Only Through The Pain

2008, Eleven Seven Music

3.5

A relatively new band on the scene who just finished up a stint as one of the bands on this past summer’s Cruefest Tour. Being on a label that Sixx is president of probably played a factor in them getting on the roster as their music isn’t like the Crue’s at all.

Musically the disc is pretty predictable modern rock style giving the listener no real surprises. It is like most of the modern rock you hear on the radio these days and anything on ONLY THROUGH THE PAIN would blend in well. Singer Chris Taylor Brown has a good voice but unfortunately does not use it to stand out from the crowd instead he plays it too safe. The band is tight and play well and could do allot better.

An enjoyable release of radio friendly modern rock that gets better with every spin. It is better than allot that is already being played nowadays. Hopefully next time they push their selves a bit more and kick it up a notch.
