DOKKEN mainman Don Dokken called into Eddie Trunk’s Sirius/XM show, Eddie Trunk Live, on October 1st and told him that the band’s latest album, Broken Bones, would be their last.
Don explained that he wants to move on, spread his musical wings and do something different. He told Eddie that he would like to do a very “heavy” metal album, something the singer described as being a “cross between TOOL and SLAYER.” He also added that although this may be Dokken’s last effort, drummer Mick Brown is no longer in the band and been replaced by Jimmy DeGrasso (MEGADETH, OZZY OSBOURNE, Y&T).
Dokken also revealed that he’s working with guitar legend MICHAEL SCHENKER, writing lyrics for his instrumental works, Thank You I, II & III.
Dokken’s 11th Broken Bones is out now in two configurations: standard CD and limited edition CD in digipak with a bonus DVD, which features a comprehensive Making Of The Album documentary.
Dokken recently premiered their new video, for the single ‘Empire’, which was directed by Devin DeHaven (WHITESNAKE, P.O.D.) and features a post-apocalyptic take on the band’s signature sound of catchy melodies, hot riffs and monster production.
