The occult rock band is taking possession of the Old Blue Last pub tonight! The Texan musicians have been touring in Norway, Denmark, Germany and a few dates in the UK already!
The band is fronted by Nathan Opposition, Justin “Ribs” Mason on
acoustic guitar, Nathan’s brother Michael on electric guitar, and TA on bass.
In 2010, they recorded and released a split 12” EP entitled “Inner Earth Inferno” (Withdrawal Records), which garnished praise from critics and cultists alike.
Red lights are on as the five piece band take to the stage.
The set list tonight includes the tracks from their debut album "A Godlike Inferno", with my favourites being “The Opposition”,”Necessary Evil” and “Lost Civilisation”. I highly recommend you to get it!
If you are looking for a new musical approach of the evil and occult then it is most likely you will appreciate their album.
The use of acoustic guitars gives the music an organic sound, in union with the occult and satanic lyrics of each songs.
The chorus on “The Opposition,” “Hail to thee, Lord Lucifer/I sing praises to thee/and I suffer no longer,” speaks for itself.
Their aggressiveness is as much in the instruments as it is in the darkness which resides in the evil lyrics and the powerful voice of Nathan.
They manage to make acoustic guitars sound evil with the slow and heavy pace of the guitars and drums create an obscure atmosphere; it feels like being in an occult ceremony.
Ancient VVisdom has really created something special here and is grabbing my attention after the first song and it didn’t leave through their entire set!
It is true that their live gigs are more like live rituals, and according to Nathan “Our sets are ceremonies”. Watching them perform 45 minutes is something surreal, I just couldn’t take my eyes away from them!
