Starting immediately, Spread the Metal Records will be donating $1 for every new ‘Like’ on the label’s Facebook page to Kiva. As well, for everyone that shares any status from Spread the Metal Records about the promotion, an additional $1 will be donated.

Label owner Matt Day said “In trying to buy your love, we also want to support entrepreneurs around the world and help them rise above the poverty line. I believe in helping people help themselves, and a micro-loan to a small business through Kiva is a great way to do this I think.”

Kiva is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions operating in 66 countries. They have a 98.97% repayment rate and have given out almost $370,000,000 in loans.

This promotion will be ongoing, and will stop only when the world’s hungry are fed.
