Finnish Thrashers ALTARS OF DESTRUCTION now welcome vocalist Jarno Samppala to the band, as well as new guitarist Jussi Arkela.

Jarno Samppala, who is the brother of AOD’s drummer Jussi Samppala, replaces longtime vocalist and original bandmember Mika Luoma. Mika’s statement was the following:

“I feel it’s the fair thing to do, now that new ambitions have risen. The core of the band have worked hard in the past months. My lack of time and motivation would only stand in the way of 4 other musicians’ chances. Thanks to everyone in the past few years for support and helping start the new AoD-chapter. THRASHON! Mika.”

Altars Of Destruction were very sorry to hear of Mika’s decision and thank him for the time together and his contribution to the band.

The other new arrival at AOD-camp is second guitarist Jussi Arkela. Jussi already performed some tunes as a guest on the album “Gallery Of Pain”.

The addition of Jussi Arkela now means that Altars Of Destruction have a full line-up to play live-gigs, and the first chance to see them live after many years of break is the Rotta-Festival (Rottavestivaali) in Nummijärvi (FIN), where AOD play on Saturday, August 20, 2011.
