by Metal-Rules.com UK Team

This November is the 7th year of Leeds premier metal event, Damnation Festival held as always at Leeds University and is set to be one of their finest lineup’s since the Cannibal Corpse/ Bolt Thrower year (2014).

With an exclusive set from the reformed emotional Doom band Warning who are playing their tear jerker album Watching from a Distance, in full. Along with Arkansas’s, Pallbearer, it’s set for an emotion heavy evening. Also London metal fans will be there in force this year and will for the first time out number fans from Leeds as they ignore the distance and brave the northern cold.

The mixture of Doom, Prog and Death Metal is a really big draw with fans coming from New Zealand, Japan, America and mainland Europe to see awesome bands like Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Nails for a bit of Grind, some Brutal Tech Death in Dying Fetus, Psycroptic and Beyond Creation as well as sets from Disenbomb and Old School Death Metal band Vallenfyre.

Nick Holmes doubles up and treats the crowd to a Paradise Lost set and a headline performance from Death Metal supergroup Bloodbath. Lets not forget Sodom – one of Thrash Metal’s longest serving and best bands from Germany.

We also have a UK exclusive from occult stoner band, Psychedelic Witchcraft and a much anticipated performance from Mutation lead by Ginger from the Wildhearts. With all that aggression and emotion you may want to change rooms and tone it down a little as I’m sure the mosh pits are going to be pretty heavy this year. You can catch more Prog Rock bands like Nordic Giants, Agent Fresco or Leprous. For those black of heart you have Scandinavian beauty Myrkur to entrance you with her controversial mix of folk pop and black metal, love her or hate her her live performances are not to be missed. Also you can be transported into a level of Hades with a full on set from Dragged into Sunlight and Wiedgedood for some straight up thrashy Black Metal.

This year really has something for everyone and the organisers have broken their own record having sold out with a month left to go before the event. Bring it on!
