WITCHES MARK have uploaded their new song “Road Razor” to Soundcloud.
Taken from the band’s forthcoming third album, “Road Razor” marks the first new studio material from WITCHES MARK since 2013’s“Witching Metal Ritual” full length.
Guitarist and founding member Robert Williams elaborates “After we finished playing out in support of the last record we got a little busy playing in some other bands. I joined IGNITOR on guitar in January of 2015 and Robb Bockman (Guitar/Vocals) recently joined the black metal band UADA on bass and has been touring with them. Both band’s have been doing really well for themselves and we’ve stayed consistently busy but wherever we’d go people kept asking us about WITCHES MARK and we’ve always known that band was something really special so we got together over the holidays and wrote all of the material for the next album. We’re gonna try and have it released by the end of the year.”

On June 1st Whitesnake embarked on a Greatest Hits Tour that will take them across much of the US before heading over to Europe for July and August. For the last 36+ years Whitesnake has remained a no-nonsense band and have one of the most charismatic frontmen; David Coverdale at the helm. Since the band’s inception, David has always surrounded himself with amazing musicians. For this tour as well as the band’s 2015 Purple Tour, he’s enlisted a tremendously talented guitarist; Joel Hoekstra. Together he and Reb Beach have an undeniable chemistry that dazzles the packed venues with their pyrotechnical style of guitar playing and acrobatics.
Joel is most notably known for his years’ with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Night Ranger not to mention he recently put out a solo CD called; Joel Hoekstra’s 13 Dying to Live, it’s a melodic hard rock CD with killer riffs and memorable melodies.
I was fortunate to catch up with Joel before Whitesnake played in New Jersey to discuss their Greatest Hits Tour as well as what the future may hold for the band. If that wasn’t enough, he gave me a personal tour of his custom made arsenal of Whitesnake touring guitars!

Accept guitarist Wolf Hoffmann has dedicated his life to heavy metal which is well documented in dozens of albums spanning four decades. But beyond heavy metal, many people might not know that he has an incessant craving for classical music! In 1997 he released his first classical CD and now almost 20 years later he is releasing his newest solo CD, Headbangers Symphony due out July 1st on Nuclear Blast Records. Eleven “metaled up” songs by classical composers like Ludwig v. Beethoven, Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to name a few.
I caught up with Wolf to talk about this monster endeavor that took almost a decade to create as well as the work that went into it.
Ronnie James Dio’s sinister howl and wicked songcraft bewitched hard rock fans in the Seventies and Eighties during his memorable stints with Elf, Rainbow and Black Sabbath. In 1983, the singer formed his own band, launching a successful solo career that led to 10 studio albums and sales of more than 10 million records around the world.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Rhino would release a new boxed set, A Decade Of Dio: 1983-1993, that brings together Dio’s first six studio albums – each one featuring newly remastered sound. It includes: Holy Diver (1983), The Last In Line (1984), Sacred Heart (1985), Dream Evil (1987), Lock Up The Wolves (1990) and Strange Highways (1993).
Pre-orders have begun for CD and vinyl versions of A Decade Of Dio: 1983-1993. Pre-order your copy now via Amazon: CD | vinyl. Both versions come housed in boxes featuring new artwork by Marc Sasso, who was responsible for many of the band’s iconic covers. The CD set will hit stores on July 22, 2016 for a list price of $34.98.
The vinyl incarnation of the set will be available on October 4, 2016 for $99.98, and comes with a bonus 7″ single. On the first side is the 1983 version of “Evil Eyes,” which was originally released as the b-side on the “Holy Diver” single. In addition, this version is different from the one featured on the 1984 album The Last In Line. The flip side features “Time To Burn,” which was the only studio track featured on the otherwise live release, Intermission (1986).
After two albums with Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio left in 1982 and formed Dio with fellow Sabbath band mate Vinny Appice on drums. The group’s platinum-selling debut Holy Diver arrived in 1983 and is now revered as a heavy metal masterpiece, including two songs that would become rock signatures: the title track and the epic “Rainbow In The Dark.”
The band returned the following year with The Last In Line (1984), which became the band’s second platinum seller and included the single “Mystery,” as well as “We Rock,” a song the band often used to close its shows. Sacred Heart (1985) achieved gold certification and introduced fans to the concert staple “Rock ‘n’ Roll Children.” Dio’s fourth studio album, Dream Evil (1987) included the singles “All The Fools Sailed Away” and “I Could Have Been A Dreamer.”
In the Nineties, the group released two more stellar studio albums. Lock Up The Wolves arrived in 1990 and featured the single “Hey Angel” and rocking title track. Following a brief reunion with Black Sabbath in 1992, Dio returned with Strange Highways in 1993. The album featured future fan favorites like “Jesus, Mary and The Holy Ghost,” “Evilution,” and the title track.
Although Ronnie James Dio lost his battle with stomach cancer in 2010, his towering voice and legacy live on. The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, co-founded by Wendy Dio, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable fund dedicated to supporting cancer-prevention research, raising awareness and educating the public about the vital importance of early detection and prevention when dealing with this deadly disease.

KAOTOXIN is proud to announce the second release by KAOSKVLT, its new sub-label dedicated to old-school Metal gems: ANATA‘s 1998 debut full-length, “The Infernal Depths of Hatred”, which will be unleashed on October 21st worldwide, for the first time ever on vinyl!
Released in 1998 through then recently launched French label Season of Mist, “The Infernal Depths of Hatred” took the unsuspecting Death Metal scene by storm combining a sped up version of the trademark melodic, catchy and uptempo Gothenburg “New Wave of Swedish Death Metal” sound (At The Gates, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity…) with faster, relentless, heavy parts influenced by the rawer, darker and heavier typical US Death Metal of that time (Morbid Angel, Suffocatio, Cannibal Corpse…).
Specially remastered for analog physical supports at the Conkrere studio (Loudblast remasters, Gorod, OTARGOS…) and coming with a bonus Morbid Angel cover version (“Day of Suffering”) taken from ANATA’s 1999 “War, vol.II” split with Bethsaida, the brand new 2016 version of the album’s collector first press will be limited to 300 hand-numbered copies and come as a yellow and black marbled 12″ vinyl LP.

Doused in the (street) waters of Los Angeles, California, gritty hard rockers BUDDERSIDE are fronted by Patrick Stone, who was with the likes of Quiet Riot, Velvet Revolver and Adler’s Appetite before realizing the ultimate dream of his own band and singing his own songs to the world. Enter Michael “The Stoneman” Stone on bass, Rich Sacco on drums and Johnny Santoro, (Still Standing, Rock Sugar) on guitar to form a rock-solid band of brothers with instantly unbreakable bonds.
BUDDERSIDE manager Todd Singerman of Singerman Entertainment (Motörhead) ensured the band went into Rosewood Strat Studio with producer Paul Inder Kilmister (son of Lemmy Kilmister). And the result is a searing-hot, self-titled debut album Budderside, which is due for release on July 29, 2016 via Motörhead Music/UDR. Pre-orders will be available soon, which will come in digipack, digital download and streaming formats.
Take a look at the video for BUDDERSIDE’s first single “Pain” now via YouTube: https://youtu.be/V48Li8Rqi9A
In the video, we see a gym janitor making eyes at a female boxer, who of course knocks him out. A daydream of unlikely grandeur ensues – chock full of scantily-clad vixens boxing one another and a full on BUDDERSIDE concert in the ring! But is this really a daydream? Watch the video to find out!
BUDDERSIDE vocalist Patrick Stone’s drive and verve come from a need to make sense of all life’s challenges – politics, sex, philosophy, rage, love, light, sound, senses – and express them all with one unifying current racing through it all – electricity, and Stone is far from encumbered by any perceived ‘limitations’ of a rock band more than he is empowered by the freedom to explore.
That seeker-spirit sees BUDDERSIDE go from the thick, thumping, leather-clad rock riffery of “The Envelope” to the ska-tinted mobility of “Ska-Bra” which also features Motörhead’s Phil Campbell on guitar. There’s the bendy, grungy intoxication of “X-Girlfriend”, the big-stage orchestral grandiosity of “Can’t Wrap My Head Around You” and the thicker, space-fuzzy buzz-riff of “Open Relationship”… which all serve to say that whatever sonic broadsword BUDDERSIDE want to swing, they swing with freedom and verve.
Infectious, gritty, contagious and altogether dangerous, BUDDERSIDE demand your fullest focus and most engaged attention. Stay tuned for more coming from BUDDERSIDE soon.
Budderside Track Listing:
Ska Bra (feat. Motörhead’s Phil Campbell)
Clear Blue Sky
Let This One Breathe
Can’t Wrap My Head Around You
Patrick Stone – vocals
Michael Stone – Bass
Johnny Santoro – guitar
Rich Sacco – drums
AIRBOURNE —unswerving, clenched-fist champions of the hard rock cause— have confirmed their new album title, Breakin’ Outta Hell, also the title of the first single/video, along with a headline tour of North America for September and October; the tour kicks off in San Diego on September 12 and concludes in Baltimore on October 14, taking in 21 shows along the way.

Airbourne will launch their latest, fourth studio album, produced by Bob Marlette (who helmed the band’s Runnin’ Wild debut in 2007) and engineered and mixed by Mike Fraser, who has previously worked with Aerosmith, Van Halen, Metallica and more, worldwide this fall via a new deal with Spinefarm Records.

Raise the Flag for Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Solidifying their position as a band to watch in 2016, rising progressive metal band ONI saw their breakout moment earlier this year with the release of their blistering new track “Eternal Recurrence”. Showcasing the band’s ability to meld chaotic progressive time signatures with blazing solos and heavy grooves (with the unique inclusion of “xylo-synth”), “Eternal Recurrence” soars as the band’s first of several planned singles cut from their upcoming full-length album, Ironshore, scheduled to hit stores this fall.
Today marks the release of the band’s new music video for “Eternal Recurrence”. Directed by Abraham Roofeh and filmed in vocalist Jake Oni’s home locale of the Cayman Islands, the video depicts a man running from a mysterious masked assailant – but is this assailant really a stranger? Watch the video now, exclusively via Metal Injection: http://www.metalinjection.net/video/oni-is-the-strange-straight-forward-progressive-metal-band-you-need
ONI frontman Jake Oni states, “It was a pleasure filming the video in the Cayman Islands. It’s very convenient working from home, although the performance was brutal at times. When the guys and myself were done filming, we couldn’t even walk the next day! After headbanging for what felt like an eternity, there was nothing better than laying on the ground!
When we first saw the treatment for the video, it was hard to imagine how it would turn out, however it exceeded all of our expectations. The sunny island felt more dystopian than anything else and our director captured the meaning of the song and the look of the band perfectly. Overall, it was a blast to work on and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!”
Formed in 2014, ONI mastermind Jake Oni’s initial vision for the band was “to be the band he never got to see”. One that was deeply rooted in progressive metal but that had a feel all of its own, one that would rise above a genre that continues to churn out new groups with a similar sound. ONI’s sound comfortably situates them among the genre’s heavy hitters, demonstrating spastic technicality and fast-paced verses like Protest The Hero and Arsis, with melodic progressive hooks echoing Between The Buried in Me. But while those artists are still positioned on one end of the metal spectrum, ONI digs even deeper with resonating groove-oriented guitars and mathematic rhythm patterns resembling artists like Lamb of God and Gojira.
The band’s upcoming new album Ironshore is packed full of contrasts and contradictions, grace and violence, and with the band disinterested in churning out endless soundalikes, each has a distinct character of its own – or more accurately characters of its own, since they refuse to limit themselves to a single mood or tone.
With Jake Oni handling vocal duties, Martin Andres and Brandon White on guitar, Chase Bryant on bass and Joe Greulich on drums, they are also perhaps the first metal band to feature a xylo-synth player, in the form of Johnny D, which adds an interesting and intriguing dynamic.
Stay tuned for much more coming from ONI in anticipation of their upcoming album release this fall.

One of the final lineup updates will leave us with only five announced bands but unfortunately starts with bad news as EYEHATEGOD had to postpone all their European appearances including Brutal Assault. They’ll be replaced by Latvian sludgy post metal TESA. Next on the lineup are the Hungarian Soulfly-style-epigones EKTOMORF and a handful of Czech bands. These however are no fillers, make sure to check them out! First double death metal combo lead by the same mastermind: BRUTALLY DECEASEDand HEAVING EARTH. The first are playing classic Swedish death with their own twist to it, they got their third album on the way and deffo are not just a plain retro but a true powerhouse of their own! The 2015 album Denouncing the Holy Throne by HEAVING EARTH was one of the best death metal records of the last year, especially if you are into blasphemous but yet thoughtful part of the DM spectre. Another great addition to the line-up are Prague’s own experimentators DEMIMONDE who are returing after a 15 year hiatus. The single “The Event Horizon” from their upcoming album was released earlier today and is heralding yet another piece of avantagarde metal science fiction. PERFECITIZEN will unleash a whirlwind of their unique death grind mix which they call blastcore. Three MetalGate records bands to finish this update, electronic metal crossover LIVEEVIL, technical death metal KEEP ON ROTTING and thrashing death ANTIGOD!
New BUDGIE book “Time To Remember”
A new book on influential Welsh rockers BUDGIE covers the period from 1980, when new guitarist John Thomas would prove to be just the tonic needed to launch the band into the ’80s.
Thomas, who passed away in March this year, recorded three albums with BUDGIE in the early 1980s – “Power Supply”, “Nightflight” and “Deliver Us From Evil”. The book, “Time To Remember: Budgie’s Heavy Revolution 1980–2010”, covers these three albums and three Reading Festival appearances, culminating in a headline show in ’82.
BUDGIE would also venture behind the Iron Curtain, visiting Poland in ’82 for a triumphant tour of sold-out stadiums, two years before IRON MAIDEN’s much-heralded visit. Forty of photographer Justin Thomas’s previously unseen photos of BUDGIE’s Polish tour are included in the book, which includes more than 750 images across 430 pages.
BUDGIE took a break in 1988, but returned in style to play before a huge San Antonio audience in 1995 – the music kept alive by Texas radio and METALLICA’s covers of “Breadfan” and “Crash Course In Brain Surgery”.
BUDGIE remained active during the 1990s and 2000s, touring in the UK, Europe, the States and Australia, and releasing another studio album. The band last played live in 2010, when bandleader Burke Shelley would undergo emergency surgery for an aortic aneurysm.
The book features contributions from band members, roadies, promoters and photographers, including extensive interviews with John Thomas in the months leading up to his untimely passing.
The new book, the third in a trilogy of books about BUDGIE, can be ordered online here:

Celebrating 35 years as a band, 2016 is proving to be a very good time for thrash/metal icons Anthrax, and the festivities are intensifying. First, today Anthrax is releasing the third lyric video from their new album For All Kings, this one for the track “Zero Tolerance.” The song closes the album and its message is very personal and particularly timely in today’s society, with the horrific rise in mass shootings and other forms of terrorism. In the words of Anthrax lyricist Scott Ian, “‘Zero Tolerance’ sums it all up. It’s about doing anything to protect your small circle of family and friends from the insanity of the world.” Check out the lyric video for “Zero Tolerance” here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1_HKsoql1Y
The truth of humanity is far from insane
It’s focused, it’s cruel, it’s hearbreak and pain
As if I needed more reasons to hate
A savage decision that’s not hard to make
Family and friends, dare to threaten what’s mine
I kill motherfuckers for crossing the line
Tighten the noose round my life and I choose
Murder and mayhem ’cause I’m worse than you
Clockwise from left: Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, Jon Donais, Frank Bello, Joey Belladonna
Anthrax’s 35th anniversary year will also see the band spending the bulk of June, July and August playing major music festivals throughout Europe. These will include France’s Hellfest and Download, SwedenRock, Graspop in Belgium, and the UK’s Bloodstock, as well as playing select dates with Slayer, Iron Maiden, and a handful of headline shows.
Then, the 35th anniversary will culminate beginning September 9 in Cleveland when Anthrax will join forces with Big Four comrades Slayer for a seven-week North American tour of major and secondary markets. This trek will also include appearances at several major North American music festivals including Ozzfest Meets Knotfest on September 25 in San Bernardino, CA.
“I find it hard to believe that all this time has gone by,” said Anthrax’s Charlie Benante. “I still feel like I did when we were first recording our Spreading the Disease album. For All Kings has been so well received, it really does make us want to take this to another level. I think it’s all so encouraging that, after all these years, here we are hanging out with out metal alumni Slayer. The two bands have never been better at what we do, that’s encouraging for the future of music.”
Added Scott Ian, “July 18, 1981 is the day I started playing rhythm guitar in Anthrax. Thirty-five years have passed since that day and my life has changed profoundly. I am a husband, I am a father. I am a long way from the 17-year-old soon to be college dropout that co-founded a heavy metal band. The only thing that hasn’t changed in 35 years, the one constant, I am still the rhythm guitar player in Anthrax. It’s what I GET to do. I GET to play in a band and I never take that for granted. It is a privilege. And the reason I GET to be in Anthrax is because for 35 years, people all over this planet have connected with what we do. There wouldn’t be an Anthrax if it wasn’t for the fans that heard something in our sound that made them want to bang their heads all those years ago. Together over these 35 years, we became part of something that changed the history of music and I am deeply proud of that. So to quote the Scottish poet Robbie Burns, “Here’s to us; who is as good as us? Damn few, and they’re all dead.” Thank you my friends…35 and counting.”
For the September/October dates with Slayer, Anthrax is making available a limited number of “VIP Kings Ensemble Packages.” In addition to the band’s new For All Kings CD, access to the band’s Meet’n’Greet, a personal photo with the band, early entry into the venue, and much more, these special packages will include the buyer’s choice of a Scott Ian Signature Guitar, Charlie Benante Signature Series Snare, or a Frank Bello Signature Series LTD Bass Guitar. Only 10 of these Ensemble Packages will be available. For more info on all of the Anthrax VIP Packages, go to http://anthrax.com/vip-info/
