Here is the first sneak-preview from the glam/sleaze rockers Hardcore Superstar’s upcoming album. They are about to follow-up the brilliant self-titled studio album from 2005 and I’m sure that many are curious what their new album is gonna sound like.
When I interviewed singer Jocke Berg and guitar player Silver last year they said that the new album was going to be harder and meaner compared to their previous ones; when I heard this single I understood exactly what they were talking about. BASTARDS is a great choice for a first single because of its rawness and adrenaline-sparkling heavy music and attitude. You can still hear that it’s Hardcore Superstar, but right about there the similarities with their old sound ends.
Silver has been given a lot more space within the production and his raw and edgy guitar playing blows the head off of everyone. Lead vocalist Berg contributes with meaner singing and he oozes dirty/heavy glam/sleaze rock’n’roll. The song is really catchy and sing-a-long-friendly like before and it’s just as brilliant as ever. Hardcore Superstar is a band that can’t do anything wrong and are at the moment one of the brightest shining stars in the glam/sleaze sky. This single was released in Sweden on the 6th of June and obtained gold status after two weeks, which is really impressive. That’s also a sign that the guys took the right direction in releasing BASTARDS as the first single. The only flaw is that it’s just one song. It’s a given purchase for all fans of the band or for all fans of glam/sleaze music. It can’t get much better than this.
