LYNCH MOB – The Brotherhood Coming September 8th On Rat Pak Records

July 14th, 2017
by Celtic Bob

Produced by Chris “The Wizard” Collier (Lynch Mob; Flotsam And Jetsam; Prong; KXM), “The Brotherhood” features eleven brand new hard rock tracks from Lynch Mob. This album will surely resonate with long time fans of the band, as well as those longing for that good ol’ hard rock sound and feel. “The Brotherhood” highlights the unique pairing of Oni Logan and George Lynch, and along with Sean McNabb (bass) and Jimmy D’Anda (drums), the band has created a solid offering from start to finish. From the heavy guitar riffs of the opening track “Main Offender” to the melodic album finale ”Miles Away”, Lynch Mob have once again proven they remain on top of their game and at the top of their genre!

On the subject of Lynch Mob’s new record, Oni Logan comments, “After doing quite a few miles together with this latest line-up of Sean McNabb and Jimmy D’Anda, we consider ourselves a pack of wolves, and we came up with the name ‘The Brotherhood’ for the title of the next Lynch Mob album. It’s got more of an adventurous sound in part and maybe a darker, colder sound to it. We are always willing to go farther. We come from the early 90’s and it’s when we released the first Lynch Mob album which set a sound and course for us. Here we are 27 years later, George and I are still able to keep on stretching. As a player, as a writer, that is very important to us. Otherwise we would be fooling ourselves and fooling you”.

George Lynch adds, “We wrote this album as a band and the name of the record reflects what the band is about, and what all my bands have been about since I’ve been a kid. This is my second family. These are my brothers. You go through a lot together and have a lot of experiences together. And that then becomes a part of the music.” Official release date for “The Brotherhood” is Friday September 08, 2017. PRE-ORDER AT: www.ratpakrecords.com/lynchmob [photos attached]

ALICE COOPER: Welcome To My Nightmare Special Edition DVD – September 8, 2017

July 11th, 2017
by Celtic Bob

Alice Cooper’s Welcome To My Nightmare Special Edition DVD will be released on September 8, 2017 via Eagle Rock Entertainment. The DVD features the 1975 TV special Alice Cooper: The Nightmare, now available on DVD for the first time, along with the 1976 Welcome To My Nightmare concert film.

Aired on ABC in the US, Alice Cooper: The Nightmare showcases every song from the legendary Welcome To My Nightmare album, which had just been released at the time. With Cooper taking on the role of Steven, and Vincent Price serving as The Spirit Of The Nightmare, this special was a unique introduction to his new album, drawing fans even further into the dark fantasy.

Melding horror, theater, and rock music, Alice Cooper’s Welcome To My Nightmare was a stage show the likes of which was never seen before. Hits and classics songs like “School’s Out”, “Only Women Bleed”, “Billion Dollar Babies”, “Welcome To My Nightmare”, “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, “I’m Eighteen”, and “Department Of Youth” were backdropped with giant spiders, skeletons, a cyclops, and the voice of horror royalty Vincent Price. This groundbreaking theatrical presentation scintillated, horrified, and thrilled audiences, delivering an experience unlike any concerts at the time. He truly brought spectators into a living (or unliving) nightmare, and they loved every minute of it.

The combination of the Welcome To My Nightmare concert film and Alice Cooper: The Nightmare TV special demonstrates the true genius of Alice Cooper. He is beyond music, and beyond horror – Alice Cooper is an experience, who continues to frighten and thrill audiences to this day.

Brutal Assault : Updated about VIP camp and parking

July 9th, 2017
by Arto Lehtinen

WE DECLARE WAR ON QUEUES

Our new FULFILLMENT service we have informed You about recently is a part of our strategy to elimite waiting queues to enter the festival area. We still have in mind the events of last year’s festival Wednesday and so we are implementing strategy to get rid of the queues. Apart from the fulfillment service that will check-in lots of people at home, we are doubling our capacity for swapping with one extra tent with the same overall capacity we had available last year. On top of that we’re gonna learn from problematic issues we encountered the last time so the queues won’t happen again.

TENTS IN E-SHOP, VIP CAMP AND PARKNIG CAPACITY INFO

We’re now approaching selling out of our VIP CAMP, so VIP CAMP 2 is being added to the e-shop as of now. Based on numerous inquiries we also added party tent option to our VIP camp but since these are taking a lot of space and we don’t generally want them, the price will be corresponding to a large 6 person tent. Next thing we need to adress based on frequent queries is the parking, we are completely sold out and have no extra capacity at our disposal. Last notice is a good news for travellers from far who don’t want to carry their own tent, we have now added a service to our eshop where you can order a tent be picked up at VIP camping reception.

SWEDENROCK 2017

July 9th, 2017
by Marko Syrjala

SWEDENROCK 2017

Once again, the Finnish Metal-Rules.com two-man-team made their annual road trip to Sweden Rock.  The 2017 line up presented a wide range of metal and hard rock as usual. Over 70 bands offered one hell of an experience for the attendees during the four-day festival. Sweden Rock has been successful during the past twenty years, always being sold out as it was again this year. However, it took a bit longer until all the tickets were gone this year. It has become quite logical for us to give an in-depth report on several bands performing at Sweden Rock to all the readers out there. It was an enormous pleasure to testify Scorpions, Venom, Ratt, Warlock, Running Wild, and a whole lot more.  Unfortunately, we are not able to cover every bloody band, but hopefully, you will have a pleasant reading experience… Stay hard, True As Steel.

Pro-Pain’s Gary Meskil stabbed in Brussels

July 6th, 2017
by Arto Lehtinen

This past Monday night, Gary was the victim of a Robbery and Attempted Murder in Brussels. He was pick-pocketed of cash, credit card, and passport, struck on the head with an ice pick and then subsequently attacked by a gang of individuals. The police have confiscated more than one weapon and they have established the identities of some of the suspects. Gary was quickly admitted to ICU after suffering head trauma (including several fractures to his face and jaw) and massive blood loss. Since then he has stabilized and is trying his best to recover, but future surgery may be necessary. We regret to inform the fans that the shows scheduled for Roeselare (July 7th) and Osnabruck (July 8th) are now officially cancelled. We will make sure to keep you all informed of any other cancellations and on Gary’s progress.

Thanks for your support at this difficult time.

The Dead Daisies release “We’re An American Band” video

July 5th, 2017
by Celtic Bob

The band is proud to announce the release of an American Classic “We’re An American Band” in celebration of Independence Day and all it stands for.

Singer John Corabi:

“We first did “American Band” by Grand Funk Railroad for our troops in South Korea. We wanted to bring a little bit of something “American” to our men and women in uniform, and give them a taste of home. So, what better way than a classic American tune by a legendary American band. The song went over so well we decided to keep playing it and subsequently recorded it for our “Live and Louder” album. Enjoy the Daisies version, the video, and your FREEDOM the troops are fighting for on this celebration of our independence as a young, sovereign nation!!!”

Fresh from their European Tour playing at some of the biggest Rock Festivals and Sold-Out headline shows, culminating in beyond capacity headline performances in Salzburg, Budapest, Prague & Japan, the band are making their way to the USA. Don’t miss them on their first-ever North American Headline Tour entitled “The Dirty Dozen” marching across the USA in August. Get tickets here: www.thedeaddaisies.com/thedirtydozen

The Dead Daisies’ latest live outing “Live & Louder” continues to garner explosive reviews around the world and is quickly becoming a fan favorite being viewed by them as “best sounding Live Album of all time”.

Rock & Roll is indeed alive and well!!!

LINE-UP:

Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio) – guitars, John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, The Scream) – vocals ,David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink) – guitars, Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake) – bass Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner) – drums

About The Dead Daisies:

Influenced by 70’s and early 80’s rock, The Dead Daisies sound is soulful and accessible – equal parts of Aerosmith, Bad Company and Foreigner: muscular vocals, bluesy riffs, big choruses, powerful melodies and strong hooks. With stellar musicianship and pulverizing live shows, fans worldwide are discovering the band that is bringing back Rock & Roll!

The band features in their ranks some of the finest Rockers on the planet, among them one of the premier lead guitarists of this day and age, Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio). He completes a powerhouse line-up consisting of charismatic singer John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, The Scream), bassist extraordinaire Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), drummer to the stars Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner) and bringing the thunder from down under, Australian rhythm guitarist and founder David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink).

About Grand Funk Railroad:

Grand Funk Railroad, sometimes shortened as Grand Funk, is an American rock band popular during the 1970s, when they toured extensively and played to packed arenas worldwide. David Fricke of Rolling Stone magazine once said, “You cannot talk about rock in the 1970s without talking about Grand Funk Railroad!” Known for their crowd-pleasing arena rock style, the band was well-regarded by audiences despite a relative lack of critical acclaim. The band’s name is a play on words of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, a line that ran through the band’s home town of Flint, Michigan.
