New York death metal veterans SUFFOCATION are among the inductees for this year’s class of the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame. TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider will receive the Harry Chapin Award at the event, which will be held on October 18 at The Paramount in Huntington, New York. Snider will also perform selections from his “Dee Does Broadway” album.

Long Island Music Hall Of Fame will also honor 2011 Music Educator Of The Year, Robert W. Kreuger.

Inductees are selected by the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame Board Of Directors from an evolving and growing list of people, artists, and entities that were born, raised, founded, or have resided on geographic Long Island (Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk) for a significant portion of their career. Induction is based on historical importance and the significance of their contribution to Long Island’s rich musical heritage.

Blood Oath, the follow-up to 2006’s self-titled record, was recorded by Joe Cincotta (who worked on the band’s last two releases) and mixed by Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH). Cover artwork was once again brought to life by Jon Zig (DEEDS OF FLESH, DISGORGE, GORGASM). The album was released on July 14, 2009.
