Kobra And The Lotus will be main support to Buckcherry on the latter’s UK tour in November / December 2012.

Says front-woman Kobra Page: “Hitting the road with Buckcherry is sure to be a great ride. The UK has always been important to Kobra And The Lotus, we have a sense of loyalty to our fans over there; they have been involved right from the very beginning! The UK is our second home.”

Prior to this, KATL – whose current self-titled album is available via Simmons Records / Spinefarm Records – have played European shows with the likes of Judas Priest & Steel Panther, and appeared at major festivals such as Download, Bloodstock & Wacken.

In support of the tour, KATL have released a new single, ‘50 Shades Of Evil’, the follow-up to ‘Forever One’, accompanied by a video directed by Lisa Mann, whose previous credits include Apocalyptica, The Used & Cascada.

The ‘50 Shades Of Evil’ clip sees Kobra surviving a full-tilt assault on the senses, while her band members run through the track like men (literally) possessed!

When asked what it was like to join forces with Lisa Mann, Kobra commented: Throughout the whole experience, she never ceased to amaze us. Lisa’s creative flow is not only boundless, it is dynamic and organic. Her consistent level of enthusiasm charged the whole team.”

Canadian native Lisa Mann was keen to work with her fellow countrymen (based in the Calgary area) after hearing ‘50 Shades Of Evil’ and feeling she could channel the primal aggression of the track in ways that side-stepped the more traditional touchstones of the genre…

“This band is super creative and up for anything. I like that in a group. I met them before the shoot and briefed them on some of my insane ideas…like suspending Kobra by strapping her to a railing 15ft in the air, and they were totally trusting. I think one of my favourite parts of the shoot day was when we had Kobra on the bed. We had the bed rocking violently with Kobra on it as we blew her hair wildly. It was a tough scene for any artist to perform in, but Kobra went for it and totally nailed it” – Lisa Mann.

50 Shades Of Evil’ comes complete with a bonus track – an acoustic cover of the Dio classic, ‘Rainbow In The Dark’; KATL performed this song live during an acoustic session at Bloodstock 2012.

To round off the year, KATL will play the Hard Rock Hell Festival, held at Hafan Y Mor holiday park, North Wales, on the 29th November – 3rd December.

“These are my roots. This is my family. This is where it all started for Kobra And The Lotus in the UK! I can’t wait to go back so I can say ‘Welcome back to Hell everyone! We’ve missed you!! Let’s fuckin’ ROCK!!!’” – Kobra Paige.
