Stranger In A Foreign Land

2005, Cactus Moon Music

Rating: 4/5

Better known for his work with Lynch Mob, Oni Logan has one of the greatest voices out there. Highly underrated and relatively unknown outside the genre, Oni should change that with this release.

Twelve original tracks of pure rock with some killer acoustic songs mixed in along with a surprise or two. Starting off with the upbeat rocker “When Will You Hear Me” showcases Oni’s superb voice that we know from his stint in Lynch Mob. If anything his voice has gotten stronger over the years and has more power behind it. The female back-ups on the chorus add a whole new dimension to the track, they compliment Oni perfectly. He keeps the groove going into the following song; “The Long Road” which has some heavy drums and a ‘summer feel’ to it. “Bring Back The Days” is the standout song on the record with its melody, vocals and musicianship…it all blends and gels together perfectly to create a real gem.

The remaining nine tracks are equally as good and are all in the same style of Melodic Hard Rock. There is no off the wall stuff here, just a straight forward kick ass rock record.
