Balloon Festival, London, ON Canada
My first introduction to Bobnoxious (featuring former RAZOR frontman) was last summer and since then I have been a fan. This hard rockin’ 4 piece from London, Ontario with it’s ‘We don’t give a fuck what you think’ attitude has helped earn them many a fan. They are one of London’s biggest bands and deservedly so. They get out there and give it their all and don’t compromise in the least.
As I arrive at the field they hit the stage while I am still in line. This is my first time seeing Bob live so I am psyched. They begin their short 45 minute set with the crowd favorite “Big Cannons”. Once inside the gate you couldn’t help but notice the plethora of Bobnoxious shirts, hats and tattoos. These guys are clearly the hometown heroes. Bob, Stan, Jeffy and Wylie crank out the old favorites as well as some new material off of their upcoming ROCKAHOLICS album. Every song goes over well and the crowd just eats it up. At one point in the show Bob introduces us to his friend Suzie before she leaves the stage to get closer to the audience. After a song or 2 she makes her way back to the stage where Bob gives her a drink. Toward the end of the set the Campbell brothers (Rob and Sandy) of The Mudmen come onstage complete with their bagpipes and adorning kilts and perform with the band.
After the shows was over, the entire band heads to the merch booth to sign cd’s, posters…anything for the fans. These guys are goodtime Heavy Rock n’ Roll to the fullest extent.
