One of the hottest new bands to storm onto the metalcore scene in years is undoubtedly ASKING ALEXANDRIA, a UK sensation that is now currently making major waves throughout the world. This is easily the UK’s most notable metal export of the decade and they have captured the hearts of the youth with their overly energetic and entertaining live performances.
ASKING ALEXANDRIA just filmed a video for their track “A Prophecy” with acclaimed director Robby Starbuck (August Burns Red, Silverstein) and head over now to www.myspace.com/askingalexandria now to check out some of the stellar live action shots. Look for the video to surface sometime next month.
The group kicked off a massive North American tour as direct support to All That Remains this past week, which runs through Nov. 14th. If you haven’t witnessed a live ASKING ALEXANDRIA show then you are truly missing out on what is unquestionably one of the most intense and physical live events that will surely leave you begging for more. Either see below or visit the band’s MySpace page to view their complete touring itinerary.
A very candid interview with Ben Bruce (guitars) and the Gun Shy Assassin can be viewed at the link below. If you ever wanted an honest look into the madness that takes place on the road then this interview is a must read.
Bruce checks in from tour with the following report: “From 6PM through until 6AM the following morning. One of the most grueling and punishing 12 hours of my life. The video shoot for ‘A Prophecy’ tested our physical and mental stability. We shot the video in the backroads of downtown LA. Rain machines, fire, cold weather and freezing water conditions in strangers pools were just some of the things we had to endure through out the video shoot. We were all very sick whilst shooting this due to the extreme conditions we were asked to perform in. Blisters on our feet, growling, empty stomachs and lots of make up and hairspray that spent less time where it was intended draining into our mouths due to the rain, but it was all worth going through. The video shoot was quite the experience, and we can’t wait to show the world how it has come out.
“So far the tour has been amazing. Its such an honor to be sharing the stage with All That Remains. We are all huge fans of the band, and it’s been a great time getting to know them and watch them perform every night. This tour is a really great opportunity for us as we are getting the chance to perform infront of alot of new people who wouldn’t necessarily come to our shows. I’m sure it’s going to be amazing the whole way through, so hopefully you can make it out.”
ASKING ALEXANDRIA fans rejoice as a new release, Stand Up And Scream (Stepped Up And Scratched), is now set for a Dec. release. This is essentially a remixed, dub step version of their debut album. New artwork and packaging will also be a part of this release and released online over the coming weeks.
ASKING ALEXANDRIA’s highly acclaimed debut offering, Stand Up and Scream, quickly caught everyone’s attention as they combined hardcore music with European Trance, soft catchy melodies and a sound more mature than just your average play by numbers hardcore outfit. This was just the refreshing new sound that people have been waiting for.
