French black metal extremists SVART CROWN are pleased to announce the addition of drummer Nicolas Muller to their lineup. Nicolas joined the fold in time for the band’s performance at this year’s HELLFEST and will continue cracking skulls behind the kit when SVART CROWN storms the stage at Le Sezamo in Nice, France and again when they take part in Czech Republic’s Brutal Assault Festival on August 12th. Video footage of Nicolas rehearsing the song “Colosseum,” from SVART CROWN’s most recent album, Witnessing The Fall, can be viewed at this location. Witnessing The Fall was released on February 8th, 2011 in North America.
Spawned in France by guitarist/vocalist J.B Le Bail, SVART CROWN was born in 2005 with the idea to push the boundaries of extreme music, and create a new dimension of brutality and blackness. Following numerous tours in his native land, SVART CROWN released its first album, Ages Of Decay in early 2008. The band has been promoting this first effort since then, with countless shows and two European runs. Around J.B. Le bail, guitarist C. Frandrois, bassist L. Veyssière and drummer G. Barthélemy (also known for his work with Diabolic, Drowning, Balrog and Antaeus) complete the line-up. Following their first effort, SVART CROWN is back with a work of absolute blackness. All the frenzy and the barbarian fury that are the trademark of the band are blended here in a determinedly occult album called: Witnessing The Fall. The sulphurous and oppressive atmosphere are emphasized by an organic sound crafted by Francis Caste (Kickback, Arkhon Infaustus, Phazm) at St Marthe studio. SVART CROWN has successfully mixed an old school feeling with various modern influences; Witnessing The Fall is simply the new face of the band; a black beast, full of anger, symbol of a humanity in perdition.
