Eden Weint Im Grab present scissor type silhouette video “In der Toten-Taverne”

August 9th, 2017
by EvilG

For a long time fans of the Berlin based Dark Metal band Eden Weint Im Grab needed to wait for the videoclip „In der Toten-Taverne“. The crowdfunding campaign via Startnext and the video shoot had been finished in February already, but afterwards the post-production took a bit longer. But it is a unique video in the scissor type silhouette style („Scherenschnitt“), for which the band found inspiration in the artwork of their current album „Na(c)htodreise“. Director Rainer ZIPP Fränzen, who already did great videos for bands like Dimmu Borgir, Orden Ogan, Atrocity or Leaves’ Eyes tells: „The trip into the afterworld has become a bizarre and ingenious dream. It was a pleasure to work with EwiG again. A drop of bitterness was that the post-production meant much more effort than supposed. That’s why the video collided with a few other projects, that had been planned before, and got delayed. But now it’s finished and can be spread to thrill all the EwiG fans. A big SORRY but a even bigger HAVE FUN to you!“

Aethernaeum call it quits

August 9th, 2017
by EvilG

Aethernaeum with sad news. The upcoming gigs at the Rock For Roots festival on Sep. 1st in Nauen/Germany and on Sep. 30th at Jugendfunkhaus Berlin will be the last ones for the Folk Black Metal band.

“For some of us musical, time and personal priorities have changed that much in the last months and years, that we decided to put the band to rest for now. We can’t say at the moment if it’s going to be an ultimate farewell or for a certain amount of time, since we want to leave all options on the table, particularly since we’re all still friends. But we don’t want to let you wait for new material and gigs in vain and prefer to be honest. To bid farewell won’t be easy, but sometimes it’s better to end things before they become a necessity and don’t feel like an adventure anymore.”

The current album “Naturmystik” and the vinyl single “Zwischen zwei Welten” are also available as a package with a huge discount in the webshops of Einheit Produktionen and Aethernaeum.

Devilskin unveil the brand new video “Believe in Me”

August 9th, 2017
by EvilG

Following an epic debut appearance at Download 2017  in a rammed tent, Devilskin proudly unveil the brand new video for the swaggering Believe in Me.

The Believe in Me video was filmed while the New Zealand band were in the UK for Download, following a tour with Airbourne. This hard hitting love song is taken from their new album Be Like the River, recently included in Metal Hammer’s Best Albums of 2017
so far list.

Watch now the sensational video the Believe In Me below.

“We had spent months looking for a director when myself and Nail stumbled across Shae Stirling at an awards night. Three seconds of looking at his previous work was all we needed to know he was our guy. A month later we are shooting it at the beautiful Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire. With incredible grounds, it really was the perfect location for this video. Grand and foreboding. It features the band in acting roles as well as performing. We had a lot of fun with it.” explains Devilskin’s Paul

The band even scared the locals during the shoot  locals “The location was open to the public so there were quite a few older folks walking their dogs and grandchildren around the forest we were shooting in. Nail and I were in full monster/demon makeup and body paint. We frightened a few locals but not as much as poor precocious six year old –  Poppy  who screamed the forest down from the moment she saw us. She wouldn’t move so her mother asked us to sneak up behind her and scare her out of the park.”

History recently repeated itself for Devilskin as their new album Be Like The River entered their domestic album chart at #1 on week of release. Just 18 months ago their debut album We Rise spent 3 weeks in the pole position. This is unprecedented in rock music in New Zealand and is a testament to the excellence of Devilskin’s brilliant second studio album Be Like The River.

Devilskin have established themselves as a household name in their native New Zealand. Formed in Hamilton in 2010 this four piece rock band are bonded by blood. Paul (bass) and Nic (drums) are father and son, Jennie (vocals) is Nics’ Aunt and Paul’s sister in law, Nail (guitar) is Paul’s evil twin.

Devilskin are writing their next album as we speak and  “hope to be recording in Jan/Feb and then get out and tour the world some more!”

Finally,  the band want to say “Thanks to the friends we have made on our UK tours who keep coming back for more. We are having the time of our lives and we’ll see you guys again real soon! Meanwhile, enjoy the video!”

Musically twisted and possessed, the fearsome and irresistible Devilskin are set to conquer the world.

DIAMOND HEAD Announce North American Tour

August 8th, 2017
by Celtic Bob

Few metal bands have been as influential and have had the longevity as Diamond Head – listed as a major influence by two of metal’s biggest, Metallica and Megadeth. Led by co-founding member/guitarist Brian Tatler, Diamond Head will be launching a North American tour that will include both US and Canadian dates, beginning on August 19th with Psycho Las Vegas festival appearance and ending on September 11th at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, New York.

“We are excited to get back to North America and see our old friends once more,” says Tatler and Wilcox (who resides in the US).

“Diamond Head may not have toured the continent as much as we would have liked way back when, but we are certainly making up for it now! And the band sounds better than ever,” states Brian.

As part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s, Diamond Head came up in the same scene as eventual global headliners Def Leppard and Iron Maiden. And while Diamond Head did not achieve the same commercial success as the aforementioned bands, they did influence countless subsequent musicians – especially Metallica, as it was a then-teenaged Lars Ulrich that befriended the band early on and became a major fan. Subsequently, Metallica has covered such Diamond Head classics as “Am I Evil,” “Helpless,” “The Prince,” and “It’s Electric” multiple times – on multiple platinum releases.

In addition to performing these classics at their upcoming U.S. shows, expect to also hear material performed off their latest release – 2016’s self-titled offering.
There is a new Diamond Head album already in the works (set for release next year).

Soon, many North American headbangers will get their chance to see the legendary Diamond Head and hear the songs that inspired a generation of musicians on a nearby concert stage.

Alice Cooper’s “Paranormal” Dominates The Charts

August 8th, 2017
by Celtic Bob

Alice Cooper and earMUSIC are celebrating the worldwide chart success of Paranormal.

The album was produced by long-time Cooper producer Bob Ezrin for earMUSIC, the rock label part of the Edel AG group, which markets and distributes the album worldwide through its international network.

Paranormal features guests as Larry Mullen of U2, who plays on 9 of the 12 new songs; Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top; Deep Purple’s Roger Glover, as well as a highly anticipated mini-reunion of the original Alice Cooper band members.

Media and fans worldwide have praised the album as a return to Cooper’s early years rock and roll sound.

Some of the chart positions achieved by the album so far are among the highest for Alice Cooper in the last 30 years:

*Germany: #4 (Highest charts entry in 45 years since the classic School’s Out)

*Australia: #4 (Highest chart entry in 39 years).

*Belgium: #5

*USA: #6 (Current album charts (#32 Billboard 200, #1 Hard Music Albums, #3 Current Physical)

*UK: #6 (Highest chart entry in 23 years; #1 Rock Charts #1 independent Charts)

*Sweden: #6 (Highest charts entry in 28 years since the smash hit album “Trash” in 1989).

*Finland: #9 (Best charts entry ever; #1 physical album sales.)

On release date, Paranormal climbed the iTunes rock charts at #1 in 12 countries and the Top 5 in 20 countries.

…to be continued with more charts to be made public shortly

Alice Cooper’s manager Shep Gordon commented, “Working with the earMUSIC team made me remember the days when record companies really contributed to the work and success of an artist.”

Just one day after Alice Cooper’s triumphal return at the top of the charts, the legendary rock icon took over the main stage at Wacken Open Air, the biggest metal festival of its kind, where he was greeted by over 80,000 excited fans.

This year’s edition of Wacken was dedicated to the memory of Motorhead’s Lemmy, who has been a long-time friend of Cooper.

Cooper closed his show with a joyful version of Motorhead’s classic “Ace of Spades.”

When asked to share his memories of Lemmy, during the festival promoter’s press conference, Cooper surprised everybody by offering a donation of $10,000 USD to the Wacken Foundation with one condition: the amount would be spent to give a new talented band the chance to record in a professional studio for the first time — to be one day “the new Alice” or “the new Lemmy.”

Wacken’s founder Thomas Jensen then “relaunched” by promising that he would offer the band the opportunity to play in front of the Wacke’s audience.

Guitarist Steve Mann discuss about Lionheart reunion, new album and his past and current work with Michael Schenker

August 7th, 2017
by Marko Syrjala

Lionheart is a British band that formed in late 1980 by guitarists Steve Mann and Dennis Stratton, bassist Rocky Newton, vocalist Jess Cox, and drummer Frank Noon. The band began playing gigs including regular shows at London’s infamous Marquee club and appearance at The Reading Festival. The band had problems maintaining a consistent line-up. The core personnel of Dennis, Steve and Rocky remained, but it proved difficult to find the right singer and drummer. The line-up of Mann, Stratton, Newton, vocalist Chad Brown and session drummer Bob Jenkins recorded the band’s debut album HOT TONIGHT in 1984. The album failed to attain success, and after several more line-up changes and problems with the label, the band split in 1986. In 2016 Dave Herron of the Rockingham Festival in Nottingham asked Lionheart to reunite for one performance. Original members, Stratton, Mann, and Newton, jumped at the chance and brought in former Lionheart drummer Clive Edwards and new front man Lee Small on lead vocals. The reunion created quite a stir, not least within the band itself, and it was decided to carry on with the subsequent recording of a new album followed by an acclaimed appearance at the 2017 Sweden Rock Festival. I met a cheerful Steve Mann and drummer Clive Edwards after the bands brilliant Swedish Rock performance. We talked about Lionheart’s return, the past, and the band’s new SECOND NATURE album.

In addition to Lionheart, we talked with Steven about his time with the McAuley Schenker Group in the 80s. The band released two successful albums PERFECT TIMING and SAVE YOURSELF with Steve on board. McAuley Schenker Group split up in the early 90’s but now Michael Schenker and Steve Mann are re-connected, and they play together again in Michael Schenker Fest. The band is also planning a new studio album, so it means that Steve will be a very busy man in the near future.

Danny Vaughn says: “It’s been 25 years in the making. From the beginning our goal was to always put on the best live show we could possibly do. This, more than anything else, is what has kept the band alive in the hearts and minds of the fans. And the quotes that our fans have kindly provided for us in the cd booklet bear this out. We are a no frills, no gimmicks, warts and all, balls out rock and roll band. No more, no less. And our audience are family to us. They are just as responsible for how good this concert is as we are. Everybody brought their best game. All that’s left to do is to sit back and enjoy!”

The line-up comprised of founding members vocalist Danny Vaughn and drummer Michael Clayton Arbeeny along with guitar wizard Chris Green, bassist Chris Childs (THUNDER) and ex-TEN keyboardist Ged Rylands, TYKETTO co-headlined “Day 1” of FRF IV and blew the roof off with their performance of the classic “Don’t Come Easy” album from back to front (yes, back to front, not front to back)! Cameras were there to capture every riveting moment and now, with great pleasure, Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to release this special performance on CD/DVD and Blu-Ray! Michael Arbeeny says: “If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a thousand pictures. Tyketto- Live in Milan 2017 not only brings the songs of DON’T COME EASY to life, but also shows the passion and excitement the band takes onstage at every performance. LIVE IN MILAN is simply five brothers enjoying the hell out of what they do…. with a few thousand friends stopping by to join the party.

Tyketto’s debut album, “Don’t Come Easy” is considered a landmark release amongst melodic hard rock albums of the late ‘80s/early ‘90s. While the band has continuously put out quality recordings over the years, fans and critics alike hold the debut album in especially high regard. So, it was with great pleasure that after releasing the band’s most recent studio album, “Reach”, Frontiers invited the band to play Frontiers Rock Festival IV in Milan, IT to not only play tracks from more recent releases, but to play “Don’t Come Easy” in it’s entirety to an adoring audience!

Steelheart Debut Video For “You Got Me Twisted”

August 7th, 2017
by Celtic Bob

Steelheart is the brainchild of Miljenko Matijevic, whose powerful voice and multi-octave range is the heart and soul of the band. They will release their new album “Through Worlds Of Stardust” on September 15th via Frontiers Music Srl.

Recently, Steelheart completed work on a video for their song “You Got Me Twisted”. Today, they have teamed up with Ultimate Classic Rock for an exclusive premiere of the video.

Of the video, Miljenko Matijevic told Ultimate Classic Rock:

“This video was so much fun to make! It is funny, sexy, and rock ‘n roll, as it should be. The scenes in the mansion were filmed at a famous old house which was the home of English film director James Whale during the making of his four classic films: Frankenstein (1931), The Old Dark House (1932), The Invisible Man (1933), and Bride of Frankenstein (1935). The performance scenes were filmed in downtown Los Angeles. My film team and the beautiful actress and model, Shonda Mackey did an amazing job on the video! I am truly excited for the world to see it and I hope you all like the video as much as we had fun making it!”

“Through Worlds Of Stardust” is available for pre-orderhere: http://radi.al/Steelheartor at the links below:

Frontiers: http://www.frontiers.shop (CD & VINYL)
Amazon: http://radi.al/SteelheartAmazon
iTunes: http://radi.al/SteelheartiTunes
Google Play: http://radi.al/SteelheartGooglePlay

Digital pre-orders come with an instant download of “Got Me Runnin” and “You Got Me Twisted”

Follow the band on Spotify: to be alerted when new singles from the album are released and to add “Got Me Runnin” and “You Got Me Twisted” to your favorite playlists: http://radi.al/SteelheartSpotify

Although they were lumped in with the glut of long-haired hard rock bands emerging in the early ’90s, the band was always more forward thinking than their peers and the 2017 version of the band has a contemporary and edgy feel, while still retaining the patented powerful vocals of Miljenko. On “Through Worlds Of Stardust”, Miljenko has fused his past, present, and future together, creating an undeniable piece of hard rock music. Certainly fans of the band’s first three classic albums will be happy to hear those powerful pipes back in action, but fans of modern hard rock acts like Halestorm, Shinedown, Alter Bridge, and other melodic minded rock heavyweights will find much here to love.

Steelheart released their self-titled debut album in 1990 and based on the buzz around the hit single “I’ll Never Let You Go” was a smashing success (for example, 33,000 albums were sold in one day in Japan) and quickly reached platinum sales. Steelheart’s sophomore album, “Tangled In Reins” was released in 1992 to critical acclaim and rave reviews, but moderate success in terms of sales in the U.S. (by early ’90s standards) due to the well documented rise of grunge music; however, East Asia was a different story, where the band was widely embraced yet again. In the midst of promotion of the album, a serious accident happened on Halloween night in 1992, when an improperly secured lighting truss hit Matijevic on the back of the head, breaking his nose, cheekbone, jaw, and twisting his spine. Almost impossibly, Matijevic managed to walk off the stage of his own strength before being rushed to a hospital. “Steelheart” as it was known ended that night.

Now the band is back with a sonic tour de force befitting of their stature. Don’t be foolish and dismiss this as just another “band from the ’80s” as you will miss out on one of the most surprisingly robust and balanced hard rock albums of 2017! Highly recommended for fans of hard rock from then and NOW!

German metal band ALPHA TIGER has released a new single and video for the song “Comatose” today. The track is taken from their forthcoming studio album “Alpha Tiger”.
