Silverchair

Young Modern

2007, ILG

Rating: 2.5/5

Australian trio Silverchair return with their first disc of new songs in over 5 years. They are one of their homelands most successful and acclaimed bands having had more #1 releases than Midnight Oil, INXS or AC/DC. This release finds a more mature Silverchair than what we have been accustomed to from them.

This album has been critically acclaimed in its native country since its release this past spring. While the songs show a more evolved band there is nothing overly unique here to set them apart from the pack. Their debut FROGSTOMP was fresh and unique to your ears but while there are some great songs here there is nothing special that just hits you.

A fine disc of Rock with pop melodies, nothing more.
