The demolition brigade of Goresoerd, having recently released a successful full-length “Tüdruk ja Surm” (“The Maiden and Death”) as well as a split-MCD with Tukkanuotta, have yet another reason to be proud: the ghoulish gentlemen will be performing at the most popular Scandinavian metal festival Tuska taking place in the middle of Helsinki city on July 22–24! The achievement is also noteworthy for the fact that thus far the only Estonian band to have performed there were Metsatöll in 2006.
Tuska Open Air is a household name for every self-respecting metalhead. The first of the events by that name took place already in 1998, and the festival has grown ever grander and mightier since. In 2010, Tuska was headlined by such acts as Megadeath, W.A.S.P., Nevermore, Cannibal Corpse and Satyricon; the festival, attended by altogether 33 000 people, was sold out. This year the festival will for the first time take place at the Suvilahti cultural centre instead of the traditional location at Kaisaniemi park.
In addition to Goresoerd, the list of Tuska’s performers for July 22–24, 2011 presently includes At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Exodus, Meshuggah, Killing Joke, Enslaved, Moonsorrow, Witchery, Agnostic Front, Kvelertak, Spiritual Beggars, Grave, Mygrain, Church Of Misery, Misery Index, Jex Thoth, Cavus, Lighthouse Project, Cause For Effect, Gaf, Feastem a. o.
Nevertheless, Goresoerd will be playing in Finland already before that, as three gigs will take place on the Northern shore of the Gulf of Finland together with Tukkanuotta in the beginning of March.
