Let Me Hear You Scream Sweden Rockkkk.Well the annual roadtrip to Swedenrock by the Finnish Metal Rules.com team is already into it’s 11th year! The 2011 line up presented a wide range of metal and hard rock in the line-up. Over 70 metal and rock bands offered one hell of an experience for the attendees. Sweden Rock has been successful during the past ten years as the festival has always been sold out. This year wasn’t any exception as the fest was sold out despite the lousy economic situation worldwide and the ticket price had risen a little bit. ver these 11 years of coverage, it has become quite logical for us to give an in depth article of several bands performing at Sweden Rock to all the readers out there. The weather once again showed positive and negative aspects like in 2010. It either rained or was windy with a little sunshine. But we were there for bands, not for having some beach party crap. Unfortunately, we are not able to cover every bloody band, but hopefully you will have a pleasant reading experience… Enjoy or die!!!
WEDNESDAY
CRASHDIET
The Swedish sleeze kings Crashdiet have struggling thru these years even though having faced tragic problems with singers. It was definitely interesting to witness how the singer was able to sing the material from the era when the current Reckless Love singer used to front the band. The current singer with the wild looking Simon Cruz turned out to be a real showman. The four piece nailed all the Crashdiet classic with sleeze passion. The Stockholm sleeze kings would work better in a more intimate club environment or a dark surrounded open air festival area. Playing in the day night definitely took some aggression away from their performance on the stage.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES
Black Veil Brides have reached ultimate success within the past year. With the Nikki Sixx look the five piece has gathered tremendous amount of attention and interest and above all teen chicks are entirely spellbounded about them. The theatrical band did a solid performance on the Zeppelin stage. The more pop meets rock based songs with catchy melodic riffs definitely hit with the younger audience for sure. Somehow the band could even more develop those theatrical aspects for their future live shows.
NECRONAUT
Fred Estby used to be drumming in Dismember before pulling out to focus on other non-band activities. Obviously resting on laurels got on his nerve as he founded the Necronaut project to please his old school death metal lust. Necronaut is an entire project run by Estby with required quests. Several known Swedish death and black metallers marched on the stage. This one and only Necronaut show has been said in advance to be Necronaut’s only public appearance on stage ever. Firstly Estby handled the drumming duties when Tompa Lindberg, Erik Danielsson and the Nifelheim twins unleashed the deadly maelstrom on the stage. Then Fred Estby stepped off and Nicke Andersson sat behind the drum kit. Necronaut blasted a few new songs and finally the whole old school death metal lesson was concluded by the old Death classic “Evil Dead” with the whole Swedish death/black metal guys growling together on the stage.
