First of all we have to congratulate the festival for celebrating 25 years this year! The festival is located a few kilometers outside Malmoe and it takes about 20 minutes to get there by bus. There’s no camping allowed and the festival’s main focus are people from Svedala and from the nearby cities and towns. This year the festival cooperated with an organization called Young Cancer and it’s an organization that works with young people that in some way are affected by cancer – a great cause! Young Cancer had a tent at the area where you could talk to members of the organization as well as purchase bags, hats and various things to support the cause. Some of the acts that was booked to the festival included Thin Lizzy, Bonafide and W.A.S.P. However W.A.S.P. canceled their performance and was replaced by Hammerfall.

The other well known Swedish act that played was Timbuktu & Damn (hip-hop), E-Type (eurodisco) and Amanda Jensen (pop-rock). The festivals motto is that the festival should appeal to all ages and all musical tastes and that is something the festival sure manage to do every year. When WASP announced their cancellation, the festival urged visitors to e-mail and wish for what band they would like to see instead of WASP and 9 days later Hammerfall was revealed as the new replacement act. Hammerfall was also the most wished for band to the festival so the organizers did a really good job in bringing Hammerfall to Svedala.

As usual had the festival three stages called M, L and XL and the area looked a bit different from past years. The stages was placed quite far apart from each other which made the festival are feel more spacious which was a great thing. There were two beer tents where you could buy beer and food and there were stands for the kids to buy popcorn and candy.
