Archeology

2008, Hyperspace Records

Rating: 3/5

The Lizards are a new classic rock act that was formed by former members of Riot, Rainbow and Black Sabbath as well as having a current member of Cactus as well. This makes for an original old sound.< ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

After forming some 4-5 years ago to favorable reviews it was only fitting that they release a disc of cover songs which is pretty much the norm now. What is different here is that not only are the song choices a bit obscure but so are some of the bands that originally did them. If you didn’t read the back cover you’d never really know and go on thinking it was an all original disc.

Nothing stands out at all here. It’s just a decent rock record with a classic rock sound to it.
