For those of you who don’t know who Martin Briley is (like me), he’s a singer/songwriter/guitarist who has worked with celebrities like Celine Dion, Tom Jones, Meatloaf, etc. This is his fourth solo album on a new label where he delivers the stuff he does best: mellow melodic rock. There are no musicians listed in the bio, so maybe the talented Briley plays all the instruments by himself.< ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The album flows in the same slow tempo the whole way. I can hear huge musical similarities with Eric Clapton as well. Briley has a voice that really doesn’t fit any other kind of music, so this music is perfect for him. All of the songs are pretty good; the only thing I don’t like is the incredibly slow tempo. IT COMES IN WAVES is perfect as a gift for your mother-in-law or to a melodic-rock-lovin’ girlfriend.
