Freak ‘n’ Roll….Into the Fog

2006, Eagle Vision

Rating: 4.5/5

Finally we are blessed with a live concert DVD from this outstanding band. Filmed last year at the infamous Fillmore in < ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />San Francisco, this disc shows the band at the top of their game.

Sonically and visually the concert is well above the norm, especially the DTS mix. All of the instruments are well mixed and sound incredible. With songs like “Jealous Again”, “Hard to Handle” and “Remedy” you cannot help but to crank up the audio and enjoy it at ear bleed volume. Even their cover of The Band’s “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” is fabulous as they capture the essence of the song yet add their own sound to it.

A few lesser known track are included into the set and still come across remarkably. The only disappointment is that some great songs were not included in the show such as “Good Friday”, “Blackberry” and “Lickin’”. Hopefully these will make it into their live set and get included on the next concert DVD.
