INFAMOUS METAL/SATIRE BAND ZIMMER’S HOLE FEATURING 3/4 OF STRAPPING YOUNG LAD TO PLAY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 6 YEARS!
Zimmers Hole is best known for their crazy theatrical live show full of props, humor and blistering old school metal influence. Zimmers Hole are set to play at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver BC Canada, January 23nd 2015 for the first time in 6 years Zimmer’s hole’s current lineup is:
– Chris “The Heathen” Valagao (West of Hell)
– Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad, Frontline Assmbly, Tenet, Scar the Martyr)
– Gene Hoglan (Testament, Dark Angel, Strapping Young Lad etc….)
– Byron Stroud (Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory, 3 Inches of Blood, City of Fire)
The Hole will be playing songs from Bound By Fire, Legion Of Flames and When you were shouting at the Devil, We were in League with Satan.
The line up for the show is as follows
ZIMMERS HOLE – When You Were Shouting At The Devil…
The band members all live in Connecticut, a state where graveyards can be found on just about every street corner, so it’s no surprise that the new music video for “Taken” was shot on an abandoned island in Bridgeport with a cast of creatures from the “other side.” We’re talking Zombies here, nasty ones, and they apparently heed the whims of their siren mistress (played by tattoo model/Instagram starling Leah Jung). Jung lures the band to her isle of the damned where they are condemned to play their classic, hard-hitting metal style for her and her legions – eternally.
New Jersey metallists Seven Witches are ready to assault your senses once again, with a fierce new album, ‘The Way of the Wicked.’ Comprised of singer Anthony Cross, guitarist Jack Frost, bassist Ronnie Parkes, and drummer Johnny Kelly, Seven Witches picks up exactly where their hard-hitting last album left off, 2013’s ‘Rebirth.’ And this is especially apparent in the album’s second video, “World Without Man.”
“When I got the demo version of the music, I knew these were the lyrics I wanted to use for it,” recalls Cross. “The opening line was something that I had jotted down some time ago. ‘How would it be, if one day, man no longer was?'”
“Think about it….you’ve seen documentaries that show you that if human life ceased to exist, the planet would start to heal. Lyrically, this is where this came from. I’m also a big fan of the Richard Matheson story, ‘I Am Legend,’ so that fed into it as well. So really, if everyone and everything was gone, how would you go on with your life?”
The “World Without Man” video can be viewed via this link:
And according to Cross, his songwriting union with Frost is already a career highlight. “Writing with Jack Frost is a treat! He will usually come up with suggestions and ideas that I would never think of. And in the end we are both happy with the result.” And the union is already paying off, as evidenced by the song “World Without Man,” and the full-length ‘The Way of the Wicked.’

Interview with frontman Trevor Strnad

Michigan’s The Black Dahlia Murder have been one of America’s most consistent and successful melodic death metal bands for more than a decade, despite persistent lineup turmoil that only recently seems to have eased. Every two years, here they come with another album and a ton of shows to support it – and it’s been like that since their debut album Unhallowed in 2003. Their seventh and latest effort, Abysmal, was issued via Metal Blade on Sept. 18.
From their rough and tumble metalcorey early years, to the sleeker, tech-death turn of 2009’s Deflorate and the more brutal histrionics on 2013’s Everblack and the black metal-tinged Abysmal, Black Dahlia have always retained their death metal core while at the same time showing a willingness to explore other realms of the genre. They also are one of the most exuberant and engaging live acts around, led by often-shirtless Tasmanian Devil-like frontman Trevor Strnad, equally at home playing ahead of Behemoth and Cannibal Corpse during the 2009 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival or performing as part of the 2013 Warped Tour.
On the phone, in the first of what was going to be more than 40 interviews in 20-minute increments over two days, a suitably high-spirited Strnad offered the following about Black Dahlia’s enduring work ethic, musical growth and place in the modern death metal pantheon, his love of and obsession for extreme music, and his all-around enthusiasm that is as infectious when speaking to him as it is when the band plays live.
Metal Mind Production will release “Valley Of Tears”, the new album by the British heavy metal legend TANK, onSeptember, 25th. An official lyric video to „Make a Little Time”, the second track promoting the album is available here:
Cliff Evan, Tank’s guitarist comments: “With a classic ‘rock n roll’ vibe and a chorus that will stick in your memory for ever, ‘Make a Little Time’ shows that Tank and it’s new line up can successfully deliver everything from full on metal to laid back rock anthems that will no doubt establish Tank as one of Britain’s best rock bands.”
Interview with Ross “The Boss” Friedman
Conducted by Robert Williams
We are nearing the end of September as I write this and there is plenty of reason to get excited as the sweltering heat of summer gives way to fall. I love this time of year. Not just for all of the Halloween horror movie hoopla that October brings, but this year my attention is more focused on the second day of October as that is the day that “Hallowed Ground” the second album from the power metal all-star group Death Dealer (featuring current and former members of Manowar, Cage, Lizzy Borden & Empires of Eden) is officially released via the band’s new record label Sweden Music Group. Having heard an advance of the new album I can tell you that if the band’s debut album “War Master” sunk it’s hooks deep into your flesh, rest assured that “Hallowed Ground” is even more of a metal monsterpiece of a record. Faster, heavier, louder is this second testament of steel. I reached out to my old friend (not to mention my all-time favorite guitarist) Ross “The Boss” Friedman to fill us in on all of the current excitement emerging from the Death Dealer camp… Read the rest of this entry »

Today Finnish metal superstars CHILDREN OF BODOM have released the first official music video for “Morrigan” from their ninth studio album I Worship Chaos that is set for an October 2nd release via Nuclear Blast. Legendary, Swedish director Patric Ullaueus known for his work with Europe, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy and others, handled the production duties on the video. Check out the video HERE.
Patric states: “The last time I worked with COB we did great stuff together.
Trashed, Lost and Strungout was Gold awarded and the Chaos Ridden Years Stockholm Knockout Live DVD was also Gold awarded. So after all these years it was a great pleasure to get to work with them again. The band decided not to be in the video as they wanted to tell the story about The Warrior Goddess Morrigan and together with the band we made this tale about a man fighting his inner demons.”

Kokomo, IN (September 14, 2015) — The TONECVLT Series speakers were designed by Neal Cunningham specifically for metal players who seek a high-power, high-volume assault while still achieving maximum tone. Spawning from the still-new Weber Gray Wolf speaker, these new designs take the aggressive sonic palate to its extreme logical conclusion. We offer five different models for varying tonal options, but the one thing they have in common is a gigantic sound that will surely appease the gods.
Dire Wolf (100w, 2” VC) – the biggest and baddest version of the Gray Wolf, the best all-purpose speaker in the series with tons of midrange bite and low end that is huge without being boomy. Also available in 12 ohm
Gray Wolf (100w, 1.75” VC)– the originator of the series, originally designed to take the Weber Blue Dog’s clear tonality to a more aggressive place.
Silver Wolf (100w, 1.75” VC) – the logical expansion of the Weber Silver Bell, this speaker focuses more on the low end and precious lower mids making it the perfect companion to the Gray Wolf.
Bloodhound (100w, 2” VC) – designed specifically with down-tuned and baritone guitars in mind, this speaker uses the 55Hz cone for deep and powerful lows, with a particularly looser feel that sounds great with heavy fuzz. Also available in 12 ohm
Black Shuck (200w, 2” VC)– the mightiest of the canines, this speaker handles the heaviest low end and fuzz, and can even be used on bass guitar (in conjunction with our Bass12’s for maximum tone)
Note about impedance: we offer these speakers in 12- and 24-ohm as an option, specifically for 6×12 cabinets, which avoids the common problem of some speakers receiving more power than others, but rather balances it out so each speaker can be as full as possible. (24-ohm all parallel = 4 ohm cab. 12-ohm series-parallel = 8 ohm cab)

San Diego-based metallists Cage are set to return on October 30th, with the release of their latest metallic tour de force, ‘Ancient Evil,’ which has been prefaced by a lyric video for the killer composition, “The Procedure”.
“We really love how creepy the video came out, it’s like a mini movie almost,” explains singer Sean “The Hell Destroyer” Peck. “This song will give people a good idea of what they are in for on this massive, heavy metal, horror story thrill ride!” Rounding out the band are Dave “Conan” Garcia (guitars), Casey “The Sentinel” Trask (guitars), Alex Pickard (bass guitar), and Sean “The Thrash Machine” Elg (drums).

Top 5 metal versions of non metal songs
The idea for these lists is simple; when a metal band takes a song that isn’t metal, and turns it into a metal song! We asked our staff what cover songs were the coolest and this is the result.
