s not a crime, but it’s very important. I don’t know how old you are but I’m turning 30 this year and my mother is in the Czech Republic. She was on the wrong side of the Berlin Wall growing up and I’ve been there myself while it was still there. I have met people who were in concentration camps and things. I think if you are in your late 20’s and above, you are going to have some kind of relationship with this because you’re bound to even have say a friend’s Grandfather who was involved, especially here in Europe.”
“So I think in a sense, if someone is maybe 16 today, they are not going to have second hand experience even, like we have where we met somebody who was actually there to tell it so there is an emotional connection to it. For them it’s going to be more of a fucking history lesson which might be totally boring and uninteresting. I’m afraid that in maybe 15 years or in 35 years, they are the ones who will be presidents or prime minister’s and they may do all this same shit over again.”

ANGELS OF BABYLON features former MANOWAR drummer Rhino, Arizona based power-metal vocalist David Fefolt, guitarist Ethan Brosh and MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. With this intense line-up of heavy metal greats and sharp musicians, ANGELS OF BABYLON is sure to see success in this evolving industry and genre. Forging ahead with the sounds of classic metal, while bringing fusion of new technique and prowess, the band is a new force to be reckoned with. With the launch of Kingdom of Evil worldwide, Earth will soon know the excellence that is ANGELS OF BABYLON.
ANGELS OF BABYLON drummer and Nashville, TN native Rhino began compiling tracks featured on Kingdom of Evil many years ago, but was patiently waiting for the optimum lineup to record and release an album. Rhino is well known for his amazing work with MANOWAR. In 1991, Rhino appeared on The Triumph of Steel; one of MANOWAR’s best selling album to date. Rhino continued on with MANOWAR, touring Europe multiple times and cruising through Japan between 1992-1995. Rhino left MANOWAR in 1995 to pursue personal interest. In the coming years, Rhino was soon introduced to Fefolt, Ellefson and Brosh, and they provided the key to his inspiration to forge ahead and complete the album.
Vocalist David Fefolt feels this album will surprise a lot of people due to its classic metal sound, but with an accent of majestic arrangements throughout. Fefolt was a member of the epic metal band, VALHALLA, and their debut album is still considered one of the staples of metal vinyl collectors worldwide.
Bassist David Ellefson is well known for his time with thrash icons MEGADETH. From1983 to 2002, Ellefson held his place as the co-founder and original bassist in the band. In February of 2010, Ellefson rejoined the ranks of MEGADETH, just in time for the much anticipated “Rust In Peace” 20th Anniversary tour of North America, aside fellow thrash legends TESTAMENT and EXODUS.
Guitarist Ethan Brosh graduated from Berklee in 2004 with honors and a major in songwriting before returning to the school in 2008 to teach. Brosh is currently an instructor in the guitar sessions program. His debut instrumental album Out of Oblivion, was released on March 24th 2009 by Magna Carta Records, and features impressive guest appearances and production credits. Read the rest of this entry »
(New York, NY) — DARKEST HOUR are about to enter the studio and they have announced that they are teaming up with renowned SOILWORK shredder Peter Wilchers. The band has put a lot of time and thought into choosing the right producer for this record and they’re convinced they’ve found one. “We’re really excited about working with Peter on this album. It’s going to be amazing collaborating with such an inventive and unique guitarist/musician to produce and document what we feel is the most emotional and melodic Darkest Hour album to date,” says drummer Ryan Parish.
With records such as ALL THAT REMAINS’ “The Fall of Ideals” and SOILWORK’s latest effort, “The Panic Broadcast” under his belt, DARKEST HOUR are quite confident in what Peter brings to the table. “Peter is someone we’ve admired and very much respected as a musician and producer for quite some time. Being a pioneer of the Swedish metal sound, (which has so greatly influenced our band) we hope to refine all of those classic elements with him and incorporate new methods to improve our songwriting” says font man John Henry.
This time around, these songs we’re done a bit differently. Guitarist and founding member Mike Schleibaum explains, “We have been working on these tunes ever since we left the studio last April. The Eternal Return was written during a very dark, bleak time for the band and I think that record matches that in both tone and character. Our vision was for it to be an in your face, no frill aggressive assault. The new material shares in that aggression and pushes Darkest Hour beyond the unknown.” The new songs are just about finished and ready for the studio. “I am very exited to work alongside the Darkest Hours guys, and I know from hearing some of their new material that it will be a killer one,” says Wilchers himself.
For more information on DARKEST HOUR and their experience in the studio with Peter, visit http://www.darkesthour.cc for updates over the next few months.

ACCEPT – First video “Teutonic Terror” from the upcoming album “Blood Of The Nations”
Like many here in North America, I only discovered Sabaton sometime in 2008 with their glorious album THE ART OF WAR. Their spin on the power metal style was, and remains, refreshing. Not that I don’t love the mighty warrior dragon wizard stuff as well, but I’ve always been interested in history and especially fascinated by World War II. So after hearing Sabaton sing about WWII and other wars and conflicts, the mixture of history and metal was a winning combination. With Sabaton’s 2010 release COAT OF ARMS the band continues on the same path honing some amazingly catchy and memorable anthems. I had the opportunity to speak with the voice of Sabaton, Joakim Brodén, in late July 2010. We spoke about the band’s image, and about war and how it is more than just history. It is something that should be studied not to memorize specific dates, but to learn from what has happened so that the same things will not happen again.
The Frozen Tears of Angels interview with Alex Staropoli
Interview and transcription by Erich Heintzelman
I recently spoke with Alex Staropoli, the keyboardist for Rhapsody On Fire about their new album, Frozen Lake of Tears. Due to legality issues, Alex and I did not discuss the band’s struggles over the last four years but Alex expalined the making of the new album, plans for a tour, and what he considers to be one of the best bands making music right now.
