Kreator are known within the thrash metal community as something of legends, with their fast electric musical panache and flair for ferocious lyrics. They have become a corner stone of influence across the European scene as well as further afield. Tonight the German masters are accompanied by speedballs SSS, re-formed veterans, Xentrix and the up and rising metal troupe Evile.
SSS [3.5/5] are also known as “Short Sharp Shock” kick started the evening to a crowd ready to head bang!
SSS broke the crowd’s statue like appearance, with their blend of Boston hardcore and classic thrash influence crossover.
The Liverpool four piece have become something of under the radar hero’s, with their back catalogue of intense riffs and crushing vocals!
The band tonight treated the audience to a best of from the catalogue, mainly featuring tracks from newest release “problems to the answer”.
Wasting no time, Xentrix [3.5/5] arrived on stage with applause and high expectations!
Vocalist, Chris Astley announced that its “Time to go back to 89 motherfuckers”; which set the mood perfectly as the British thrash Legends returned to the stage after seven years!
The excitement for this band was undeniable as members of the crowd pushed forward and started the first pit of the evening.
The bands style of technical riffs and tempo changes found the audience in great thralls of fist punching the air and deafening applause after every metallic cut from the band.
From the band’s performance tonight you can tell they enjoyed being back where they belong, on the live circuit!
Evile [4/5] burst onto the staged and opened with the majestic “infected nation”!
This got the crowd in the mood for moshing, as the band delivered tracks that sent the crowd in frenzy as quick paced adrenaline shots from the bands bombastic set rang over the airwaves.
Tonight consisted of popular tracks such as “Cult” and self titled album track “Five serpents teeth” from 2011’s “five serpents’ teeth” as well as new tracks from upcoming album “Skull”.
“Head Of The Demon” and “underworld” soon followed, which were both unexpected, but went down a storm with the thrash hungry crowd.
Evile concluded their adrenaline show with “In Dreams of Terror” but as their set came to a close, the crowd where sad to see them go!

It wasn’t long until the anticipation for Kreator’s [4/5] grew within the crowd.
“Phantom Antichrist” opens up thier set, as the tunes into music filled the air, from the newest metal cut of the same name, pushed the crowd forward in a pulsation of excitement as the members attacked the stage.
Setting the president of speed the band was met with a room, filled with screams and bellowing roars of approval after delivering fresh tracks such as; “Death To The world”, “From Floor Into Fire” and “United In Hate”, which began the tornado of circle pits fit to tear apart the forum. Quickly followed by classic Kreator tracks “Enemy of God” and “phobia”
After closing the set abruptly with “Pleasure to Kill” the crowd seemed disappointed about the departure from the band.
They are full of surprises as they returned to the stage with pyro-techniques and screams, as they opened up the encore with “Violent Revolution “from 2001’s album of the same name, spurred on a sing a long within the crowd of loyal fans.
Frontman Mille Petrozza closed the set with the Kreator Flag in hand with “Flag of Hate”.
From the Bombastic vocal lines to speedball drumming, this evening has been a treat of thrash splendour, with something for every thrash fan from the hardcore crossovers, up to the melodic styles!
It’s been a dynamic and fantastic line-up and a lesson in thrash mastery.
