EXODUS’ ninth studio album, Exhibit B: The Human Condition
Deemed one of metal’s most important heritage bands for the lasting – and ongoing – contributions they’ve made to the creation and sustenance of the thrash metal genre, Bay Area thrashers EXODUS teamed up once again with SchneppZone video director Jon Schnepp of Metalocalypse fame for a visually pummeling video… so pummeling, in fact, that you can hurt yourself!
***VIEWERS WHO ARE EPILEPTIC OR PRONE TO SEIZURESARE ASKED NOT TO VIEW THIS VIDEO DUE TO ITS STROBING EFFECT.***
About getting to work with EXODUS again, Schnepp stated: “I think their music is incredible and they always give me 100% at the video shoot. Working with these legends of thrash metal again has been a blast!”
EXODUS’ ninth studio album, Exhibit B: The Human Condition, hit #1 on the CMJ Loud Rock radio chart and sold over 4,600 copies in the U.S. the week of its release according to Nielsen SoundScan. Exhibit B debuted at #114 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, #43 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart, #19 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart, and #12 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart. The album alsodebuted at #19 on the Neilsen SoundScan LOUD Chart in Canada.
Before EXODUS launch their headlining “March Of Brutality” tour of North America with Malevolent Creation, Holy Grail, and Bonded By Blood, they’ll make a special one-off appearance at the Ozzfest kick-off show in San Bernardino, California on Saturday, August 14th.
The Winter Tour stage is being built as we speak and the entire band is counting the days till we get to fire up the new show. As always we are determined to take the show to another level. Can’t wait to see you on the road.

Guitarist/vocalist Adam “Nergal” Darski of Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH, who was reportedly rushed to the Gdansk Medical University Hospital over the weekend to receive treatment for an undisclosed illness, has released the following English-language statement regarding his condition:
“I’d like to announce that BEHEMOTH won’t be able to tour for the forseeable future.
“I don’t wanna bore you with details here, but I’m sick and am receiving some serious medical treatment. It’s gonna take another few weeks or more for full recovery, and so we have been forced to cancel all the BEHEMOTH shows in August, planned dates in Russia and Baltic States for September and October and our American tour in November.
“I know how much it sucks, but health comes first.
“I can assure all of you that when we return, I’ll be stronger than death, and we’ll reschedule every tour as soon as logistics allow.
“I feel good and strong, my mind is focused, I’ve got my loving woman by my side, my band mates, friends (never thought there are so many, haha), management, agents and label people are giving me massive support. I can’t ask for more but a little patience now.
“The fact that we won’t be touring for the next few months doesn’t mean we’ll hibernate. BEHEMOTH will be active on several other levels.
“In upcoming days you can expect the premiere of our newest video, ‘Alas, Lord Is Upon Me’, which is by far the sickest fuckin’ thing we’ve ever done! ‘Evangelia Heretika’ DVD is coming out as scheduled in November this year. Also, check out our webstore that opens for international markets in upcoming weeks.
“This is it for now. Stay tuned!”
Jaroslaw Burdek, manager of Darski’s girlfriend, 26-year-old Polish pop singer Doda (real name: Dorota Rabczewska), reportedly told the media in Poland that Nergal had been ill for several days prior to being admitted to the hospital.
It was reported by Se.pl that Darski was taken to the hematology division of the Gdansk Medical University Hospital, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Hematology, also spelled haematology, is the branch of internal medicine, physiology, pathology, clinical laboratory work, and pediatrics that is concerned with the study of blood, the blood-forming organs, and blood diseases.
BEHEMOTH’s second DVD, “Evangelia Heretika”, will be released in the U.S. via Metal Blade Records, in Europe through Nuclear Blast Records, and in Poland via Mystic Records.
BEHEMOTH recently shot a video for the song “Alas The Lord Is Upon Me”, taken from the band’s latest album, “Evangelion”. The clip was produced and directed by Dariusz Szermanowicz and Grupa 13, which previously helmed BEHEMOTH’s videos for “Ov Fire And The Void” and “At The Left Hand Ov God”.

PITCH BLACK RECORDS and the entire Power of the Night Festival team would like to extend their warmest thanks and congratulations to Ross the Boss and his band as well as Scott Columbus for an outstanding performance at Power of the Night Festival in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Special thanks also for the last-minute addition of an unrehearsed ‘Hail to England’ re-titled ‘Hail to Cyprus’ especially for that evening. A decision which as singer Patrick Fuchs commented was based primarily on the warm hospitality the band experienced during their time in Cyprus as well as the audience’s enthusiastic reaction. Fan-filmed video available below:
Ross the Boss delivered top quality metal and proved again both on stage as well as off stage that good solid heavy metal is also comprised of good character and courtesy and of course a tremendous respect for fans. Ross the Boss is indeed a TRUE metal leader!
Pitch Black Records would like to wish Ross the Boss the best of luck with their new album scheduled for release in November on AFM Records. We are more than confident that it will simply destroy everything in its path!
Ross, Patrick, Carsten, Matze and Scott WE THANK YOU!
A severe thunderstorm hit the Sonisphere heavy metal music festival in southwestern Finland Sunday, injuring dozens and damaging the equipment of several bands including MÖTLEY CRÜE, organisers said.
“A severe thunderstorm hit (the) Sonisphere Festival in Pori, Finland this afternoon at approximately 4:00 pm (1300 GMT),” the organisers said in a statement.
“Strong freak wind gusts damaged the stages and knocked down tents and fences. Approximately 40 people were injured, two of them seriously,” the statement said, adding that those hurt had been taken to hospital for treatment.
Some 30,000 people were attending the two-day festival, where groups like IRON MAIDEN, ALICE COOPER, Mötley Crüe and IGGY POP had been scheduled to play, and the organisers said they were “doing everything we can to ensure that the show can take place.”
However, one of the stages suffered massive damage and had been closed, and several concerts, including Mötley Crüe’s, were cancelled due to damaged equipment.
Iggy Pop meanwhile opted to play an acoustic set due to the difficulty using electric equipment, while Alice Cooper had borrowed equipment from SLAYER, the organisers said.
Iron Maiden, the highlight of the festival, would also play the finishing concert as planned Sunday evening, although the set had been slightly postponed, they added.
“The show will run so long as it can run safely,” Sonisphere Festival series producer Stuart Galbraith said in the statement.
According to Finnish media, a plane chartered by Iron Maiden had been severely damaged at the local airport, as had a small helicopter.

David Ellefson is a co-founder and original bassist for legendary metal band Megadeth. Other than vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine, he was the only constant member of Megadeth from the time of their establishment in 1983 to the group’s hiatus in 2002. During that period Megadeth released nine highly successful albums like: RUST IN PEACE, PEACE SELLS … BUT WHO’S BUYING and YOUTHANASIA which are nowadays a thrash metal classics. Mustaine subsequently reformed Megadeth in 2004 but without David Ellefson and it wasn’t until last February when he finally re-joined in the band. During his off-Megadeth years, Ellefson worked with several different bands and projects including: Soulfly, Tim “Ripper” Owens, Killing Machine, F5, and all-star cover band Hail!. Megadeth are currently on tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of RUST IN PEACE and in July 2010 the band arrived to headline the Tuska Festival in Helsinki. Here’s what Dave had to say about their reunion, the projects, and about the future of Megadeth… read on!
Finland is known for its several summer festivals – big or small, but every year some of them do surprise with some interesting band announcements that just cannot be shrugged off totally.
This year, one of the most interesting festivals appeared to be 3-day Myötätuulirock, which has annually been arranged in Vantaa, Finland for 14 years in a row – and is heavily based on some of the hottest Finnish rock/metal names of each ongoing year. The Bay Area veteran thrashers Exodus was announced to be the headliners of the first day of the festival, so that alone made the festival interesting enough to be checked out.
Exodus´ 9th full-length album, EXHIBIT B: THE HUMAN CONDITION was released through Nuclear Blast Records on May this year. There performance surprised many festival attenders by their immensely brutal and heavy load of thrash delivery as the last act on Friday evening. The band confidently churned out both new and old stuff from their well-oiled killing machine over the enthusiastic audience (“The Ballad of Leonard and Charles”, “Blacklist”, “Piranha”, “The Toxic Waltz”, etc.), and was also very well received by a fanatical crowd that seemed to go absolutely berserk in front of their masters, song after song.
Before Exodus went to punish their Finnish fans onstage at Myötätuulirock festival, Gary Holt had a moment to talk to Metal-Rules.com about his memories about the band´s 1st live appearance at Provinssirock festival in Finland in 2003, the ongoing tour, new album, but also reminiscing some blasts from the past.
Finnish Metal-Rules.com staffer, Arto Lehtinen, sent in a short text saying that some form of a tornado has hit the Finnish Sonisphere festival in pori, Finland today August 8th, 2010. This has resulted in collapsed stages, several injured people, damaged properties, and cancellation of Motley Crue. Iggy Pop was forced to do a shortened acoustic set. Alice Cooper’s plane was also affected by the tornado at the airport.

The progressive metal professionals at New Jersey’s Sensory Records — who released the band’s sophomore release April Rain to North American audiences in 2009 (the album released via Roadrunner Records in Europe) — also reissued the band’s debut Lucidity in June, tying perfectly in with this upcoming US appearance of the band. The expanded edition of Lucidity features four full bonus tracks not available on the European version, and was also made available for the first time as a digipak worldwide.
DELAIN was conceived by former Within Temptation keyboard player Martijn Westerholt. Although Within Temptation was a rising star on the European metal scene, Westerholt had to leave the band due to a chronic illness. During his recuperation he wrote the material that would evolve into the Lucidity sessions. For the DELAIN studio project, Westerholt brought together some of the best known names in the European metal scene: Marco Hietala (Nightwish, Tarot), Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation), Liv Kristine (Leaves’ Eyes), and Ad Sluijter (Epica). He also discovered a young vocalist named Charlotte Wessels. With a voice that matched her stunning looks, she immediately became DELAIN’s front woman.
The instant success of Lucidity in the European market necessitated Westerholt to create a fully active, touring band. DELAIN went on tour in support of Within Temptation and other high profile bands, and appearances at festivals as well as Dutch television elevated the band’s status into headlining performers. The band’s follow up album, April Rain, has further established the band as rising stars in the gothic metal scene.
Review copies of the reissue of Lucidity are available to North American journalists now, as well as interviews with the band any time. Please get in touch with any requests.
FIREWIND Triumphantly Returns With Days of Defiance On Oct. 26th,
Release New Digital Single On 8/17 and Post New Video Trailer Online
The Greek metal phenomenon FIREWIND, led by the young guitar sensation Gus G. has returned with the scathing new effort Days of Defiance, which is easily their defining moment. The much anticipated disc is set for an Oct. 26th North American release (Oct. 25th throughout Europe) and it’s a truly ambitious and dynamic opus featuring some of the most brilliant guitar playing the genre has seen in many years. Click on the link below to view a new trailer featuring a clip of the new “World On Fire” single. Be sure to stay tuned to www.myspace.com/firewind in the coming weeks for the new album’s cover art and track listing.
The “World On Fire” single will be available for purchase on digital platforms starting on 8/17, so keep an eye out for that.
Gus G. further states: “Usually when we write an album we let the music come to us and go with the flow. Maybe that’s why our albums have variety and you can hear everything from super heavy songs, to speed metal shredding, to rock anthems and ballads. Days of Defiance wasn’t much different in the making, but this time we recorded almost all of it in our home studios, which allowed us to be more relaxed. That’s why I feel the new album features the best performances by all of us. One of our main goals though was to get a bit more of an ‘unpolished’ sound and be more raw. I think we achieved it and that gives an extra heaviness to the overall sound. We mixed the album in Helsinki, Finland at Sonic Pump Studios. Nino Laurenne (Thunderstone) and Tapio Pennanen mixed it and they did a killer job. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”
