X Japan made its U.S. concert debut at Lollapalooza this past Sunday, and an ABC “World News with Diana Sawyer” crew was there to record the historic event. The Chicago Sun-Times called the band’s performance “a spectacular, almost operatic performance of big ballads and speed metal.” Time Out Chicago‘s review thanked Lollapalooza’s co-founder Perry Farrell for booking “the coup of the festival,” and USA Today wrote, “The metal-pop-punk was fast and furious,” describing the drumming of band leader Yoshiki as “Keith Moon on Red Bull.”
X Japan, one of the most successful rock bands in Japanese history, has its sights set on America. ABC-TV’s Dan Harris sat down with X Japan’s Yoshiki in Chicago, to talk about that. “ABC World News with Diana Sawyer” airs at 6:30PM ET/PT, 5:30PM CT on all ABC stations. Don’t miss this segment.
Slayer will make its first-ever appearance on “Jimmy Fallon Live,” performing “Hate Worldwide” from the band’s latest album “World Painted Blood.” Slayer kicks off its 19-date “American Carnage” tour with Megadeth and Testament tomorrow, August 11 in Glens Falls, NY. Catch Slayer tonight on “Jimmy Fallon Live,” airing on NBC at 11:35PM ET/WT, 10:35P.
