Holmens Rock is a new one day festival located at Frihamnspiren in downtown Gothenburg. The name Holmens Rock is taken from the main sponsor, Holmens Herrekipering, which is a store that sells male clothes. Bands that performed during the day were Electric Boys, Sator, Crucified Barbara, and the headline act D.A.D. amongst others. Besides D.A.D., it only Swedish acts that performed. The festival ended at 1am. The festival opened at 2 and the first act was scheduled at 17. In the restaurant tent there was expensive food served by Magnus Gunnarssons kitchen but you could buy a burger in the area as well.
The first act got a playing time of 30 minutes and the rest got 40-45 minutes and the headline act got 75 minutes. The festival was sponsored by Mornington Hotel, the Hi-Fi club, Magnus & Magnus, and of course Holmens Mens Wear. At the same time that Holmens Rock took place there was another three day festival in Sweden called Skogsrojet. Hopefully the festivals didn’t clash too much when it came to visitors.
