An excerpt from the interview………
NOSTRADAMUS debuted on the US billboard album charts at number 11, your highest US charting position to date. How does it feel to get such mainstream recognition in the USA?
K.K.: It’s always good, recognition is good. Obviously people know we’ve been coming to the States now for many years, I think since the late 70’s. We all have have a great time and the audiences are always great. It’s great to be able to keep building momentum all the time, the longer we’re around, we’re always building and building which is great. As you say, to have the highest debut for our album, what can we say? What’s next? We’re heading soon towards #1 though soon aren’t we? (laughs) 11 is good though…but next time.
With the previous success of bands like Metallica and the Scorpions doing special one off engagements with a full symphony orchestra, can you see doing something similar with NORTRADAMUS to document it as maybe a live album or DVD?
Rob: I think it’s a long way off yet because we can do something like we want to do with NORSTRADAMUS in many many different formats. There’s lots of ways to perform it. The cool thing is that we are finding, it’s not easy, but we can transpose it from the record into the live performance. We are already doing that now. We just gotta think about it and have a lot of discussions and meetings, planning, programming…because it’s gonna be spectacular, there’s no doubts about that. It will be a very incredible moment for Priest and for our fans. If you just stay tuned to JudasPriest.com, then as things develop we can let people know what’s happening.
