Outshine has a melancholy and dark approach to their music. The music is an combination between strong vocals (compared with icons as Billy Idol, Vince Neil and in the heavier parts, Dez Fafara) and down-tuned, melodic and diverse sound with some gothic vibes in it. The band has influences from bands like System Of A Down, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins and Paradise Lost and the latest album “Until We Are Dead” got great reviews in European press.
Jimmy Norberg on the new album : “The new album, written as an album (not just 9-10 songs put together), is more direct, straight forward and has a very dark and melodic touch to it. It´s recorded in an analog studio because we believe that todays digitally mastered and mixed albums loses a bit of the essence and soul in the music. We wanted it “alive”. Some new influences is implemented in the Outshine sound 2011, it´s very heavy and it feels like we´ve found the perfect set-up for an Outshine album.”
