Devil’s Hotrod
Dirty Rocks For Broken Hearts
2009, Stumble Records
Rating: 3.5

Hailing from the Province of Quebec this not so traditional Rockabilly band has been on the scene since 2002. DIRTY ROCKS FOR BROKEN HEARTS is their 3rd album and has just been recently released on Stumble Records out of Ontario.

Raw and gritty are about the best way to describe the sounds you here. It is as though the band went into the studio and blasted their way through the songs as a whole unit in one take instead of individually. It has that live rawness to it that is typically lost when an artist records separately. Each and every track on DIRTY ROCKS FOR BROKEN HEARTS is an upbeat Rockabilly number with some Punk mixed in to create more of an edge.

Whilst each and every song on the disc are enjoyable to listen to there isn’t one single track that stands out or sets itself from the rest.
