The Charlatans UK
2006, Sanctuary Records
A very typical Brit Pop rock album. For the most part it flows along smoothly keeping to a set formula. It is fairly mellow and extremely radio friendly. The highlight of the disc is easily “NYC”. This is the most upbeat track on the disc and offers the listeners a spurt of energy in a somewhat drap album. While the songs and album is half decent, it is boring for an immediate lack of a better term. All the tracks are to similar and do not fray away from one another. There needs to be a slight bit more diversity in the songs.
