KAMELOT
Live in Montreal, Canada
@ Club Soda, Sept. 2, 2011
Live review and pics by Geneviève Hamel
The Kamelot concert that was held in Montreal’s Club Soda on Friday September 3ed was long awaited by fans. Indeed we were all febrile to see the new recipe involving Rhapsody of Fire’s singer, Fabio Lione. Naturally, Roy Khan’s undisputed fans were missing. Too bad for them because that new recipe is even much better!

Although Fabio had to adapt his voice to Kamelot songs, he gave a perfect and very professional performance. At times, he could almost to be mistaken for Roy because his voice sounded a lot like Khan’s. For a Rhapsody of Fire fan, it was weird not to hear the Italian singer’s vibratos, but most of Kamelot fans who were there well accepted this new singer.
Fabio Lione, who hasn’t been on stage in Quebec for 6 years was warmly welcomed by the crowd that was singing along with him to every song, to his delight and his bandmates as well.

As always, the band gave an energetic performance. Fabio and Epica’s singer Simone Simmons’ duet for the song ‘’The Haunting’’ was simply intense and fabulous. ‘’Abandoned’’ was magnificent as well, warmly acclaimed by the audience. Kamelot gave a 1h15m performance.
