Eagle Rock Entertainment, in association with Banger Films, are proud to announce the world premiere of Super Duper Alice Cooper at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by AT&T, where it will screen as part of their Spotlight section. Taking us through his life and career, ALICE presents his story in the first ever “doc opera” film – a dizzying blend of documentary archive footage, animation, and rock opera.
Super Duper Alice Cooper is the twisted tale of a teenage Dr. Jekyll whose rock n’ roll Mr. Hyde almost kills him. It is the story of Vincent Furnier, a preacher’s son who struck fear into the hearts of parents as ALICE COOPER, the ultimate rock star of the bizarre. From the advent of Alice as front man for a group of Phoenix freaks in the 60’s to the hazy decadence of celebrity in the 70s to his triumphant comeback as 80s glam metal godfather, we will watch as Alice and Vincent battle for each other’s’ souls. Alice’s story is told not only by the man himself, but through exclusive interviews with members of the original Alice Cooper band, Elton John, Iggy Pop, John Lydon, and Dee Snider.
Super Duper Alice Cooper is the creation of Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn at Banger Films, producers of Iron Maiden: Flight 666 (2009 SXSW Audience Choice Winner) and Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage (2010 Grammy-nominated and Tribeca Audience Choice Winner), and much-lauded filmmaker Reginald Harkema, winner of the TIFF Special Jury Prize for his film Monkey Warfare.
The 13th edition of the Tribeca Film Festival will take place from April 16 to April 27 at locations around New York City.

Alice Cooper needs no introduction. Still touring the world, with over 100 concerts scheduled in 2014, and hosting his internationally syndicated “Nights With Alice Cooper” radio show five nights a week for over a decade, Alice shows no sign of slowing down.

Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan and Richie Kotzen of The Winery Dogs have announced Dog Camp, their first annual immersive program for aspiring musicians of all ages and levels, set for July 21-25, 2014 at Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY.
Produced by Dreamcatcher Events (www.dreamcatcher-events.com), this special vacation experience offers the opportunity to get up close and personal with the three legends as campers attend instrument-specific clinics, learn songwriting mechanics, and enjoy very special intimate performances and jam sessions from The Winery Dogs and special guests. Look for the daily itinerary for Dog Camp to be announced in the coming weeks and check out a video from Mike Portnoy talking about Dog Camp here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlAaHTcsuLQ.
Tickets for Dog Camp are on sale now at www.winerydogcamp.com. Attendees will have access to all workshops, seminars, gourmet meals, performances, jam sessions, and camp activities.
“We’ve all done clinics over the years, but it’s always been something that’s primarily centered around one instrument that each of us has typically done on an individual basis,” says drummer Portnoy. “Dog Camp is the first time that any of us have hosted or participated in a true ‘Band Camp.’ As a result of that, we’ve got some incredible surprises in store for everybody attending.”
“We’ll be living together, hanging together, and jamming together,” Portnoy continues. “We want you to ask as many questions as possible, and we’re going to engage you on a one-on-one basis to help you realize your goals as a player.”
“What’s interesting is to talk about music, concepts, objectives, reasons why you’re playing the instrument, what you want to achieve, and how to get to that point, rather than talking about major versus minor scales,” says lead vocalist/guitarist Kotzen. “I love that feeling of sharing concepts with people. In The Winery Dogs, we all have various experiences that a lot of other people don’t have. It’s an opportunity to share that and grow; the feeling of moving forward and learning and experiencing something new. That’s what excites me about Dog Camp. It’s the creative process and creativity that make me want to do music, and I want to share that.”
“I want to emphasize that players should keep an eye on what we’re doing and why during the performances,” adds bassist Sheehan. “In between songs or mid-song, I want to stop to make a point about what’s going on and why. The expertise of being able to play ensemble is a bit of a lost art with kids today. They don’t do what we did when we were growing up. Right away, we just got in a band whether we could play or not. Now, kids want to get up to a level of expertise and then join a band.”
“[During the seminars] I like to have back-and-forth communication,” Sheehan continues. “I want to speak with people and hear their opinions, disagreements, and challenges. I believe anyone who attends will see a jumpstart in their quest to achieve their dreams.”
Dog Camp offers a variety of pricing options, based on the variety of available accommodations. All activities will be held at Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY, which features an eclectic array of comfortable, rustic country-inn accommodations as well as primitive tent camping. All accommodations are just steps away from daily camp activities. Guests can enjoy the spring-fed swimming pool, on-site access to the Esopus Creek, and explore the splendors of the Catskills on the nearby network of hiking trails. Dedicated to the celebration of nature, music and the arts, this one hundred-acre wonderland of mountains, fields, and streams is a world of its own.

Sadly, Dio lost his battle with stomach cancer in 2010, but his towering voice and legacy live on.
To celebrate Dio’s life, an all-star group of his friends and fans recorded 13 of their favorite tracks for a tribute album, entitled This Is Your Life, to raise funds for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund (www.diocancerfund.org). This non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable fund, which is dedicated to supporting cancer-prevention research, raising awareness and educating the public about the vital importance of early detection and prevention, was co-founded by Dio’s longtime manager and wife, Wendy Dio. 100% of the monies received from this album by the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund goes directly into cancer research.
Produced by Wendy Dio, This Is Your Life includes contributions by such metal heavyweights as Metallica, Scorpions, Anthrax, Glenn Hughes and Rob Halford, as well as appearances by many of the musicians who performed with Dio over the years. After forming Black Sabbath in 1969, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Terry “Geezer” Butler, and Bill Ward went on to record one of the most influential canons of music in the history of rock and roll.
Warner Bros./Rhino brings together the original quartet’s groundbreaking eight-album run for BLACK SABBATH: THE COMPLETE STUDIO ALBUMS (1970-1978). The hard-hitting, eight-disc boxed set will be available on April 15.
Presented in a clamshell box, the set contains all of the studio albums Black Sabbath recorded for Warner Bros. Records during the 1970’s, including its iconic, eponymous debut (1970), the multi-platinum landmark Paranoid (1970), the platinum albums Master Of Reality (1971), Vol. 4 (1972), and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973), as well as the gold albums Sabotage (1975), Technical Ecstasy (1976), and Never Say Die! (1978).
The past few months have been busy ones for Black Sabbath. Following hugely successful shows in North and South America, Australia, Asia and Europe, the band won its second Grammy® Award when the song “God Is Dead?” picked up the trophy for Best Metal Performance.
The group will kick off another North American tour on March 31 with a show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. In the weeks that follow, the trek will hit ten cities in Canada, including stops in Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton, before it wraps on April 26 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA. These dates are part of the band’s final shows of its 2013-14 world tour in support of its first studio album in 35 years, 13. A resounding success, the album entered the charts at #1 in 13 countries (including their first #1 in the U.S.). Another run of European festivals and headlining shows will follow this summer.
First formed in Birmingham, England, Black Sabbath’s doom-laden sound pioneered a new kind of heavy rock music, a sound that would later influence hundreds of other bands. Many consider Black Sabbath to be the godfathers of heavy metal, but Sabbath was capable of surprising its fans with songs that showed other facets of their skills besides darkness and monstrous decibels. Decades after their initial impact, guitarists are still stunned by Tony Iommi’s jaw-dropping riffs, Geezer Butler’s swooping bass lines, and Bill Ward’s thunderous drums. And, of course, in Ozzy Osbourne the band has one of the most magnetic and unpredictable front men ever in rock, with a maniacal voice like few others before or since.
BLACK SABBATH: THE COMPLETE ALBUMS 1970-1978
Black Sabbath (1970)
Master Of Reality (1971)
Vol. 4 (1972)
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973)
Technical Ecstasy (1976)
Never Say Die! (1978)
Recorded at London’s Berry Street Studio, the self-produced mini-album’s five songs concentrate on Britain’s rich history of supernatural and occult-based tales of murderous hauntings, possession, witchcraft & insanity.
Calling on influences such as Fields of the Nephilim, David Sylvian & Einstürzende Neubauten, it also marks the group’s concerted effort to explore different approaches to songwriting, as frontman Hal Sinden explains:
“Though rooted in extreme metal, TALANAS has always been about creating specific atmospheres regardless of the genre of the result. In this instance, we wanted to make sure we could still invoke the same esotericism without having to rely on volume and distortion, especially since James sodding Blunt has come back out of retirement, whilst getting a chance to work with some truly great guest musicians.”
Metal Tank Records re-released the long-time sold out album from one of the major Slovenian thrash metal acts; PANIKK, entitled UNBEARABLE CONDITIONS. The second edition features alternative packaging and advanced track-listing.
Mastermind “Gapa Flere” comments: Expect nothing but sick untamed bay area thrash metal in the vein of VIO-LENCE, EVILDEAD, SEPULTURA, DEMOLITION HAMMER, FORCED ENTRY and ACID REIGN. Be prepared to head-bang on some killer tunes devoted to the true old school fanaticism! Read more at www.metaltankrecords.com/panikk.
First thing to mention about this show is that it took place on Ragnarok. What better way to spend the end of the world (according to the Vikings) than with sophisticated Nordic metal? Both Swedish band Dark Tranquillity and Finnish band Omnium Gatherum blend the melancholic with the uplifting, creating thought-provoking, mood-inducing metal that complement each other quite well. It was definitely a fitting duo for a line-up. I could both see and feel the effect the bands had on the audience members – it was beautiful.
The 10th anniversary MusiCares MAP Fund® benefit concert will honor Black Sabbath’s GRAMMY®-winning singer/songwriter Ozzy Osbourne, and owner/CEO of the Village studios Jeff Greenberg. Taking place at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on May 12, Osbourne will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund. He is being recognized for his commitment to helping other addicts with the addiction recovery process. Greenberg will be the recipient of MusiCares®’ From the Heart Award for his unconditional friendship and dedication to the mission and goals of the organization. All proceeds will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.
Continuing to celebrate the memory of DJ AM, the evening’s DJ will be Mix Master Mike. There will also be a performance by Osbourne and his touring band with special guest Slash on guitar. Additional performers will be announced shortly.
“Ten years ago MusiCares merged with the Musicians’ Assistance Program, originally founded by Buddy Arnold, to create the MusiCares MAP Fund,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy® and MusiCares. “Since then our addiction recovery resources and programs have grown substantially, and this annual benefit provides a meaningful way to recognize artists and industry professionals who are on the front lines in the battle to fight this crippling disease. It’s an honor to celebrate Ozzy and Jeff in our 10th anniversary year, and we know it will be an extraordinary evening filled with heartfelt words and serious rock and roll.”
“I know firsthand about the ravages of addiction and I also know that the MusiCares MAP Fund is a vital safety net for people in the music industry who need help with substance abuse,” said Osbourne. “This organization literally saves lives.”
“I’ve been lucky to spend my life in the music business doing things that I love,” said Greenberg. “But I’ve also seen the serious and, all too often, fatal effects of addiction in our industry, so that’s why I am an ardent supporter of the MusiCares MAP Fund.”
This special dinner and concert offers Living Room Sets that seat 10 for $12,500, Individual Floor Seats for $1,250 per person, and VIP Balcony Seats for $100 per person. Contact Wynnie Wynn for ticket information at 310.392.3777 or firstname.lastname@example.org. General Admission Balcony Seats for $50 per person are available only through AXS beginning at 10 a.m. PT on March 7 at www.axs.com. Out of respect for the clients the MusiCares MAP Fund serves, the event will be alcohol-free.
Osbourne is a multi-platinum Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter. His career has spanned more than four decades as both a solo artist and as the lead singer of metal icons Black Sabbath, and his music is as relevant today as ever. Since 2011, Osbourne’s focus has been with Black Sabbath. In June 2013 Black Sabbath returned with their critically acclaimed album 13, which debuted at No. 1 in 13 countries. Produced by eight-time GRAMMY-winning producer Rick Rubin, 13 was the first studio album to feature original Black Sabbath members Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Osbourne in 35 years. Earlier this year, the group won a GRAMMY Award for Best Metal Performance for the album’s lead single “God Is Dead?”
Beyond his music career, Osbourne is a best-selling author (I Am Ozzy, 2010; Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy: Advice From Rock’s Ultimate Survivor, 2011), advice columnist (The Sunday Times, The London Times and Rolling Stone) and among the first to have a celebrity reality television program (“The Osbournes,” which won a 2002 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Non-Fiction Program (Reality) ). That same year, Osbourne was honored by the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a star on Hollywood Boulevard.
Owner and CEO of the Village studios in West Los Angeles, Greenberg is a native Angeleno with music in his blood. At age 19 Greenberg was already managing his first rock band. He went on to produce some of the very first skateboarding events and 1978’s Cal Jam II (one of the biggest one day festivals in history). He also managed the band the Section and Felix Pappalardi, the producer of Cream and the leader of Mountain. Greenberg then booked and promoted concerts for Nederlander venues such as the Greek Theatre. Later he became a talent agent for ICM where, with the legendary Tom Ross, he represented artists such as Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Heart, the Kinks, Barry Manilow, Linda Ronstadt, Santana, and James Taylor, among many others.
The Village has produced many of the most important albums of the past half-century, including those by the Band, Eric Clapton, Coldplay, Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, Elton John, Janet Jackson, Heart, Lady Gaga, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink Floyd, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, Supertramp, Talking Heads, Usher, and many of T Bone Burnett’s albums and affiliated soundtracks. Soundtracks recorded at the Village include The Bodyguard, Cars, Crazy Heart, The Hunger Games, Inside Llewyn Davis, The Lion King, Moulin Rouge, Saving Mr. Banks, The Shawshank Redemption, There’s Something About Mary, South Park: The Movie, Toy Story, and Walk The Line, among others. The complex, located in a 1922 Masonic Temple, hosts many events for artists and organizations such as The Recording Academy. Greenberg is past president and current director of the Society of Professional Audio Recording Services, a Producers & Engineers Wing Advisory Board member, and Governor and current Secretary of The Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter. Greenberg was also one of the original board members of the Musicians’ Assistance Program.
The MusiCares Foundation offers programs and services to members of the music community including emergency financial assistance for basic living expenses such as rent, utilities and car payments; medical expenses including doctor, dentist and hospital bills; psychotherapy; and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, hepatitis C, and other critical illnesses. MusiCares offers nationwide educational workshops covering a variety of subjects, including financial, legal, medical, and substance abuse issues, and programs in collaboration with healthcare professionals that provide services such as flu shots, hearing tests, and medical/dental screenings. 2ND ANNUAL ROCK AGAINST MS returns to the Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood with yet another amazing All-Star line up. The 2nd Annual has the Rock Stars returning in support of long time friend and publicist, Nancy B. Sayle. This rock-fueled concert is to help raise awareness and funding for Sayle and her new foundation benefiting those living with MS.
Guitar Player Magazine is in the house to present Lita Ford their top award – Inspired by Chet Atkins’ phrase “Certified Guitar Player”—and typically bestowed at NAMM during Muriel Anderson’s All-Star Guitar Night—this award debuted in 2003 with Les Paul as the first recipient. Since then, GP has honored Duane Eddy, Nokie Edwards, Dick Dale, Larry Carlton, Tommy Emmanuel, Mike Stern, Lee Ritenour, Robben Ford, Joe Perry, and others. “Lita Ford slugged it out with the boys club in an era where female musicians who liked to rock hard had very few heroes,” says GUITAR PLAYER Editor in Chief Michael Molenda. “But Lita was there, and man, did she cut a heroic figure. She was tough. She was smart. She could write a good song. And she could shred. Stinging bends. Fierce vibrato. A great sense of melody and phrasing. Since the Runaways in the late 1970s, and throughout her solo career, Lita has been a beacon of cool, and an inspiration for girls AND boys who want to express themselves through the guitar. She is the definition of a Certified Legend.”
In its finishing stages, the ROCK AGAINST MS FOUNDATION will provide services from a three (3) grant resource system, which will provide daily care, quality of life needs and emergency funding, while assisting people with multiple sclerosis (MS) to live independent and full lives. Additionally, a brick and mortar facility we will call THE ROCK HOUSE is in the planning stages, and will provide free of charge, multiple programs and opportunities designed to heal the mind, body and spirit of all those whose lives have been affected by MS.

About Multiple Sclerosis
Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. MS interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body and stops people from moving. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The advancement, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with more than twice as many women as men being diagnosed with the disease.
MS affects more than 400,000 people in the U.S. and 2.1 million worldwide.
Armoury Records will release a 3CD set of Twisted Sister’s You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll + Come Out And Play + Love Is For Suckers as part of the Armoury Classics series. This is the first time these albums will be available in a single set. [MSRP 24.98]
All three of these original Atlantic studio albums encapsulate the history of Twisted Sister’s 1980s zenith. You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll, released in 1983, features early hits “I Am (I’m Me),” “The Kids Are Back,” and “Like A Knife In The Back.” 1985’s Come Out And Play followed the wild success of Stay Hungry, the album that launched Twisted Sister into worldwide fame. It includes the star-studded “Be Chrool To Your Scuel,” which features assists from Alice Cooper, Billy Joel, and Brian Setzer. 1987’s Love Is For Suckers was the band’s final studio album, as lead vocalist Dee Snider left the band shortly after its release, rendering the band separated for 15 years.
The first two albums feature the classic line-up of Dee Snider (vocals), Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda (guitars), Mark Mendoza (bass), and A.J. Pero (drums). Love Is For Suckers features Joe Franco on drums.
Whether a lifelong Twisted Sister devotee, or a new fan sparked by the band’s recent resurgence and beloved A Twisted Christmas holiday show, this 3CD set should please heavy metal fans across the board.
