Annihilator is a Canadian thrash metal band that was formed in 1984 by guitarist/vocalist Jeff Waters. The band has sold over two million albums worldwide. Their debut album, ALICE IN HELL, is considered to be one of true classics of the thrash metal genre and Waters’ “extraordinary guitar playing skills” are widely recognized. Since formation, Annihilator has released thirteen studio albums and gone through many line-up changes. The band now consists of two official members, with Waters and rhythm guitarist/vocalist Dave Padden, who joined band ranks in 2003. The line-up is now completed with touring bassist Alberto Campuzano and drummer Mike Harshaw who also performed on the band’s latest album FEAST. Annihilator has enjoyed a strong upswing in Europe during the last few years. FEAST is their best-selling album since the late 80’s glory days and Annihilator concerts have been mainly sold out. Tonight’s show in Helsinki made no exception when over 600 metalheads find their way to witness Canadian’s finest performing in Club Nosturi. Welcome to the show!
Today, Australian black metal stronghold SEANCE RECORDS announces January 20th, 2014 as the international release date for GRAVEBORNE’s Through the Window of the Night. The Finnish horde’s second album, Through the Window of the Night displays GRAVEBORNE as a black metal Leviathan rising from the darkness to reduce divinity to ashes and unleash pure evil in the form of nine deadly psalms to Satan: ferocious and uncompromising black metal in pure ’90s style that will shake the heavenly spheres, joining destructive melody with unrelenting heaviness. Beware this ungodly wrath in the vein of early Immortal, Marduk, Dark Funeral, and Dawn, which features a collaboration with K-2T4-S of ..And Oceans. Read the rest of this entry »

Camden. Underworld. Sold out. All very good words and very good reasons to get excited about tonight’s show. There was a queue from early on which is not surprising, especially given the size of the venue and the locality of the stage, it can be a bit of a bottle neck trying to get some floor space. Being sold out you knew it was going to be absolutely rammed which I can tell you, it certainly was.
