Let It Rock – The 60th Birthday Concert
2005 Eagle Vision
Rating: 4/5

Filmed back in January 1995, this concert takes place at Toronto’s Massey Hall, to help celebrate Ronnie Hawkin’s 60th birthday. This star studded features the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Jeff Healy and more. The musical talent and knowledge on the stage that night is unmatched. Just seeing the late Carl Perkins perform is worth the price of admission. Both Perkins and Lewis helped shape rock n roll, and without them there would be no rock n roll as we know it today.

While the video might be slightly grainy, it does not deter from the massive quality of music. Hearing classics like “MATCHBOX” , “WHO DO YOU LOVE” and “WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN”  you just can’t do wrong. This is an incredibly enjoyable disc from start to finish. It is a shame that there is no performance with Jeff Healy on vocals.
