Rating: 2.5/5

Toto recently released their new studio album, FALLING IN BETWEEN, that they are currently out promoting. Before they started off the second leg of their European tour they released this EP. The tour started in Greece at the beginning of July and ends in Austria in August. This EP appeals first and foremost to all fans and collectors of Toto items, because it contains no new or outstanding material.

It kicks off with the first radio single from the new album, “Bottom of Your Soul”. The song is a ballad that has the potential of becoming a real radio hit and it sounds like an ordinary Toto song. There are two bonus tracks; the first one is a live version of “Gypsy Train” recorded at the Gampel Festival in Switzerland during 2004. The second one is from the German ZDF TV show “Wetten Das”, and it’s a medley of “Africa/Rosanna/Bottom Of Your Soul”. The first two are maybe two of the most well known Toto tracks ever and they work really well in this medley format.

I think that this EP is fun to have for fans of Toto, but otherwise this is only a standard release of a band that had their time a few decades ago.

Steve Lukather – guitar, vocals
David Paich – keyboards, vocals
Greg Phillingames – keyboards, vocals
Mike Porcaro – bass
Simon Phillips – drums
Bobby Kimball – lead vocals
